Beautiful isolated 13-acre spot in the country. There is a clear, well-maintained marked trail through the woods to an area with springs, a creek, and a watershed. Moving on down the 1/4 mile driveway past the house is a path down to the Tye River that has a nice-sized riverbank (beach) for romping and water splashing. Swimming dogs can venture onto the rocks to explore the river. Those who want to exercise can hike up/down the stream, climb big rocks, and other obstacles. This highly wooded area has lots to explore “off path” and on path, so you can never experience everything in one visit. This is heaven for dogs and for those who prefer a challenging exploration vs a standard field or yard to explore. The walk to the creek/springs/watershed is a beautiful, relatively easy walk. The river walk, while there is a trail, is pretty steep and rocky, and it's a good workout to get back up. Join us at Bear’s Creek for an adventure your dog will thank you for! The Burton Family Farm is a family-owned, 49-acre farm. It’s open, clear land, with a 3 acre pond, a beautiful spot in Holly Corner. Someone is at home, on the property, 24 hours a day. Easy to get to, we are located right off route 17 & 5 miles from 95, right behind Stafford Lakes. My family has lived in Holly Corner since the 1800s, it is safe and quiet. My husband and I have a little peace of heaven here in the Shenandoah Valley! Our goal is to provide a space for all dogs to play, run and sniff away! We have a huge field with a platform/ramps, tug rope, agility poles, stick collection, hidden container with treats and possibly a prize toy! We host many special events for pups as well as birthday parties for your pups! I spent many years volunteering, fostering and ultimately adopting many animals from rescue non-profits over the years. Throughout all of the years I spent in animal rescues, I realized that most dogs don’t get much time outside of the kennels. I also came to understand that many rescue animals have trauma related behaviors and cannot integrate with other dogs. I feel so grateful to be able to provide a space for dogs to be off leash and have the freedom to explore! Also, it is a significant bonding experience for pups and their parents to have this special time together!
