Hound Hill Rustic 1 Acre Fenced Private Dog Park in West Avon

Located at the far end of a culdesac, Hound Hill is a fully fenced one acre wooded doggy paradise. We have cleared brush and are working to remove leaves and sticks for easier walking and playing with your dog. Our fence is mesh critter fence which is wildlife friendly for the deer, bears, bobcats and other animals that travel through our property. If you are looking for a large space for fetch or just to let your dog explore then this is the place! When you arrive please take time to walk the fence line with your dog on leash first to ensure the fence is intact. Due to the nature of critter fencing and the abundance of wild life we have had occasional breaks caused by deer and bear as well as branches that have fallen. If you spot any issue please message the host and they will immediately address the issue. We love this fence because it does not entangle the wild animals and is very easy to repair. This means we have to inspect it often, and we do, but for the safety of all we encourage each doggie chaperone to do their own visual inspection before allowing dogs free rein. We do treat the area with cedar oil for ticks. We do not use any herbicides or pesticides or fertilizer. Please pull all the way into the drive and park in the gravel spot to the left of the garage. Do not block the garage doors. Enter and exit through the gate directly in front of the parking spot. Please do not use the gate on the other side of the lot for any reason. Please do not enter the small fenced area directly off the back of the house, this area is not part of the dog park. Please note that the dog park is on a hill and there are no paved or flat areas within the park. It is recommended that you wear good shoes with traction and are comfortable walking through an unimproved wooded area. There are rocks, sticks, leaves and uneven terrain. If you have physical limitations this park may be very difficult for you to use. Please pick up after your dog. Removal of dog waste is imperative in order for us to continue to offer this spot.

Vickies Downback is such an incredible spot for our 2 dogs to run and play. It was the first time our 10 month old puppy was off leash and she had a blast. The park is immaculate and totally secure. We'll be back!

Exceeded my expectations! The property, supplies and fencing were immaculate and there was plenty of fresh water provided. The terrain was a blast for my dude to climb and run through- he stopped only to rehydrate😂. The human seating options were greatly appreciated, as well!

Absolutely lovely place. Secluded, clean, multi terrain, drinking water & toys were available for Rocco. A picnic table was also available so we could rest ourselves & eat our lunch. Rocco’s home now & he’s exhausted from playing & exploring. I’ve never seen him so content & happy. Thank you, Vicky ‘s Downback Private Dog Park for providing such a great area for us to enjoy!

We just had the best experience here. My girls got to run, wrestle, play fetch and completely exhaust themselves-and I was not stressed at all. It seriously is such a relief having a private area. The park itself was immaculate, tennis balls provided, clean drinking water and even poop bags easily accessible all over. I will be booking again-very soon. There’s even seating. Highly worth the money.

Excellent communication from the owner. Property is perfect for my two border collies. Different terrains to explore (rocky, grassy, hilly). Chairs for the pets owners in good condition and water/clean up bags available. Can’t wait to return!

This was our first Sniffspot booking and what a wonderful experience. Host communicated well prior to visiting. Fresh water, waste bin, super safe fence and chuck-it's. This spot is absolutely perfect for us. My boy loves exploring more woodsy areas and gets bored and has little interest with just an open grassy space. I loved the hilly landscape and the different spots for humans to sit and hang. Will absolutely book again even if it is a bit of a trek from our home. Thank you, Vicky!

We enjoyed our visit to Vicki's today with our dog, Ranger. This sniffspot is terrific! The terrain varies and is wide and long giving our dog the exercise and freedom he lives. Clean, safe, and secure in a pastoral setting. We may have enjoyed our stay as much as Ranger did!

Vicky was very informative, helpful and welcoming. The park has a secure fence and nice clean grounds. All of my dogs enjoyed climbing up onto the large rocks. We work quite a bit on their recalls, you can never practice those too much.

Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.

With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 95% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Bethlehem area are 5 stars.
