Sturdy footwear is recommended if walking. • Recent rain can create some ruts, and the road is due for grading. • SUVs and trucks are recommended for driving down the hill. • Sedans can typically make it down as well (ours does!), but please use your best judgment based on road conditions. • Balch Lake is a shared lake, and you may see boats, kayaks, paddleboards, and dogs accompanying boaters on the water. • Sound can carry across the lake, making people or dogs seem closer than they actually are. • As with any unfenced property, please ensure your dog has reliable recall or keep them leashed based on your comfort level and your dog’s abilities. Main entrance to the yard can be found by entering the second driveway and parking in the designated parking area in front of the solar barn. We do not plow that driveway in the winter as it’s just gravel. So, feel free to park at the bottom of my driveway and walk to the SS gate if you’re not comfortable using the SS driveway in the winter. We ask that you please adhere to our 24 hour notice when changing or canceling a reservation. We are always fully booked on weekends and most weekdays too. Being in the animal rescue business for over 20 years we welcome your friend. *Please note, only dogs would good recall are allowed off leash. We do have 30-5-' leashes for those pups that don't recall.
