55Great yard!! Low fence so if your dog is a jumper, might not be the best. My dogs are not jumpers so this yard was perfect! Lots of space for them to run!! This is the biggest yard I have found in Ballard. Emily B.

55The gate opens one way so if you're having trouble, try the other way as I always seem to pick the wrong one. 😃 Great place for zoomies and training for distractions at distance as there are occasionally people walking/running, some with dogs or strollers, on the sidewalks so useful for training for that if your dog needs it or just zooming around!Julia P.

55This is a nice spot. The instructions were clear , there were chairs , a table, drinking water and paper bowls for the pups and a trash can for waste. We had a really nice time hiking around and then just relaxed in the chairs while the pups were able to wander and explore and enjoy some stick throwing. I will note that we did see someone on the trail picking blackberrys which were a plenty, but the host did mention that. He quickly left. I’m glad we still had our pups on their leash as they are reactive. After that they were let off and free to roam and sniff. We did not see any more humans and saw or heard no other dogs. If your dogs are reactive i would keep them on leash until you reach the chairs. Great time to be had by all!Denise R.

55The newly added trails are great! Walking slowly through snow with a few stops here and there it took about an hour to walk all of them. Paul left a map showing the new trails out at the entrance, which made it really easy to find them. Some sections of trail still have a lot of blackberry shoots coming up, but that will just take time. Paul clearly cares about making his property welcoming and easy to navigate. I will visit again soon!Heidi S.

55We loved it! Clean trails to explore and room to toss sticks. A little tricky to find because we kept going left up the hill instead of staying straight to the end of the road. Once we were there we had so much fun!! Definitely will be back. Heidi L.

55This is one of the best places to take your dog(s) for an outing! It has so many different adventure options suitable for dogs of all ages and abilities. There are well worn paths through a forested property where you may see the tracks of a family of deer who use the trails, and your dog may detect the odors of raccoons, squirrels, and rabbits and may actually see one. Of course there is a lot of bird song. Two of the trails go near small ponds and the frogs croak out their mating songs until they detect a presence.
There are some relatively new side trails the host has put in and they are for the slightly more adventurous as they are a little rougher, but I'm a 76 year old woman and I found them easy enough and interesting and my dog was delighted. He even went bounding off onto some trails that must have been made by the animals who live out there.
The first new trail begins to the right just a little way past the entrance and leads around by one of the ponds which is not a place for wading or dog paddling--there are many little willow trees growing up in it and a dog might want to sniff around the edges but is unlikely to do more than that. That side trail leads back to the well-worn path. Turn right as you come to it and you'll come to the central area where there is a little table with a map on it and two chairs and a trash can for doggie doo bags.
From there you can go straight up the slight slant to a loop around some big trees and there are two trails that take off from that loop, too. Or from that central area, you can turn left and continue a short way to a trail on the left that will come out near the beginning of the SniffSpot where your car is parked. That trail is one used by the deer so you may spot some tracks.
Keep your eye out on all the trails for little rock or stick constructions made by the wee forest folk and on the trail that goes to the loop there's a piece of wood on the left where they stash their tiny white quartz stones. I like to add one or two if I find any on the trails.
Oh. I advise you to wear walking shoes rather than sandals, especially on the newer trails. This is a wonderful place to experience and enjoy the peace of being surrounded by nature.
On the loop trail you may hear a horse whinny as there is a big pasture nearby and you might hear an occasional dog from neighboring houses and the sounds of children playing, but those are natural sounds, too.Linda S.

55Was a lovely place to take my dog for a private walk. The parking was clearly marked, with a nice sign showing we had the spot reserved, and a printed map to take with which I really appreciated! There were a variety for short paths to walk along. The main paths are clear and straight so have good visibility. Some of the side paths are less cleared, but that made for fun exploring. There is a nice place to take a break in the middle of the spot with chairs and some water. My dog and I really enjoyed our time there.Suz A.

55Oh my goodness— what heaven!!! my heart smiled when I drove up and saw the adorable personalized sign. And kept smiling as I watched my dogs race around and explore and sniff and check in with a smile. there are so few places to safely and legally allow your dogs to truly be dogs. Decompression walks off leash are an essential component to canine mental health. This sniffspot is a wonderful bit of paradise. Thank you for opening up your lovely property for our enjoyment. It really means a lot.Gemma Z.

55Very nice spot to explore. I so appreciated the welcoming sign with our names, very special touch. The trails were fun and easy to walk, and took about an hour. There was a separate entrance to the trails off another road, and I was pleased that it was signed indicating the trail was in use.
All trails looped back to the original main, so no worries getting turned around. There was even a small bridge that our pup worked up the courage to try before jumping back after a couple steps. Paul posted a nice map at the entrance with orientation, which came in handy!
The private property sign at the end of the main trail was slightly confusing for a split moment, as we weren’t sure if the trail bordered the property line or went into the private property as the map showed a smaller trail off the loop, so we used our gps to confirm we were indeed heading north into private property, then backtracked and found the small trail that paralelled the main.
There was a Golden Retriever at the house across from the parking lot that agressively came to the fence growling and barking, which caused some angst for our pup, but that was the only “watch out.” We’ll know to let her in and out of the car on the woods-side of the car next time. All told, great experience, thoughtful host, and we’ll be back.Vanessa B.

55This is a sweet spot! It's in the woods but the light diffuses through the leaves and there's a nice dustless cross breeze which would be nice and cool on a summer day. The trails are thoughtfully maintained - some enough for a person needing to use a cane - self at the moment! Others look rugged enough to make you forget you're minutes from civilization. The environment seems to reflect the personable nature of the host Paul who sent a brief email before our arrival. Will definitely go again. Lisa W.

55Tons of space to let my dog run! We had a fun time and will likely book it again when we just need some private off-leash time without worrying about other dogs. There was a small hole in a part of the fence though, so if you have a very small dog they might be able to escape. The owner provided fresh water for us, and there were tons of tennis balls. 55My dog enjoyed fetching in this beautiful and spacious backyard. The neighborhood is quiet. We noticed a gap at the back fence on the right side so keep an eye if your dog is an escape artist. My dog is very ball focused so she did not explore that section. They provided a water dish and a small trash can for poop bags, which was really nice. We'll bring our dog here again!Kaoru W.

FAQ about our Beaver dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 76% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Beaver area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 1 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 1 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
Where in Beaver can I find a pool for dog swimming?
