Our backyard isn't a perfectly manicured lawn—it's a peaceful, park-like woodland oasis filled with natural scents, textures, and wildlife that encourage healthy enrichment for curious pups. Wander through a landscape of tree stumps, logs, stones, woodland plants, wetlands, wild strawberries, flowering trees, rose bushes, lilacs, hostas, boxwoods, common ivy, and seasonal blooms. Listen to birds chirping while your dog explores. You may spot red cardinals, robins, and many other songbirds enjoying our bird feeders and bird bath. There are countless sights, sounds, and scents for dogs to investigate, and depending on the season and time of day, you may also see rabbits, squirrels, bees, butterflies, fireflies, snails, ladybugs, and other fascinating wildlife. For humans, we've created cozy places to relax while your pup plays. Enjoy our antique iron park bench nestled among the gardens or gather around the fire pit area with our bright orange camping stools. An elevated hill offers another fun place for dogs to explore, and a water hose is available if your pup needs a quick drink or rinse. Property Information Fully fenced backyard for off-leash play. Additional unfenced side yard is available if desired. Please enter through the fence gate on the Devon Drive side of the house (it will be open). Please park along the side of the house—there is ample parking. No resident pets on the property, though you may see or hear neighborhood dogs. Please Note Please stay off the deck and deck stairs. You're welcome to relax anywhere else in the backyard. Please pick up after your dog and take all trash with you before leaving. Tips are always appreciated but never expected. Every booking helps us continue maintaining and beautifying this little wildlife sanctuary and expanding the gardens for both people and pups to enjoy. You are welcome to park in my driveway or on the street in front of the home. Please stay off the deck. There is a patio on the ground where beach chairs are available for people to sit. Water is also available from the garden hose under the deck to wash your pup or to give them a drink. Place your trash in the trash can under the deck stairs prior to leaving.

I will provide a bowl of fresh water whenever I am able to do so, but it might be a good idea to bring some fresh drinking water for your pets if you think you’ll need it. Sorry for the inconvenience! Welcome to our 1 acre fully fenced private dog park! Some quick tips, make sure to look for our brick driveway as some GPS systems will navigate to our neighbors house. The gates are cattle style gates, to enter the backyard lift straight up on the back metal lever and push forward. Our fencing is mostly split rail fencing with some privacy fencing as well. There is wire around the entire perimeter to ensure safety. If you have extra small or toy size dogs I would recommend caution, but the fence is secure. We occasionally hear some dogs barking in our neighborhood, and my dogs on occasion but rarely may bark as well. I would also note that there are a few indoor/outdoor cats in our neighborhood that can be seen from time to time. A couple of further notes to be aware of. First off, this is not a small yard that is perfectly kept with 100% grass coverage. It is a very large field with some large trees especially in the back. Because of that, if we get heavy rain it will likely be a bit soggy, and there might be some spots of mud. This is mostly noticeable in the cooler months, but even in the summer if we get enough rain it is possible. If you have any issues with your dogs running and playing in a large field/wooded environment after heavy rainfall please be aware and schedule accordingly! Another note is there is a train that runs along the back of the house beyond the fence up on the hill. The dogs never seem to mind it though, we actually like it! Other than that, it is a very quiet neighborhood. I hope you enjoy!

Feel free to grab them from the container by the grill on the deck. How to Access: Park in the driveway near the fence. Open the gate (using the silver latch) and step into your private dog haven! Dispose of waste in the black trash bin near the Sniffspot toy box. Water: please fill bowl with water from hose. Rinse and leave bowl upside down for next guest. Historic and scenic property with natural barriers

I own 11+ acres in West Chester (bordering Downingtown), although I’m currently offering access to the 4.5 acres that is not fully forested. The side of the property you’ll be enjoying has the mill which was built in the 1760s and converted into a home in the 1970s. This strip of land is bordered by a creek on the one side, and a millrace on the other. The millrace is where the water used to run when the mill was operating many moons ago. Both the creek and millrace have water, although the creek has proven to be much more alluring to visiting dogs. The deepest area in the creek is approximately 8ft. There is a bench there for you to sit and enjoy the view while your dog swims in the water. There is another, more private area, where your dog can get easy access to the creek water. I can provide you with a chair to enjoy this area, and will likely already have it there upon your arrival. There are steep embankments for both the creek and the millrace so it would be an effort for your dog to cross them to “escape.” At the end of my 4.5 acre property, the land comes to a peninsula where the millrace and creek meet to become one body of water. This peninsula serves as a natural barrier although my friend’s young German Shepherd did jump out into this water and after a deer on one frightful day. Fortunately, we got him home/back but I think it’s prudent for me to disclose this harrowing event for the safety of your fur baby. There is an outdoor stone patio where you and your pup(s) can relax in the shade. Here you’ll find a filled water dish for your pup(s) to enjoy and a trashcan for your dog waste. If past dog visitors are any indication of future visits, your pup(s) will likely be thirsty from all the exploring, good smells and open land to run and play. I have one of those tennis ball throwing devices that help you throw a ball super far that you’re welcome to use too. I ask that you don’t encourage your pup(s) to chase after the wildlife here, not just for their sake, but for the safety of your pup(s) too. I think the hawks might have put a dent in the small wildlife around here. You won’t see many small animals like squirrels or bunnies, although you are likely to see deer. If your dog is a young/strong “chaser” you might want to visit with a leash. You’ll also find less snuggly wildlife here like snakes and ticks. I ask that you use your best judgement in supervising your dog(s) and be sure to check them for ticks before leaving. Of course at your first visit, I’ll give you a tour of the layout with your dog leashed to ensure your comfortability with the space. I’d ask you to kindly replace the raft in the creek should your visit cause it to pop. For future consideration: I have about 7.5 more acres of land (on the other side of Harmony Hill Rd) that is forested, rather secluded, and also bordered by the creek. Here you’ll find the remnants of the dam that used to feed the mill, and some amazing water landscapes including large rocks and crystal clear water. I’m slowly trying to establish a walking trail in this area but it’s been hard keeping up with all the overgrowth. I’d be open to bartering where you would help cut back the trail overgrowth in exchange for your dog enjoying the forested area.

The Oasis (3 Acres & Lake)

People have occasionally been showing up around the lake - please be aware of this We do test for blue green algae (scroll to picture 5) and we tested NEGATIVE. The lake is safe and not suffering from any toxic algae blooms. Does your dog love to run? Love to swim? Love to chill in the shade? We have it all! Enjoy 3 acres of fenced in land to run around, a private lake for your pup to swim in or do some dock diving, and a bamboo forest perfect for getting some shade and feeling at peace. We have an active train that can run nearby twice a day. Most dogs don't mind, but if yours does, be mindful that it can show up (: Two people per dog please maximum! Welcome to our peaceful, fully fenced haven for dogs. We offer a grassy retreat where you and your dogs can play fetch, sun bathe and relax in the hammock and swing. When the weather is warm, we put out a kiddie pool for water play, and you may also use the garden hose, if needed. You can also have breed meetups, pup birthday parties, dog training, litter mate reunions, photo shoots, and foster or adoption meet & greets in the privacy of your own Sniffspot. Come play!
