Mark's 5 Acre Unfenced Private Dog Park In Kearneysville

There is a road bordering property. If your dog is off leash he/she needs strong recall. Also, pond is very muddy, I dont recommend swimming for dogs. There are a few short trails around the property. I don't have a lot of restrictions as I probably will be at the house when you are there. I only ask that visitors do not allow animals on house property such as porches and wood walkways. We are approachable if you see us outside and encourage it. Our beloved GSD 'Samantha' passed a year ago and we miss seeing her running through the fields. Deer on property daily but they will avoid you generally with canines. If your pet has an unhinged prey drive I'd probably bag it since I border several acres of wooded property with zero containment. Thick, unmanaged forest!

8ac farmhouse property with plenty of options for your dogs to roam around and play. There's plenty of grassy areas to pick from. Very private, quiet, and tucked away in the back away from the main road. We don't have any pets, so yours will be the only ones on the property, and we're rarely home. Feel free to use the triple fenced garden area before we start growing anything. There is new home construction up at the top of the hill they have their own short black fencing around the homes, so just stay beyond the fence. Water pump and doggie bowls available outside near the front right side of the home in front of the outhouse. Trashcans are available at the side of the house across from the shed near the trampoline. There's a basketball hoop and 🏀 if interested in playing as well as some swings for kids closer to the house. Feel free to use it. Lastly, please use Google Maps for navigation instead of Waze as it's the most updated one for finding the property. The way to operate the water pump is to pull the lever up and all the way back and wait a few seconds and the water will come out the hose. PS- if you're ever running late or got lost and some of your paid time is used up please feel free to stay a little longer to make up for it if no one else is booked immediately after you.

Come for our glorious sunrises on the creek and sunsets in the fields or just to enjoy the day exploring the fields and creek. The dog area starts past the broken black fence behind the house and goes down through the fields and into the woods. I would appreciate it if you would kindly please keep the dogs leashes and wait until you are past the broken fence to allow your dog to do any business. If your dog is under control or if the horses are not out, you can let them loose right after the broken fence. If you think your dog might be nutty with the horses, please take appropriate measures. To get to the creek, go past the broken fence and keep going down the hill to the back tree line. I have included a map in the pictures. And then just keep walking; it’s about five minutes from the house to the trailhead. We have set out fluorescent yellow markers on the trees on the back tree line as you approach the trail. We also put up a blue sign that says “To The Creek” at the trail head. Once in the woods, walk down the steep hill and take the trail to the right at the bottom of the hill, before the little ravine. That trail will take you out to a spot where your dog can splash around and I’ve cut a few trails to explore back there. If you go to the red barn, you’ve gone too far. The trail is right at the base of the hill. We are looking forward to having you!

There are open areas for dogs to stretch their legs and chase each other and flowers, shade and seating for their human companion(s). There is a 𝙢𝙖𝙣-𝙢𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢 (more detail below) in the back that depending on rainfall, may be running full or just at a trickle. It is ideal for your pup to explore and cool off in. The yard offers plenty of great 𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙩 opportunities to take tons of pictures throughout the various seasons. 🦋 The yard is a 𝘾𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙒𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙃𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩®, we are trying to help nature where and when we can. The flower beds have been designed for local critters - birds, turtles, pollinators, etc so absolutely no killing of any bees, butterflies, spiders, turtles, snakes, birds or other wildlife you may find. It also means you will likely encounter gnats, mosquitos and possibly ticks - all great bird food but not so nice for us humans and our pups. So please be sure your pup is current on their preventatives. We do provide bug spray for you to use - just be sure to use in the lawn and not near any of the flower beds. In the summer months grass may get a little taller to help out the fireflies. If you can, take a cool pic to share - we'd love to see it. 💉𝗩𝗔𝗖𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦: To help ensure a safe environment for visiting pups and our own, guests will need to provide current 𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 for rabies and DHPP (distemper, parvo, etc) for EACH dog visiting. Each dog visiting must have received their full round of puppy vaccines AND must be at least 5 months old. If you have questions, feel free to reach out. Once on file, you are good to go until their renewal date. If the vaccination info is not received 1 hour prior to your start time, your reservation will be cancelled. If you are interested in an appointment longer than 1 hour, please reach out and we'll see if we can accommodate. 💧 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗠 - This is a man-made stream that typically runs in the warmer months and is initially filled with either city water or rainfall. That said, Mother Nature adds to it, so we do recommend your pup have his/her 𝙇𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙤 vaccine. The stream is usually shutdown or just a trickle in the winter months with some water remaining at the end to help support the frogs overwinter. Please do not allow digging or rough play in the stream - we want to keep it in good shape for all our guests to enjoy and avoid costly repairs. If it is important to your visit that the stream is running and at what level (full/trickle) please reach out to the Host to check its status. 🐕 𝗗𝗢𝗚 𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗧 - Our site is set for a 5 dog limit. If you would like to bring additional dogs, please send a message. The request will be considered on a case by case basis. If you want a key date/time, I recommend securing it with a reservation for one dog and then updating the reservation once we have talked. 🐶 𝗦𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗗𝗢𝗚𝗦 - There are some spots at the bottom of the fence a small dog (cat size) might be able to get under - they are meant for our cats and other wildlife. If you are bringing a small dog, let me know and we can block the openings ahead of time. 🚗 𝗩𝗘𝗛𝗜𝗖𝗟𝗘 𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗧- 𝑴𝒂𝒙𝒊𝒎𝒖𝒎 𝒐𝒇 2 vehicles per reservation. If a 3rd vehicle will be brought, please select and add "Extra F - Extra Vehicle" to your reservation and send us a note so we can make sure there is sufficient space. 👶 𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗟𝗗𝗥𝗘𝗡 - Children under 18 are to be supervised at all times. Please message me if you want to visit and the time you want is blocked. I may be able to rearrange things! Hills, fields, rocks and a 1 acre farm pond to explore! Please park on the grass between the house and metal barn or on the gravel lot across from the house( but be aware of the electric fence if you park here.) Walk down the edge of the property near the barn to the pond. PLEASE STAY on the left side of the pond and do NOT go into my neighbor's fields/yard on the right. If you can't trust that your dog won't run off the property, please keep him on a leash. This property is not fenced and your dog needs to have good recall in order to run freely. Dogs can run, swim, play and explore the 8 acres of fields above our farm pond. Seating, water and lots of parking. We are only 3 miles from the Baltimore Beltway, 12 miles from the Inner Harbor! We are adjacent to Weber's Peachberry pick your own peaches, apples and berry farm. There is currently a sunflower field in view; there may be people visiting.
