This was a great spot. Fully fenced. The owner had two chairs out there. Beautiful place. Keep in mind This is a field so the grass is long.

very nice large amount of land to let your dogs run around in. it was well maintained pasture. It is a lot of open grass so just be aware of things like ticks and wildlife poop. we had a very fun time running around and just letting my dogs sniff. both of my dogs have great recall but we always choose to keep them on long lines. I didn’t observe the fence very well but I wouldn’t recommend any sniff spot you go to let your dog off leash without a solid recall anyway. very scenic drive there as well. beautiful place to relax my dogs were worn out just from sniffing and walking around after 30 minutes. owner was quick to respond to questions I had and made sure we had a great experience! it’s a bit of a drive here for us but we hope to go back as it’s one of the more spacious sniff spots in the area!

We had a blast at this Sniffspot! The yard is large with a lot of privacy from neighboring yards. The owner was very kind as well. The yard was dry and there is wire between the wood fencing so there are no gaps.

We have been to Derby City play yard several times and each time it is an awesome experience. It’s wonderful for the dogs and for the people! Shady places to relax, lots of room to run, and quiet space to relax and listen to the birds.

This is a lovely, clean and spacious spot with plenty of shade and seating. Nice size for larger dogs to get a full speed run. Jannette has made this a welcoming SniffSpot for owners as well as and dogs ! Would come again when I am traveling through.

This was my two dogs first time here and they had such a blast, the owner is super nice and respectful. The area has lots of shade and seating available. It’s clean as well, the fence was very nice, we were not worried once that our dogs would get out. We will definitely be coming back again!

Wonderful, laidback experience!Jessica responded right away when I reached out and she took time to answer all my questions. I was able to book for the next hour; she had a range of time slots. Most places I have seen either only have evening slots or very limited availability. Regarding our experience, Leo loved having a chance to zoom around off leash. We were looking for a quiet, relaxing place to run and play. It was a fully private experience- we were the only ones there. Also, loved being on a property with different play areas. This one included back woods to explore, an open yard area to play fetch, and a fenced in area with lots of toys and water! Will 100% visit again!

Great spot! There is a fenced in deck and back yard that is nice for relaxing and then a larger unfenced wooded area that my dogs enjoyed sniffing and exploring. There was water, toys, ample shaded seating, and a kiddie pool!

My favorite sniff spot so far! The yard is huge, beautiful, clean, well maintained, loads of room to run and plenty of shade and cool spots. There was a bowl of fresh water and even lots of shiny new tennis balls. Totally worth the money to see my dogs so happy and relaxed.

Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.

With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 96% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Shelbyville area are 5 stars.
