Leah’s Sanctuary

Truly a perfect experience! I’ve lived here for 15 years and this area only gets better with age! You will easily park at the public parking lot. Within walking distance is a dog friendly Brewery with daily food trucks, a Marcos pizza, Coffee shop. Feel free to stop at one of those before your time and bring your snack to the yard to enjoy. We have a picnic table, relaxing covered porch, and zero gravity swing with cupholders. The short .02 walk to and from the parking lot to the yard will provide you with everything you need. You will walk past a public metropark restroom, a drinking fountain (with dog dish), doggy bags (always stocked by the park), and garbage can. It truly is a gift to live here that I am happy to share with you and your furbaby. If you are interested the metropark path also goes all the way to the river, and it’s a beautiful walk in a very nice/ quiet neighborhood. Accessiblilty from parking to backyard. There is a semi steep hill from the bike path to the back gate, that has bumps and grass. Otherwise it should be accessible via wheelchair with help, I’ve pushed a stroller down this many times. If this is an issue or you are nervous please reach out and I can give you an alternative front gate entrance instruction as well. There are three transitions to get to the yard, but they are all flush and on the same level: parking lot > restrooms > bike path to back gate is bumpy and grass, but not steps. The yard isn't flat and the patio isn't ADA compliant (two small step up to it), but access to and from the space the dog would enjoy is accessible with help. So far I’ve not had a need but I look forward to sharing the area with a guest who would appreciate it. I do Rover dog sit frequently so feel free to grab a business card on the porch. I will leave the baby pool for your pup if you are interested free of charge. (Just make sure to let me know so I remember to put it out for you) I know you will enjoy it, because we do everyday! All dog sizes welcome and kid friendly. NOTE: Small dogs will be able to get under back of fence! 🐾Thank you 🐾

Megan had everything I could have needed and more! Baby wipes and rags to wipe dirty paws, toys, a bowl, water, and poop bags and even a pooper scooper! My dog loved to run and sniff around in the large backyard! The gaps in the fence were so small that I never worried for a second that my dog would get out. I will definitely be coming back! Thanks Megan 😊

We were so excited to book here! Megan responded so quickly when we messaged her. She prepped her yard, and notified us that she would leave water bowls, toys, poop bags etc. out for our pup. She was very accommodating about parking as well. Unfortunately, we had a family emergency and we’re unable to follow through with our reservation. Our host was EXCELLENT. She so kindly refunded our reservation, and went above and beyond for us. I recommend her to anyone!

Excellent experience! Host was prompt and very friendly. The yard was large, secure, and great to explore. Our dog is normally very anxious but had a great time (even with the chickens!). Host provided treats, toys, water, pool, chairs.

Erin's dog play and run was our first Sniffspot adventure. We booked it only 2 hours in advance and weren't sure what to expect, but Erin exceeded our expectations. We met her in the driveway, she showed us to the backyard, and talked us through the process. She also provided several water bowls, treats, a basket of toys, and a kiddie pool. Ellie had a blast! There were a few gaps in the fence that Erin warned us about, but my dog is big enough (50 lbs) that it wasn't an issue. Thank you, Erin, for a very positive first experience!

Great spot with lots of space to run around! The only thing is that my dogs got a little reactive when they saw the goats in the opposing yard. They were on the other side of the driveway, so if your dogs are fine with seeing animals I highly recommend this place!

Very nice spot well kept yard. Easy in and out there is a nice turn around spot to park just as you enter.. There were toys and water for the dogs.. and we signed in.. we did bring some of our own toys and water but... kinda funny how a dogs favorite toy isn't favorite when they find new ones!! We will be back!!

A great location for my energetic pup! There is room to walk around, shaded areas, doggy water in several spots. There is even a pool if your dog chooses. We had a great time enjoying the sun and burning off energy! There are tons of toys, seating, poo bags available, and even a fire pit! We will be coming back!

What an amazing space! The grass is green and well taken care of, signage makes it super easy to find, and it’s a huge enclosure. It was easy to navigate to from I-90 and not too far out of the way as a stop to let my dog get some energy out on our trip across the country. Would definitely recommend!

FAQ about our Toledo dog parks

Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 0% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Toledo area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 74 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 12 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby.
