This property is unfenced but very private, with the peninsula providing a natural barrier and minimal outside traffic. Please note: • The access road is sand and gravel. Sturdy footwear is recommended if walking. • Recent rain can create some ruts, and the road is due for grading. • SUVs and trucks are recommended for driving down the hill. • Sedans can typically make it down as well (ours does!), but please use your best judgment based on road conditions. • Balch Lake is a shared lake, and you may see boats, kayaks, paddleboards, and dogs accompanying boaters on the water. • Sound can carry across the lake, making people or dogs seem closer than they actually are. • As with any unfenced property, please ensure your dog has reliable recall or keep them leashed based on your comfort level and your dog’s abilities. Welcome to our little dog-friendly retreat! We offer a fully fenced-in play area where pups can safely run, explore, and relax. There is also access to the rest of the yard, but because of nearby traffic, we only recommend venturing outside the fenced area for dogs with reliable recall. On warmer days, dogs can cool off in the kiddie pool, and we provide plenty of toys for playtime. All toys and water bowls are thoroughly sanitized between visits, and labeled bins are available for used toys to help us keep everything clean for every guest. We do not use pesticides or insecticides anywhere on the property, making the space as natural and pet-safe as possible. However, because we avoid chemical treatments, we cannot guarantee the yard is completely tick-free. Poop bags and a designated waste receptacle are provided, and we kindly ask that everyone clean up after their pup. We also keep bottled water available for humans because both pups and their people deserve to stay hydrated! Our space is especially great for reactive or nervous dogs, and we’re more than happy to accommodate individual needs to help every pup feel safe, comfortable, and stress-free during their visit.

The dog yard is split into 3 main zones with gates so you can explore while keeping your dog in sight. We have lots of space to explore, toys, and lots of other amenities! Our farm is set on 75 acres here in historic Litchfield with the original 1830 farmhouse and a big red barn. We have multiple areas for your to explore: 1. Our Play Yard welcome area that has a 3 sided shelter with seating. This is where you can grab some poop bags, toys, or request extras like agility equipment, kiddie pools, corn hole, BBQ grill etc. This area also lights up at night. 2. The Wilde Side with lots of paths to explore, a secret garden, native plants, hedges, multiple spots to sit, and a big open meadow. We are working making this area a monarch way station as well! 3. Our new area, Wolf Tree Meadow! Walk behind past the barn towards the hayfield and explore the stone compass circle. Rent the fire ring or use the table and chairs to relax while your dog sniffs to their heart’s content. Please note the entire SS accessible property is fenced. There is a driveway gate, and a second gate to enter our SniffSpot.

River Lily Farm

Our farm is open fields, tons of trees to play hide and seek in, and lots of riverfront area for dogs to swim. There are ungroomed “walking trails” that go around the entire property. Center of property tends to be wet. My personal dogs will remain inside the house while you are here. Bring your own poop bags please. Dogs with good recall are allowed off leash, at your own risk, please. We love all breeds of dogs with every quirk and ability. We respect that all dogs have different temperaments; all dogs are welcome, no matter how they feel towards strangers or other animals. We will do our 100% best to ensure no person or domestic animal will bother you on your adventure here.
