55This is the 3rd time we have visited this spot. My Lola always has a blast and sleeps most of the day when we get home. Huge grass lot, fully fenced, and buckets of water with access to a hose if needed.
I will be hosting Lola's 3rd bday party here. So much room for her Mama and siblings to run and play.
Plan on making this "our spot" and come regularly. Amanda B.

55This place was absolutely beautiful! My dogs had the best time we’ve ever had at a sniff spot and the owners were very kind and respectful of the space we were renting! Couldn’t recommend enough!Joanna H.

55Second visit, just as great as the first. Fantastic space for giant dog breeds to run, practice recalls, and just generally enjoy some time off leash in a safe space. Kristie was very responsive to an accidental near meeting between my dogs and hers. All was OK, mistakes happen, and the quick communication was excellent. Landa R.

55Fantastic, definitely coming back! Easy to find and very close to suburbia, but wonderfully remote with hills and ranches surrounding. Wear good shoes and bring a towel for paws, this is not a manicured city park - it's an amazing doggy playground! My dog loved smelling and exploring everything. She scaled the hill with squirrel holes, ran across the meadow, sniffed through the oak leaves, climbed on the logs, and took in the surrounding scenery. She did get excited when we saw some horses in a neighboring property, and we also saw chicken, geese, and neighborhood dogs - none were able to approach the SniffSpot fence, so we felt very safe and my dog who is quite sensitive was able to work through her excitement on her own! The host is wonderful as well, answered my questions in advance promptly and came to say hi through the fence after we got settled in. There was one spot with soft earth and some digging near the fence, likely wildlife, but of note for anyone with very serious, tiny escape artists and diggers. Overall, 10/10, great place for a dog to just be a dog and we will be back!Clair H.

55Great big space for a my big guy to explore. Easy to find and perfectly secluded for my rottie that has social issues with strangers. Kristie was even kind enough to give me a heads up that a client was dropping off a dog elsewhere on the property.John W.

55My Lola enjoyed this spot. I was a bit worried about the cow poo. Lola is a Lab and tends to eat everything but she wasn't phased by the poo. Huge lot, nice bark covered hill for fun climbing. Lola is ball obsessed so plenty of room to fetch. Great place to keep your pup safe during this virus. Will return the first week of January and bring another friend with us. Definitely will return. 🐾🐾Amanda B.

55This was an awesome place! The perimeter is very well fenced - there are a few teeny tiny gaps where a super small, super determined dog *might* be able to get through, but they clearly maintain the fence very very well. My dog is 45 lbs and a proven escape artist, and I felt safe letting her run here. The neighborhood is pretty quiet, and the views were beautiful! A bonus: even after a full day of rain, the ground was firm. Winnie B.

55Such a beautiful meadow, and so much to sniff! The fencing is very secure and has even been reinforced in some areas. Horses are visible but still a ways away. Lots of room to run and lots of things to sniff. No distractions from the car to the spot, and appreciate the garbage cans at the entrance and the clean drinking water on the site. What a beautiful property, thank you for sharing it with us!K G.

55Great spot, very open, lots of room for dogs to run full speed. The sniffspot is easy to locate with well posted signs. There is a dedicated parking spot right across from the spot.
There are neighbor dogs that barked but didn't last for long. The excitement of a big open space and new smells kept my dogs occupied. There were a few cow pies, but they were avoidable, and my dogs largely ignored them.
All in all, a great spot for dogs and the hill makes for some great cardio for the owners, too! We will definitely be booking again.Jessica B.

55Huge open space, green, and fully fenced! Our mini aussie was in love. You will hear dogs and other animals but they are not visible. There are some holes in the ground so be careful if your dog is on the smaller side. All in all, we love the space and will try to make regular visits. Shahryar (Shawn) N.

55Plenty of safely fenced space for giant dogs to get a good run going. The neighbor dogs got agitated and barked, but no one seemed too upset that my dogs barked back. Most of our time here was peaceful and quiet. Something to note if you have a dog who eats things they shouldn't - the pasture was used by big livestock fairly recently so there is lots of manure. Definitely watch your step and you'll be just fine. Kristie gives great directions and was easy to communicate with. Well marked, all the amenities are as stated, and within my budget. It was worth the drive, for sure. We will be back!
Tip for people who might be worried about not having access to a restroom after a bit of a drive: Calero Reservoir County Park is just a couple of miles away and has portable toilets and washstands.Landa R.

55The yard is shaded and much cooler than the surrounding area so my dog could play longer safely. There is grass, dirt, concrete, and tan bark. There is a gorgeous overhanging avocado tree and a couple avocados were in the yard. If your dog eats random things on the ground, you might want to do a scan first or pick a different spot. (Avocados are toxic to dogs.) There are some foxtail grasses but 10 minutes of weeding could nullify it. It doesn't overpower the space and it is native afterall. We did see wildlife! We saw lizards and beetles which were very cool. My dog had a fun time and it's such a cool hidden spot. I wish there was a bowl or water jugs kept inside the fence and might leave some myself for future visits and other people. My dog is XL (125 lbs) and this spot did not feel cramped. It is secure and I would recommend it. Also very kid friendlyTatum H.

FAQ about our Prunedale dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 97% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Prunedale area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 27 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 6 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
