The Gulch Pool

Welcome to our dog pool! Yup, that’s right, we designed this pool specifically for dogs!!!! We have 3 large benches that accommodate dogs of all sizes (some benches are more shallow/deeper than others), plus a step that goes all the way around the pool for dogs to walk on. In addition to that, we have a step in the deep end that makes it easy for the dogs to get in and out of the pool! We also have bubblers inside of the pool (the dogs go crazy over these) and then outside of the pool we have fountains that shoot into the pool! This is literally a dream pool for dogs and dog owners! The pool is surrounded by artificial turf and a gorgeous view! We can’t wait for you to check out our pool! Please note, this spot is right next to our home, we too have dogs and they can be seen through our windows! If you would like to book more than 2 hours, please send us a message.

Monty's Playground

We have approximately 0.25 acres of fenced yard with several locations of seating for the humans, 3 water stations for the pups & a hose for more water when needed, dog bags, garbage, several balls, a throwing arm to play fetch, several toys, a kiddie pool for pups to cool off, and an agility course. We also leave treats on the table for each pup.

Or use area for training one on one with your canine. An enjoyable experience noted by all guests visiting!! When you book a time it will just be you occupying the dog park. Welcome!! Sorry, no porta potty available, as it was put there by landscapers while they worked on property. Please do not book the 230pm time slot Mon-Fri if you have a reactive dog. Book the 3pm time slot as I rent the field out to a dog walker who leaves with many cars of dogs around 230pm or slightly thereafter, so that you do not cross paths with one another. Agility equipment area has just been added to sniffspot. Enter through secondary gate within sniffspot.Enjoy your visit!! Sometimes I have time slots available that do not show on calendar. You can message me and see if there is any availability on any particular day that may seem to be fully booked.

Poolside Lounge & Play for Pups & Their People

Lounge beside the pool while your pups play and sniff to their heart's content. Read your book in the egg swing or drink your beverage stretched out on a chase lounge. You and your pups are all welcome to use the pool but be forewarned, it is not heated and very chilly until warmed by the summer heat. Some dogs can't resist a pool. Please encourage them to do so with your careful supervision. Call dogs out of the pool at any sign of cold or distress, including shivering, coughing, or submerging. There is no bathroom available for humans. Dogs can use the yard, of course. Please clean up after them with bags provided, and dispose of all waste in the gray tote outside the gate. Park*facing* the white brick wall in front of the house, to the *right* of the driveway. Walk up the driveway past the tent trailer, and enter through the gate on the left. Bring towels, a chucker, your picnic lunch, and have fun!

Beautiful 1 plus acre with Porta potty and water buckets. Some trees for shade- bring a beach chair . We try our best to keep the perimeter mowed during Spring so you can enjoy walking and playing fetch. Views of Sonoma Mountain. Straight up the driveway (no turning left or right) dead end in gravel driveway and park in front of the railroad crossing sign that has a Sniffspot poster. Bring your muckers in the wet months and walk laps with your pup(s). Offers different view perspectives :). In winter we encourage you to gear up and enjoy the soft rain. Dogs love rain ! We offer a fully fenced space for your dog to run, play, or swim. Towel, toys and water are available. The doggie parents can enjoy a putting green while the dogs play. Feel free to join your dog for a swim on these hot days.

Fully Fenced, Peaceful, Beautiful Dog Park

A beautiful fenced-in 3+ acre parcel with hills, a few trees, areas with short and tall grass. Dogs absolutely love it here. Occasionally we’ll see wild turkeys and a few deer (and a gopher or squirrel here and there) but otherwise it is a dog roaming paradise. Easy to pull in and park on the gravel area. I have dog bowls, a few toys, 3 pooper scoopers, emergency poop bags, and a couple of washing stations. Cell reception is reasonably good here.

Joy Ridge Sanctuary with over 2 Acres of Redwoods and Gardens

Welcome to our private oasis (we will not be home when you visit!) with over 2 fully fenced acres of redwoods and gardens in Occidental with a park-like setting. Dogs and their families can journey the meandering paths and trails to explore gardens, redwoods, seasonal fruit trees (you are welcome to try it) and endless relaxing areas with hammocks, benches, tables/chairs and even a covered outdoor bed. There is an indoor rustic lounge with sofa and table/chairs where we provide complimentary coffee/tea, water and treats for humans and dogs, dog toys/wipes/towels/blankets/waste bags, disposable rain ponchos for people and a covered outdoor patio with a sitting area to enjoy the redwoods. The bathroom is accessible from the main deck and has a sign on the door. Our redwoods sanctuary is perfect for celebrations, gatherings and private recharging in nature for dogs and their families. Only 15 min drive to dog friendly beaches, 10 min to 'Grove of Old Trees' (dog friendly) and to downtown in Occidental which is known for its shops, galleries and a famous dog friendly Howard Station Cafe. It's also an 8 min drive to 'St. Teresa of Avila Church' in Bodega where Alfred Hitchcock's film 'The Birds' was filmed. If you are visiting with little humans, please enjoy our outdoor toddler playground, swing set, an outdoor mud kitchen with kids' picnic table and a large sandbox with toys. There are also toys and books for kids in the lounge (under the coffee/tea bar table). If you have any questions, please reach out anytime so we can make your visit a wonderful experience! HOT WEATHER INFORMATION Our sanctuary is high up along the forested ridge, which exposes it to fog and cooler offshore breezes. You can visit anytime of the day - the property is over 80% shaded and much cooler in hot weather due to a heavy redwood canopy that serves as a natural air conditioner. The temperature is 6-10F lower (depending on the fog and time of the day) than the weather forecast for Occidental. We also added a 'Splash Zone' under a 1000+ year old redwood tree for pups to enjoy.

Oakland backyard for your doggy to run!

I have a large space that I am sure a dog will love to run in. In the winter, post rain, it can get VERY muddy back there. Years of dogs running around has torn up a lot of the ground cover and it's now just dirt, which becomes mud in the winter. In the summer, the "grass" (more weeds than actual grass) gets very dry. There are some burrs due to the dryness so if your dog has longer fur they might get some attached to them. I do my best to weed the weeds that produce them, but there still might be some. It's a fairly large open space with a longer run on the side. Also, I want to note that in the back of the property the fence is lower, around 4/4.5 feet (the rest of the yard is at least 6 feet), so if your dog is a good jumper, this could be an issue. Happy playing!

Also please only 2 human guests max with the dogs. Thank you!*** Great yard with 6ft fence all around it in West Oakland. Perfect for hanging out or training with your dog or letting him or her roam free for an hour (or more!) while you get things done. Completely secured with extra gate between font and backyard. All breeds and dogs of any size are welcome but please leave yard as you found it (broom and trash can provided!) The spot is walking distance to West Oakland Bart station (About 10-12 minute walk). We have neighbors on either side of our home but it’s a very quiet neighborhood overall. Please do note that occasionally you can hear a dog barking from houses in the neighborhood or voices of neighbors enjoying their yard. There are chairs and a coffee table on the patio for your use, if desired, while your dogs explores. A bowl with water and a hose is provided.
