Joy Ridge Sanctuary with over 2 Acres of Redwoods and Gardens

Welcome to our private oasis (we will not be home when you visit!) with over 2 fully fenced acres of redwoods and gardens in Occidental with a park-like setting. Dogs and their families can journey the meandering paths and trails to explore gardens, redwoods, seasonal fruit trees (you are welcome to try it) and endless relaxing areas with hammocks, benches, tables/chairs and even a covered outdoor bed. There is an indoor rustic lounge with sofa and table/chairs where we provide complimentary coffee/tea, water and treats for humans and dogs, dog toys/wipes/towels/blankets/waste bags, disposable rain ponchos for people and a covered outdoor patio with a sitting area to enjoy the redwoods. The bathroom is accessible from the main deck and has a sign on the door. Our redwoods sanctuary is perfect for celebrations, gatherings and private recharging in nature for dogs and their families. Only 15 min drive to dog friendly beaches, 10 min to 'Grove of Old Trees' (dog friendly) and to downtown in Occidental which is known for its shops, galleries and a famous dog friendly Howard Station Cafe. It's also an 8 min drive to 'St. Teresa of Avila Church' in Bodega where Alfred Hitchcock's film 'The Birds' was filmed. If you are visiting with little humans, please enjoy our outdoor toddler playground, swing set, an outdoor mud kitchen with kids' picnic table and a large sandbox with toys. There are also toys and books for kids in the lounge (under the coffee/tea bar table). If you have any questions, please reach out anytime so we can make your visit a wonderful experience! NOTE: If you see a block on the calendar and it's the only time you can visit, please feel free to reach out as we can move the blocks around on some days. HOT WEATHER INFORMATION Our sanctuary is high up along the forested ridge, which exposes it to fog and cooler offshore breezes. You can visit anytime of the day - the property is over 80% shaded and much cooler in hot weather due to a heavy redwood canopy that serves as a natural air conditioner. The temperature is 6-10F lower (depending on the fog and time of the day) than the weather forecast for Occidental. We also added a 'Splash Zone' under a 1000+ year old redwood tree for pups to enjoy.

Sniff and Splash

We offer a fully fenced space for your dog to run, play, or swim. Towel, toys and water are available. The doggie parents can enjoy a putting green while the dogs play. Feel free to join your dog for a swim on these hot days.

Monty's Playground

We have approximately 0.30 acres of fenced yard with several locations of seating for the humans, 3 water stations for the pups & a hose for more water when needed. We also provide dog bags, garbage, several balls, a throwing arm to play fetch, several toys, a kiddie pool for pups to cool off, and an agility course. Don't forget to check out the treats on the table. There is always atreat bag for each pup to enjoy. Welcome to “Pep’s place”, Santa Rosa’s premier Sniffspot location. Located in the heart of Santa Rosa “Peps place” offers more than 1.25 acres of fully fenced dog Paradise. Dedicated to our late great German Shepherd Pepper, this was her favorite spot to chase a ball. You will receive the code after booking. Drive in and park anywhere on the gravel road. ***8-20-25 update.*** The well has been fixed and you no longer have to wait for water now that we have a pressure tank, as soon as you turn on the faucet there will be water coming out

Rover's Ranch Run! 2 acre fenced field of sniffs

Fully fenced open field experience to walk, run, and sniff! You will also have a beautiful new shade structure for your use with seating, a table, and water spigot. This open area is great for active pups to get a free run, walk around the perimeter, or fetch super long ball throws! Your pup can jump on the large boulders and run to their hearts content. Perfect for off-leash training. Large oaks line the East fence and a winter swale will have water after it rains. Beautiful sunsets to the West over the vineyards, Mt. Jackson and the Coastal Range. Neighboring properties have horses, sheep, cows, and dogs. Please discourage your pup digging around the pavilion and trees. Parking is at the top of the property. Parking spot on driveway allows direct access through side gate into the backyard! Play endless ball throwing up the hill, sit in the shade while your doggies run around. A nice flat grassed area for you to exercise your dog. Large area to run or play ball with your dog.Ball launcher available sometimes( My dog is obsessed with it, so when I can sneak it away from her). Or use area for training one on one with your canine. An enjoyable experience noted by all guests visiting!! When you book a time it will just be you occupying the dog park. Welcome!! Sorry, no porta potty available, as it was put there by landscapers while they worked on property. Please do not book the 230pm time slot Mon-Fri if you have a reactive dog. Book the 3pm time slot as I rent the field out to a dog walker who leaves with many cars of dogs around 230pm or slightly thereafter, so that you do not cross paths with one another. Agility equipment area has just been added to sniffspot. Enter through secondary gate within sniffspot.Enjoy your visit!! Sometimes I have time slots available that do not show on calendar. You can message me and see if there is any availability on any particular day that may seem to be fully booked.

Fully Fenced, Peaceful, Beautiful Dog Park

A beautiful fenced-in 3+ acre parcel with hills, a few trees, areas with short and tall grass. Dogs absolutely love it here. Occasionally we’ll see wild turkeys and a few deer (and a gopher or squirrel here and there) but otherwise it is a dog roaming paradise. Easy to pull in and park on the gravel area. I have dog bowls, a few toys, 3 pooper scoopers, emergency poop bags, and a couple of washing stations. Cell reception is reasonably good here.

Andrea's 1 Acre Fully Fenced Private Dog Park In Cotati

Beautiful 1 plus acre with Porta potty and water buckets. Some trees for shade- bring a beach chair . We try our best to keep the perimeter mowed during Spring so you can enjoy walking and playing fetch. Views of Sonoma Mountain. Straight up the driveway (no turning left or right) dead end in gravel driveway and park in front of the railroad crossing sign that has a Sniffspot poster. Bring your muckers in the wet months and walk laps with your pup(s). Offers different view perspectives :). In winter we encourage you to gear up and enjoy the soft rain. Dogs love rain ! Bring a towel and your boots 🥾 if you rinse your dog from the bath tub spout - please keep dogs out of tub (for people too) and use cold water- not hot water. Thx!!!

The Gulch Pool

Welcome to our dog pool! Yup, that’s right, we designed this pool specifically for dogs!!!! We have 3 large benches that accommodate dogs of all sizes (some benches are more shallow/deeper than others), plus a step that goes all the way around the pool for dogs to walk on. In addition to that, we have a step in the deep end that makes it easy for the dogs to get in and out of the pool! We also have bubblers inside of the pool (the dogs go crazy over these) and then outside of the pool we have fountains that shoot into the pool! This is literally a dream pool for dogs and dog owners! The pool is surrounded by artificial turf and a gorgeous view! We can’t wait for you to check out our pool! Hi, We are reopening after completing our new back fence. Please note there is a large pile of soil/dirt in the driveway area. There is still plenty of room to park. Pups of all sizes enjoy this spot. Half acre property, fully fenced and gated, good privacy, lawn, pool, lounge chairs, table and chairs, flower gardens, redwood trees, olive trees, persimmon trees, meditation garden, hummingbirds, and even a red fire hydrant. Optional pool access for people can be purchased as an Extra, by the hour and by the person. The pool is unheated except by the sun/air. We love all dogs and welcome dogs of all shapes and sizes and hair types to visit; however we can only offer pool access for non-shedding pups, as long hair and fur was unfortunately causing damage to the pool equipment; If you are booking for more than one non-shedding dog swimming or for longer than an hour, please message us with info about your dog(s) and we will create an extra for you for the number of dogs you have swimming. Most visitors find the lawn size ample for running around and throwing a ball a bit, but if you are looking for a field to launch a tennis ball as far as you possibly can with a Chuck-it, the yard is not really the right size and shape for that, sorry! Hours right now are 7:00am to 7:30pm. If you are booking prior to 8:30am, please book no later than 9:00pm the night before, so that we see the booking before we go to bed.
