Poplar Creek Flower Farm and private dog oasis

Want to see your dog really get up to speed? Want to let them chase a squirrel without having to worry about traffic? Swim and wade in a creek? Come see us at Poplar Creek Flower Farm! We have 40 acres we want to share with you. 10 acres are pastures/grass which we keep mowed about every 3 weeks and the rest are woods! We have about 2 1/2 miles of trails to walk, bike or run. We are just minutes away from Pilot Mountain State Park and Highway 52, a perfect spot to stop if you're passing through. Out buildings are off limits to everyone. If it is windy, please be extra mindful in the woods- trees and branches do fall! We try to keep up with any big downed trees and try to keep trails clear. If you notice something that you feel needs our attention, please leave me a message and we will do our best! Please note that the map to the property is in the black box. The pond is not on our property, but the creeks are! It's summer and the bugs and snakes are out. Please ensure you and your dog protect against ticks/bugs. We have seen a snake a few times at the bottom of the swimming hole. I suggest standing at the top before going down the stairs, to see if one is there. But as much as I'm there, I've only seen it once, and a guest let me know she saw it too. Do not attempt to move the snake. Please just move along :) We hope you come and enjoy some off leash time with your 4 legged best friend(s) as you explore the pastures, wooded trails and creek!

It was perfect! I'm not 100% confident in my dog's recall, so we didn't go off leash very much, but we had a glorious hour and a half walk to explore and jump in the water 🙌🏻✨ The little waterfall area was so cute and a perfect spot to take a break.

We couldn’t LOVE this spot any more! The trails are well maintained and the property is a nice quite space to get away. Our dogs absolutely LOVED being off leash sniffing through the trails and playing in the creek. Thanks for a great adventure! We will definitely be back soon!

Absolutely beautiful property. The map in the black box is a life saver since I’m directionally challenged lol. I’m working on desensitizing my pup to squirrels and we did get to work on that since he spotted a few squirrels but was safe enough to chase and recall on the property. He wasn’t too sure about the water but I’m hoping next time he will jump in with me lol. So much fun. I can’t wait to go back!

This place is amazing! There was a box with amenities (like waste bags, insect repellent, hand sanitizer, maps, etc.) We did not realize this until we were finished, but it wasn't a problem as the trails were mowed and very well marked. It was so nice just to be able to let our pup run off leash, and we felt very safe doing that. There is the sweetest little waterfall and swimming hole. When we finished walking, we sat at the picnic table and enjoyed our snack and the wonderful breeze and view of Pilot Mountain. I told my husband that I want to tell everyone about this place, but then I don't want anyone to know about it. 🙂 We definitely plan to return soon.

Our family of 4 and 3 dogs had a great time at this property!! There were so many places for the dogs to run and play without having to worry about other dogs or people interfering with their time. The host is super gracious in the amenities available to you. My daughter absolutely loved being able to snip her very own flower bouquet. We will definitely be back soon!

We had a fabulous time at Poplar Farms in Pinnacle today! We took two cattle dogs and two border collies and they were in heaven! The pastures were huge and well maintained, the trails plentiful and well marked, and the swimming hole/waterfall was a huge hit! Jen was very welcoming and friendly in her messages. We will definitely be back. For first timers, it is a bit confusing when you turn into the drive. You need to drive well down the driveway until things clear out and you see the welcome sign and parking sign.

This place was great! You definitely want to have good recall with your dog or keep them on leash. But the space was so big and we felt safe letting our dogs run and explore. We’ll definitely be coming back!

What a great experience! My dog and his canine best friend had acres of open field space and woods, as well as a creek and a cute little bridge to cross. They were able to run and burn a lot of energy and explore with no concern about safety issues or making others nervous, as they are pretty boisterous and large German Shepherd Dogs. What an awesome idea! Thank y’all so much!

My pup and I had such a wonderful time exploring this beautiful property! It has everything— pastures to run through, wooded trails to hike on, and ponds to swim in. Lani is adventurous and loves to hike and explore the outdoors. She is also sensitive to other pups. It’s a huge relief that others are willing to share their incredible space with us! At times, I could see neighboring houses, but it still felt isolated and private. It was quiet and the trails were well marked, we easily could have spent a few more hours exploring this place, and we hope to be back soon!

We always love coming to Jen's spot! She is always a sweet host and makes sure we have everything we need! The dogs still got in a nice swim even in the chilly morning! And on our drive in we had the pleasure of seeing a flock of Great Pyrenees puppies tending to the livestock it was a great experience all the way around! Thanks Jen!
