Small working farm on Johns Island

Unfenced
20 acres

I have had my spot mostly closed for a little while due to family issues. I have started to open the calendar up more and more, however. If you don't see any time open on the day you would like, message me, and I may be able to accommodate you and open your desired time slot. The property is a small working farm on Johns Island with goats, chickens, geese and ducks. There are 20+ acres of undeveloped land. Approximately half of it is fields that aren't currently planted. Some of the fields are cut low and some are high grass with lanes cut through them. The other half of the property is woods. There are also several ponds. The property is perfect for training dogs to track or retrieve or just to let them explore.

Frequently asked questions about Meggett dog fields

What amenities do Meggett dog fields typically include?

Meggett dog fields feature amenities designed for full-speed running and fetch: wide-open grass fields, fetch lanes, and open running space, secure fencing options, water stations, waste disposal, and often extras like toys, shade structures, or parking. Unlike public parks with generic setups, Meggett hosts customize their spaces. Browse 38 listings to compare—from bare essentials to luxury amenities perfect for your dog's needs.

How much does it cost to use Meggett dog fields?

Sniffspot runs on a membership model with monthly and annual plans that include credits toward Meggett dog park bookings. Members get discounted rates at participating Meggett spots, and new users can start with a 7-day free trial. There are no surprise booking fee. Your credits cover the reservation. Browse Meggett dog fields listings to see individual spot pricing, and check your membership dashboard to see how many credits you have available.

How clean are private dog fields in Meggett compared to public parks?

Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in Meggett see dozens of dogs daily with sporadic city maintenance. Private dog fields have dedicated hosts who maintain their own spaces—cleanliness directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many Meggett hosts provide fresh poop bags, sanitized water stations, and regular grounds cleaning. With only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal.

Can I book Meggett dog fields on short notice?

Usually yes! Many Meggett dog fields offer same-day or next-day availability with instant booking. Unlike public parks that might be crowded unpredictably, Meggett private dog fields let you reserve exactly when needed: early morning before work, midday breaks, evening exercise. Real-time availability shows on each listing—perfect for last-minute training or when routines get disrupted.

What's the best time to visit dog fields in Meggett?

Any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks in Meggett that are crowded during peak hours (mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't worry about timing. Book when it fits YOUR schedule—midday when it's quiet, dawn for cool weather, late evening for convenience. Many Meggett dog fields have lighting for after-dark visits. This flexibility is perfect for shift workers or dogs with special needs.

Do Meggett dog fields allow multiple dogs?

Yes! Most Meggett dog fields welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings), but generally you can bring your whole pack. This is perfect for multi-dog households in Meggett where some dogs are selective—they can play together privately without outside interference. Great for sibling bonding or families with mixed ages/temperaments.

Can I use Meggett dog fields for special events?

Many Meggett dog fields welcome doggy birthday parties, training workshops, breed meetups, or group playdates. Private bookings mean your event won't be interrupted. Coordinate with Meggett hosts about capacity, amenities (parking, shade, water), and any restrictions. Some even provide party extras. Check individual Meggett dog field listings for event policies.

How do Meggett dog fields accommodate dogs with special needs?

Meggett dog fields are excellent for special needs dogs because you can filter for specific requirements: flat terrain for mobility issues, secure fencing for blind/deaf dogs, quiet locations for anxious dogs, small spaces for seniors, or maximum privacy for reactive dogs. Read reviews from other Meggett special-needs dog owners, and contact hosts with questions. The private setting means you can adapt the experience to your dog's unique requirements.
