IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD *Please look at the pictures of the main gate before deciding if this spot is secure enough for your dog* The Sniffspot area is located at the back of my property. Where there is a 6 foot tall fence so that dogs are secure even in the winter with a few feet of snow on the ground. The trails are wide enough to drive a truck around back there, with the main loop being 1.5 km long. The rest of the trails connect one end of the loop to the other at various points. Total amount of trails is 2.87 kms. I have been open for over a year now but I am still making improvements when I get the time between work and family obligations. Hope your four legged friends enjoy it as much as my dogs do. *SPRING UPDATE* (Mid March-April- early May) The entrance gate to the Sniffspot in the spring does get muddy and with the saturated soil does hold standing water at times. Please do not park in the standing water. Also the gate area in early spring does flood and you will need rubber boots to cross this portion to access the fenced area. Check local weather conditions the day before and the day of your reservation for rain. If it was dry for days then the water usually drains away. Parking is still on my driveway until the snow melts completely. *WINTER CHANGES* (November -April) (-No water available over winter months -Gap under gate for snow clearance -Used dog bags go in green bin beside shop -Parking on driveway once deep snow arrives, dirt road will be blocked with pylons)

Welcome to Beaverton's Dog Trails! Please access the trails from Concession 6. Punch these coordinates into Google Maps: 44.4415942, -79.1065234. There is a SniffSpot Sign at the entrance. You may park in the private driveway. At times the river will be high, and you may only be able to cross the river on the white trail as there is a bridge. Please be advised that you are in bear territory. Carry the bear spray provided if it makes you more comfortable. Please pick up after your dog, there is a waste bin at the entrance. Please help yourself to a laminated map at the entrance and return after your walk. The map is posted throughout the trails with "you are here" symbols to help you navigate the trails. There is also bug spray in the cabinet at the trail entrance. If trails are blocked off with caution tape, they are temporarily closed. Enjoy your visit! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CHECK YOURSELF AND YOUR PUPS BEFORE YOU LEAVE. THEY’RE DISGUSTING AND CAN BE HAZARDOUS My place is nearly 200+ acres and can be tricky to find. It’s the 1st house on your left east of the 400 or 1st house on your right west of Jane. When u turn in the drive way follow it to the left and then slight right, you’ll see the house. U can park beside the barn and have an awesome walk, sniff all the things. Bring rain boots or shoes u don’t love lol It can get mucky on the trails at times. Also, there may be farmers out there so if your dog is reactive, maybe come on a weekend. I use the term “trails” loosely as yes, there are trails but there’s also a lot of forested areas. Feel free to venture in there but bring the “EAU DE BUG SPRAY”. The skeeters are nasty out here. I also LOVE seeing the pics of the pups having a roll in the dirt or just living their best life. About 65 acres is walkable and we have trails throughout. We are learning as we go, and hope to provide you and your dogs a fun day. If you have any question feel free to ask. And remember, we love dogs just as much as you do. There are a few important points we'd like you to consider. We like to meet our new guests for the first time. This gives us a chance to get to know you better and also put friendly faces to us, the hosts. We want you to feel welcome and know that we care about your dogs. We have several trails that split out to other trails. There will be signs to help you navigate through them, and some suggestions that will help you keep track of remaining time. In the colder months, running water will not be provided. We will also reserve the right to cancel the appointment if we get heavy snow squalls. Our plan is to keep the trails plowed, but in the event of a snow storm, it may take us a few days to get the trails plowed. In general, we will not be open past dusk, unless you specifically ask us and are aware of the risks of walking in the dark. I always walk my dogs on winter nights. Just carry some sort of flashlight. We currently have an electric gate that can only be opened by us at the gate, and not remotely. When a guest arrives, we will be there to open the gate for you, close it once you're in, and open it again upon your departure. Lastly a note about safety. Safety is important to us, but please note that you are entering nature. Our spot is home to many small animals, including porcupines. If your dogs are into porcupines, I would stay cautious of your pets entering the dense bush and recommend they stick to the trails instead. The probability of spotting a porcupine though is very low. Other animals will simply not bother human visitors and their dog companions. You may spot a deer or two if you're lucky that day. Deer are mostly friendly, but I would suggest keeping your distance if you spot a buck. However, they typically flee when they spot you. In all my years spotting buck, I've never seen one charge at anyone. Still, be safe. Although very rare, you many spot a coyote. Once again, they generally don't bother humans. If you spot one, keep your dogs close. Coyotes don't like confrontations with humans, so your dogs will be safe if by your side.
