Horse Farm in Lovettsville

Partially Fenced
28 acres

Come for our glorious sunrises on the creek and sunsets in the fields or just to enjoy the day exploring the fields and creek. The dog area starts past the broken black fence behind the house and goes down through the fields and into the woods. I would appreciate it if you would kindly please keep the dogs leashes and wait until you are past the broken fence to allow your dog to do any business. If your dog is under control or if the horses are not out, you can let them loose right after the broken fence. If you think your dog might be nutty with the horses, please take appropriate measures. To get to the creek, go past the broken fence and keep going down the hill to the back tree line. I have included a map in the pictures. And then just keep walking; it’s about five minutes from the house to the trailhead. We have set out fluorescent yellow markers on the trees on the back tree line as you approach the trail. We also put up a blue sign that says “To The Creek” at the trail head. Once in the woods, walk down the steep hill and take the trail to the right at the bottom of the hill, before the little ravine. That trail will take you out to a spot where your dog can splash around and I’ve cut a few trails to explore back there. If you go to the red barn, you’ve gone too far. The trail is right at the base of the hill. We are looking forward to having you and please reach out if you need anything special or want to chat before coming.

Frequently asked questions about Amissville dog hiking trails

What amenities do Amissville dog hiking trails typically include?

Amissville dog hiking trails feature amenities designed for natural exploration and varied terrain: wooded trails, open meadows, and varied natural terrain, secure fencing options, water stations, waste disposal, and often extras like toys, shade structures, or parking. Unlike public parks with generic setups, Amissville hosts customize their spaces. Browse 12 listings to compare—from bare essentials to luxury amenities perfect for your dog's needs.

How much does it cost to use Amissville dog hiking trails?

Sniffspot runs on a membership model with monthly and annual plans that include credits toward Amissville dog park bookings. Members get discounted rates at participating Amissville spots, and new users can start with a 7-day free trial. There are no surprise booking fee. Your credits cover the reservation. Browse Amissville dog hiking trails listings to see individual spot pricing, and check your membership dashboard to see how many credits you have available.

How clean are private dog hiking trails in Amissville compared to public parks?

Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in Amissville see dozens of dogs daily with sporadic city maintenance. Private dog hiking trails have dedicated hosts who maintain their own spaces—cleanliness directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many Amissville hosts provide fresh poop bags, sanitized water stations, and regular grounds cleaning. With only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal.

Can I book Amissville dog hiking trails on short notice?

Usually yes! Many Amissville dog hiking trails offer same-day or next-day availability with instant booking. Unlike public parks that might be crowded unpredictably, Amissville private dog hiking trails let you reserve exactly when needed: early morning before work, midday breaks, evening exercise. Real-time availability shows on each listing—perfect for last-minute training or when routines get disrupted.

What's the best time to visit dog hiking trails in Amissville?

Any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks in Amissville that are crowded during peak hours (mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't worry about timing. Book when it fits YOUR schedule—midday when it's quiet, dawn for cool weather, late evening for convenience. Many Amissville dog hiking trails have lighting for after-dark visits. This flexibility is perfect for shift workers or dogs with special needs.

Do Amissville dog hiking trails allow multiple dogs?

Yes! Most Amissville dog hiking trails welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings), but generally you can bring your whole pack. This is perfect for multi-dog households in Amissville where some dogs are selective—they can play together privately without outside interference. Great for sibling bonding or families with mixed ages/temperaments.

Can I use Amissville dog hiking trails for special events?

Many Amissville dog hiking trails welcome doggy birthday parties, training workshops, breed meetups, or group playdates. Private bookings mean your event won't be interrupted. Coordinate with Amissville hosts about capacity, amenities (parking, shade, water), and any restrictions. Some even provide party extras. Check individual Amissville dog hiking trail listings for event policies.

How do Amissville dog hiking trails accommodate dogs with special needs?

Amissville dog hiking trails are excellent for special needs dogs because you can filter for specific requirements: flat terrain for mobility issues, secure fencing for blind/deaf dogs, quiet locations for anxious dogs, small spaces for seniors, or maximum privacy for reactive dogs. Read reviews from other Amissville special-needs dog owners, and contact hosts with questions. The private setting means you can adapt the experience to your dog's unique requirements.
