55Absolutely loved this property. Brad is lovely and welcoming. And the property is massive and plenty of room for the dogs to explore and practice recall. The one recommendation I have is to use a mapping app - we did it during fall so leaves were all over the ground and the trail was hard to see, so having the map handy to show us where we come from when coming back down was super helpful. Also, definitely wear sturdy hiking boots - some spots are understandably muddy and slippery!

55Amazing space, the dogs and I feel soooo lucky to get to share it! We didn’t do the whole hike, but walked for an hour enjoying zoomies, crunchy leaves, and beautiful winter light. Laura H.

55Brads Sniffspot is heaven on earth for both dogs and humans. Brad was very communicative, kind and flexible, and provided clear instructions. There was signage on all the property indicating where to park and where to go. The property itself is so beautiful, fun and safe to explore and there’s so.much.space. The trail is amazing! We’ll definitely be back. Thanks again Brad! Nicole G.

55Enjoyed Halloween hiking here. Some spot has lot of leaves on the ground and could see the color changed at top of the hill. Really nice fall hiking. Of course, my dogs had to soak at the creek at the end of hiking as usual. Akane M.

55We had a great time up here! The hike is wonderful with lots of beautiful things along the way. It is a steep hike and you’ll definitely need hiking shoes, but it’s well worth the hike up! Instructions are clear and easy to follow. We will be back for sure! Isabella T.

55Great spot - actual trails and hiking. lots of space to roam and play. We did the hike that’s mentioned in the description and found that 2.5 hrs gave us enough time to be leisurely about it. If you’re short like me and want to go at a faster pace, you might consider bringing along hiking poles - especially if it’s been raining. The trail was dry for this trip but I would have wanted a bit more stability for going downhill if it had rained recently.
There’s a few spots that require getting through a bit of somewhat thorny overgrowth so plan accordingly with what you wear. We didn’t encounter wildlife other than birds but Mozi’s nose definitely caught some interesting scents a few times so I kept him on a long line. This trails at the Sniffspot are well maintained and clear so didn’t have any trouble w long line getting caught and Mozi had plenty of fun running free.
Gps/cell signal is patchy driving in this area so I recommend folks download the map to/from.
All in all, worth a visit if you’re in the area! Sudha N.

55I love hiking and this was the perfect place for me and my reactive dog. The property is amazing and the trails are clear and wide. I just booked for 1.5 hr and it wasn't enough, next time I will book for two hours because I feel I didn't explore the whole territory. Bring a bottle of water for your dog, mine was panting once we were up the hill and looking for water but still he had a chance to drink from the creek on our way back. I will go back again. We loved it😍.Veronika S.

55Awesome trail. Only really one little spot that makes me nervous that it isn’t fenced because it’s right by the road, but my dogs didn’t even notice. Then a big open field we got to play fetch on. SeanahLisa C.

55Wow! Such an awesome property. This was my first visit; my dog Teddy had a blast! He ran & ran, then got a cool drink from the creek. Beautiful woods with a trail to hike. Signage was clear, as well as access instructions. Wonderful Sniffspot to visit. Everything was great. Just be sure your pup stays leashed at the beginning of the trail because the road is nearby. On the way back Teddy got ahead of me and when I reached him he had just begun to walk in the road. Next time I'm in Mount Vernon we will be back!Jacki D.

55So much room for the dogs to run! Love this place and will definitely be back although probably not during the wet season as I can see how it would be pretty muddy and slippery then. There is one spot at the beginning as you are heading down the trail that it runs very close to the road so you may want to leave your dog(s) leashed until you pass this point and leash them up on the return for the same reason.Corey T.

55Lovely Sniffspot with wide paths and a good line of sight once you're out of the forest. Note that it might be a tricky spot for sound sensitive dogs, as we heard gunshots throughout our walk + the powerlines were quite noisy.Jenn G.

55Incredible spot to for dogs who love to hike but don’t do well with other dogs on the trail. Host provided excellent instructions for hiking up to the view point, the hike took us a little less than 90 minutes round trip but I’d suggest 2 hours for the first time so you don’t have to rush. Beautiful view from the top.Nina H.

Frequently asked questions about Brentwood Bay dog hiking trails
Why are private dog hiking trails better than public dog parks in Brentwood Bay?
Private dog hiking trails in Brentwood Bay eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Brentwood Bay's 12 private dog hiking trails offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.
How safe are Brentwood Bay dog hiking trails compared to public dog parks?
Brentwood Bay dog hiking trails are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Brentwood Bay dog hiking trails eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.
Are Brentwood Bay dog hiking trails safe for reactive dogs?
Brentwood Bay owners of reactive dogs choose dog hiking trails because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy natural exploration and varied terrain while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Brentwood Bay reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.
Can anxious dogs safely use Brentwood Bay dog hiking trails?
Yes! Brentwood Bay dog hiking trails provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment at their own pace without stress. Many Brentwood Bay dog hiking trails offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.
Are Brentwood Bay dog hiking trails good for small dogs?
Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Brentwood Bay dog hiking trails because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Brentwood Bay avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog hiking trails eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.
Do Brentwood Bay dog hiking trails work for senior dogs?
Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Brentwood Bay dog hiking trails because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Brentwood Bay dog hiking trails with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.
