55Always a great time at this Sniffspot. For those needing more context, there are miles and miles and miles of ATV trails at this site, and we are able to walk to sections where even on busy days we rarely see any and when we do, we are able to make a ton of space. You could walk all day and not repeat trails. Thankful that George shares his space so that our dogs get so many trails to roam! If your dog has a hard time with vehicle traffic, you may want to avoid weekend prime time hours or ask George for a map of where might be best. We have been to this spot many, many times and even found new trails today we had never been on. Laura B.

55We love this spot! My dog needs a lot of work on recall and is super anxious about other dogs. The fenced in field gave him freedom that he never gets and he had such a great time. There is comfortable access to the creek for rinsing off, and we had fun walking around the fields on leash. We will definitely be back!Jane R.

55Kaya had one of the best days ever! We just stayed in the fenced in area so she could run around off-leash. Lots of leaping in the grass, sniffing, and mud (which she loved!) 💛🐾 we can’t wait to come back!Sarah D.

55Beautiful place! This was our first time at a Sniffspot so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was a bit confused about how to navigate the ground/map but Alana answered my question promptly. We wandered around the grounds a bit (the cows said hello) and then went back into the fully fenced in area. We went in the evening, and my dog Rory was thrilled that for the first time ever he got to chase a deer without me telling him to “leave it” or quickly recall him (the deer jumped the fence, Rory did not/could not)! I did a good tick-check afterwards and was pleasantly surprised to not find any. Some parts of the grounds were a bit soggy after all the rain, but Rory certainly didn’t mind and I brought a change of socks and shoes for the ride home. The stream was also convenient for a quick dog-rinse before getting in the car. Thanks again for allowing us to use your landJennifer K.

55Beautiful property. We stayed mostly in the fenced in area (our coonhound loved being off leash without us having to worry too much about recall). We ventured off onto some paths and found a lovely stream where he could swim a little. Alana was so great, and supplied poop bags, tennis balls, paper towels, etc. The fields were pretty wet (to be expected with recent weather) and there was quite a bit of animal poop (also to be expected with it being a farm) But overall we had a great time, I would totally recommend letting your pup explore here! 55this was our very first sniffspot and it was amazing! my boy rudy had a wonderful time exploring all the new sights and smells, as well as swimming in the stream (his favorite thing to do)! this was such a wonderfully enriching activity for both of us. the fenced area is very large and seems secure as long as your pup won't readily jump the 4-foot height. there's a lot going on in there including field-type area, a marshy section, and wooded areas, as well as some trees near the gate for nice shade. the stream is extremely accessible, and it was very clear where to park and which sections are available for exploring. alana was also very kind and quick to answer a few questions i had. she also let me know ahead of time that due to the rain lately, some of the grass was a bit high. this was perfectly fine for us as my boy really loved running through it and rolling in it! thank you!!Jessica S.

55Beautiful place to explore. We stayed in the fenced area with our dog and his two best friends. They loved running freely (and rolling in poop, lol). We appreciated the paper towels provided. There was a tiny baby deer in the pasture — fortunately it was a faster runner than the dogs! Just something to be aware of. Katie M.

55Huge fenced in area for my dogs to run! Directions were clear and finding the place was easy. If you have dogs that like to eat random stuff like mine do, I would recommend taking them out further in the pasture before taking them off leash. Mine enjoyed the sheep poop buffet near the front corner until I redirected them further out. This is normal behavior for dogs that people generally consider to be gross but it won't hurt them. The grass height ranged from ankle to waist high across the pasture. Both of my dogs, especially the smaller one (50 pound pitbull), went full gazelle mode bounding through the taller areas. They ran and played and wrestled and generally had a blast. Normally they get bored of a smaller fenced in area in about 15-20 minutes but here with the massive area to explore they played the whole hour with a couple brief rests. We will definitely be returning!Christopher S.

55This is the greatest spot! Super secure, didn’t worry once about their safety, supplies as needed and somehow no ticks after 35 min of play! My dog especially loved the giant mud puddle (came prepared with towels!) if your dog is like mine, be ready to hit up the dog wash on the way home but it’s worth every quarter spent! Two very happy dogs. As a note to other dog owners, please clean up your poop. This field is very large but I promise you, a puppy will find your dog’s poop. Be considerate to Alana and her other guest, and prevent dog illnesses. Vanessa K.

55Fantastic spot! Fenced in area was big enough to get zoomies out with a lot of new smells to keep her mind pre-occupied.
We also loved the upper area through the woods and a great view!
As host states, it is a working farm with livestock visibly present. It was not an issue with walking by the pasture with my girl on a lead! Holly C.

55Ruger and Indy had so much fun today at Alana's! They romped to their hearts' content and chased each other in the big fenced off area. There were some low swampy spots on this spring day - which the dogs LOVED rolling around in - so you might want to have a towel in the car. They got to splash around in the creek a little, beautiful clear running water - and then an hour was up and it was time to go! We will be back to explore the other fields. You could easily spend 2 hours and not notice how fast the time goes by. Very peaceful, beautiful, good for dogs and human too! Alana is a great host, with great communication and a whole bucket full of toys. :) Michele P.

55Alana's was a great place for curious dogs. Woods to investigate and water to splash in. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to let my 5 months old Koolie off lead because the spaces in the pasture gate, not the entrance gate, were big enough for him to slip through. However, when he is a bit older, and has a solid recall, we'll definitely be back. Carol B.

Frequently asked questions about Nassau dog hiking trails
Why are private dog hiking trails better than public dog parks in Nassau?
Private dog hiking trails in Nassau eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Nassau's 20 private dog hiking trails offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.
How safe are Nassau dog hiking trails compared to public dog parks?
Nassau dog hiking trails are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Nassau dog hiking trails eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.
Are Nassau dog hiking trails safe for reactive dogs?
Nassau owners of reactive dogs choose dog hiking trails because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy natural exploration and varied terrain while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Nassau reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.
Can anxious dogs safely use Nassau dog hiking trails?
Yes! Nassau dog hiking trails provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment at their own pace without stress. Many Nassau dog hiking trails offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.
Are Nassau dog hiking trails good for small dogs?
Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Nassau dog hiking trails because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Nassau avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog hiking trails eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.
Do Nassau dog hiking trails work for senior dogs?
Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Nassau dog hiking trails because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Nassau dog hiking trails with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.
What do Nassau dog owners say about dog hiking trails?
Reviews of Nassau dog hiking trails consistently highlight: excellent privacy for all dog types, secure fencing that prevented escapes, clean and well-maintained spaces, responsive hosts, and safe environments for anxious, fearful, reactive, senior, and small dogs. Local favorite Bodemloze Geuren - 100 sniffable acres is particularly praised in Nassau. Read reviews to see real experiences from Nassau dog owners with similar needs.
How clean and maintained are Nassau dog hiking trails?
Nassau hosts maintain their own dog hiking trails and take pride in providing excellent experiences. All guests must have vaccinated dogs (or titers). Many Nassau hosts provide poop bags, trash cans, and regular cleaning. Reviews highlight maintenance quality—browse Nassau dog hiking trail listings to see real feedback about cleanliness and upkeep.
