55Such an amazing experience for my pup and for us! So much land for them to roam freely, jumping around the creeks and pretty waterfalls and running everywhere!! My puppy got to meet the goats and the cows they had there. They even helped spray off my dogs legs & dried him off before we let him back in the car. Definitely recommend this place and will be back! Amanda B.

55When we first arrived John came Outside and gave us a full tour of the property to ensure we didn’t get lost. My dogs absolutely love this area, they can swim and run until they drop and they even got to say hi to some goats. Not only do my dogs love this area, but I do as well. Absolutely beautiful and you get the hiking experience without a bunch of other people around. Kelli P.

55Loved it! My pups had so much fun and met a cow! Played in the water too! Our host was amazing and showed us around while still being safe with social distancing and wearing a mask. Would highly recommend even with it being a bit of a drive. Definitely worth it! Cassandra B.

55If I could give this spot more than 5 stars, I would! John and Stephanie are incredibly welcoming and kind hosts and the spot is amazing. Their animals are all so chill and used to dogs, so it was a great chance for my city pups to meet the friendly goats on our way through the pasture to the Sniffspot. The Sniffspot space is truly a wonderland for pups - streams to splash in, wooden bridges, trees and rocks to climb on, open spaces for romping, so many trails to explore, and an adorable cabin where you can relax on the porch for a bit. Come prepared for some mud and slippery bridges if you visit during the rainy season, but it's SO worth it. I recommend booking at least 2 hrs to fully explore all that this spot has to offer. We've been out from West Seattle twice now and will absolutely be back - my dogs lost their minds with excitement when we arrived for our second visit! Kate S.

55A puppy paradise! This was such an amazing and enriching experience for our 5month old GSP. From running the trails all the way down to splashing in the creek, every minute of our time there was full of fun! The hosts are absolutely delightful. Cannot wait to visit again! Ally J.

55Another great experience at John’s and Stephanie’s farm. Definitely The Spot for you and your dog if you’re looking for a bit of an adventure out in their beautiful land with streams and creeks and socializing your dogs to their farm animals. Truly couldn’t find a better place to be on our social distancing Thanksgiving day. The pups came back dirty, happy and exhausted. John and Stephanie were also very accommodating; offered us a towel to dry our pups before we leave home and told us where the bathroom is should we need to use it. I am looking forward to another outing at this place next week and bringing my friend and her GSD along. Kate T.

55We come here at least once a week and it never fails to disappoint. This time we had an added bonus of seeing a deer. My doggo took off like a shot and had to run at least 100 yards uphill to chase him. Needless to say he was not successful in catching up with him but he had a blast trying. He was a very tired pup afterwards too! Bonnie B.

55My Great Dane and I were there on a less than stellar day, but we still greatly enjoyed our time and the hospitality of our hosts John and Stephanie. The property is lovely, with so much to offer people and pups. Even though the weather wasn’t amenable to a lot of exploring, we enjoyed our time hanging out under the deep eave of the cabin and the protection of the hemlocks when we did venture out to walk. This Spot and the hosts are far and above.Ilana C.

55I’m Kate and I’m also a Sniffspot host out in Tacoma. I’m blown away by both John’s and Stephanie’s warm welcome. They made me and my mom feel very welcomed, orienting us where to go and explore. I cannot recommend this place enough for those looking for a little adventure out in the woods with their pup. This top spot is a gem. Beautiful, beautiful place. The photos you see do not do justice. Come and experience the magic of this place yourself. My dogs; 9 mos old St Berdoodle and 9 weeks old Newfypoo had a blast. We booked for 1.5 hours but had to leave a little early for my pup’s vet appointment. I Will book again in the near future. 🐾🐶❤️Kate T.

55A great spot! Totally different in fall vs summer, lots of new nature for the dogs to explore with the new season. There is a rear entrance which is super useful for dogs that might not be trusted around farm animalsMaria S.

55We were warmly welcomed and lead to the sniff spot area. We have a dog who is afraid of people she doesn’t know and our hosts were very understanding. The property is magical with many bridges over the creek that are beautiful and look like they were made by faeries. The trails lined by moss covered logs. And the gurgling of the creek was relaxing. We were encouraged to sit on the covered porch of the empty cabin in the woods, especially if it started to rain. Our dog and my daughter could not have had a better time.Sol R.

55Great spot. We have visited before, but brought a friend this time. John is extremely welcoming and the property is lovely. It was wet with the recent rain, but other than a small water crossing you were able to stay pretty clean and dry. Brianna A.

Frequently asked questions about Pomeroy dog hiking trails
Why are private dog hiking trails better than public dog parks in Pomeroy?
Private dog hiking trails in Pomeroy eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Pomeroy's 3 private dog hiking trails offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.
How safe are Pomeroy dog hiking trails compared to public dog parks?
Pomeroy dog hiking trails are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Pomeroy dog hiking trails eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.
Are Pomeroy dog hiking trails safe for reactive dogs?
Pomeroy owners of reactive dogs choose dog hiking trails because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy natural exploration and varied terrain while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Pomeroy reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.
Can anxious dogs safely use Pomeroy dog hiking trails?
Yes! Pomeroy dog hiking trails provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment at their own pace without stress. Many Pomeroy dog hiking trails offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.
Are Pomeroy dog hiking trails good for small dogs?
Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Pomeroy dog hiking trails because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Pomeroy avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog hiking trails eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.
Do Pomeroy dog hiking trails work for senior dogs?
Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Pomeroy dog hiking trails because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Pomeroy dog hiking trails with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.
What do Pomeroy dog owners say about dog hiking trails?
Reviews of Pomeroy dog hiking trails consistently highlight: excellent privacy for all dog types, secure fencing that prevented escapes, clean and well-maintained spaces, responsive hosts, and safe environments for anxious, fearful, reactive, senior, and small dogs. Read reviews to see real experiences from Pomeroy dog owners with similar needs.
How clean and maintained are Pomeroy dog hiking trails?
Pomeroy hosts maintain their own dog hiking trails and take pride in providing excellent experiences. All guests must have vaccinated dogs (or titers). Many Pomeroy hosts provide poop bags, trash cans, and regular cleaning. Reviews highlight maintenance quality—browse Pomeroy dog hiking trail listings to see real feedback about cleanliness and upkeep.
