We’re part of the rescue community and open up our space as a way to support and further our efforts in animal rescue, and every booking helps us continue doing what we love!❤️🐶🐱 Given how hot it’s been, we’re happy to offer our yard even after the sun goes down. The yard is a spacious 0.18 acres with plenty of room for pups to run and play. The pool is dog-friendly and features side steps (which our own dogs use!) and built-in entry steps, plus a relaxing lounge area in the water. Yes, you’re more than welcome to swim with your pup! 🏊‍♀️ For safety, the pool has a max depth of around 5 feet, and we kindly ask that guests notify us after booking if they’re bringing 🚨 children who cannot swim🚨. At night, the pool lights up—you can choose a classic white glow or switch to a color-changing mode just tell us what you prefer after booking. Our patio lights also illuminate the yard for safe and fun nighttime visits. Whether you want to play frisbee, toss a ball, or just kick back, there’s something for everyone. If you’d prefer to stay dry, we have poolside seating as well as shaded spots on the patio. You’re also welcome to bring a speaker and enjoy your favorite music while you hang out. Conveniently located right off the Loop 101 in South Scottsdale! 🏝️Our pool has steps leading in, but it does get deep (about 8-9ft). Please be sure that any dogs/humans using the pool know how to swim. Safety is our top priority! Our pool cleaner comes every week on Friday afternoons. If you book during this time, please be aware of this. 🎾There are toys for your use by the entrance gate. Please try to put the toys back in the basket before you leave! Toys are welcome to be used in the pool as well. 💧 There is a bowl on the back wall next to our hose for dogs to drink from. The bowl is refilled in the mornings, but if you would like fresh water, please feel free to refill the bowl with our hose. Just be sure to turn the hose off after use. 🚫The concrete blocks around the yard are there for important reasons. They are either holding down umbrellas or are covering holes in the yard. Please DO NOT move the blocks for any reason. They are there for your safety. 💩There are poop bags in the green planter on the large glass table. Please pick up after your pooch and throw the used bags away in the black trash bin located to the left of the entrance gate. Clean beach towels will be folded on the chairs closest to the entrance gate. If you use a towel, please hang it on the back of any chair so that we know it is dirty and needs to be washed. June 9th: We’ve had an outbreak of slime mold in the backyard. It’s not harmful or toxic to dogs but if you see little white puffs in the grass that’s what they are. If kicked open they look like diarrhea from dogs. Again, not harmful just wanted to let you know. As it heats up they will disappear. Not your perfect yard, digging and construction going on, equipment may or may not be out. If you’re looking for the perfect yard for you this IS NOT the place for you. If you’re looking for a place for your dog then we MIGHT have the backyard for them. Ok, now that we have that out of the way if you still feel froggy in visiting our backyard you are more than welcome. BUT please keep in mind we are still doing renovations and making our backyard more presentable not only for us but for you, our guests. If you can’t stand the unsightly look of dirt and rock with wood stacked away, tractors parked on the side, open sheds and maybe coming across some dog poop then this place really may not be for you. We do try our best to clean up but hey, sometimes we miss. I feel like this has to be said. We offer many pawsome amenities at Shaggy’s Shack, including bags and a trash can for your nature calls and a disposable water dish with lots of fresh water (and water for your human, too). Clean towels for drying off after you’ve doggie-paddled in the pool are also provided. Of course, use of the pool is at your and your human’s own risk. The pool is chlorinated and not heated in the winter months. Your human may use the pool to get a closer look at your pawsome doggie paddling technique. While we provide towels for you, we ask that your human brings their own towels. There is no fence or gate around the pool, and we strongly encourage you to bring your own doggie life vest if you do decide to get your paws wet. Discounts are available for multiple dogs. Visit times can be extended if there is availability. Respecting Sniffspot’s 30-minute transition time between visit times is very important. So that no one gets hurt or gets into something that could be dangerous, glass, alcohol and smoking are prohibited. All pups need to be up-to-date on all vaccinations to keep our resident and visiting doggos healthy. We bought this yard specifically for our reactive dog (Sollie). He absolutely loved it and really flourished here. He’s passed away now, so we want to share our yard with more doggies! Do agility, jump in the pool, dig some holes, and just generally create chaos. If you know for sure that you won't use the pool, send me a message. I might be open-minded to a discount. 😊 Agility equipment is the portable type, so it’s just 2 jumps and weave poles. Feel free to move it around. We don’t have seesaw or table obstacles. The tunnel finally gave up in 2025. It tried so hard, but the sun ☀️ was too much. RIP blue tunnel. There are 3 main sections to the yard, plus patio. A couple photos include Sollie, who was about 90 pounds, so you can see the scale of the yard. We have lots of amenities included to make your visit stress-free, plus a few items for purchase as Extras. Hope to "see" you soon! (You won't see us at all. :) ) FENCING: The interior divider fence was destroyed when a tree fell in a storm. We're still dealing with insurance. Those old fence panels are now being used to block off an Oleander bush while we remove it. Oleander is very common in Arizona, but it's toxic so we've chosen to remove it. Very small dogs may be able to fit through this interior fence. The main fence is still secure, and small dog approved! VACCINATIONS: Please double check that your doggie is up to date! 🐶💕 The parvovirus vaccine in particular is super important. The virus can survive in the soil for a year, which would not be fun!
