Urban Oasis - Astroturf play and agility space (no muddy paws ever)

Over 4200 square feet of Astroturf play area conveniently located adjacent to the BWI airport (less than a 5 min Uber ride away). The yard is surrounded by wooden privacy fencing so your pups can focus on playing! Astroturf provides a soft, plush, clean surface so even wet dogs don’t get dirty during their stay (perfect if you’re waiting on a flight or traveling with your pup). Aluminum gazebo to protect you from the elements, and a separate covered sitting area to keep guests shaded. Space is equipped with agility equipment including an a-frame, adjustable jump, tunnel, agility stakes, and back tie. The space also has various toys, kiddie pools/dog activated water fountain/hose in the summer to keep dogs cool . There is a metal tug toy assembly in the tree, but you’ll need to bring your own toy to hook into it (we go through the toys too fast to keep replacing 😂). If coordinated in advance (and with owner supervision) you can even use the slat mill for an extra physical challenge. If you’re bringing a young puppy out please message us directly so we can put out the ball pit. The space is equipped to be used in the dark and has many solar motion activated lights along the fence, solar lights on the pergola, and a lit walkway leading up to the gate. The best travel companion is a happy/tired pet. As the weather gets nicer you may see some neighbors on your way in and may hear them while in the yard. You may also hear the normal neighborhood noises and the occasional cluck of a chicken (there are 🐓 next door; however, the privacy fence is slated, the fence is over 8ft tall, and the turf is on a hard rock pack so they aren’t super visible and they’d be EXTREMELY hard to get to). No dogs live in the yards adjacent to the fence so you rarely hear barking; however, we occasionally take in reactive board and trains. In the extremely rare case one of our houseguests barks and disturbs your peace during the visit let us know and we will make it right. On most hot days the turf gets warm in direct sunlight. Typically we will spray it down between guests if we are home. However, please check the turf intermittently and spray down as desired. The turf has an infill that causes significant evaporative cooling once its sprayed down. The small red cooler typically has water for the humans! Please help yourselves! Please no smoking 🚭 anywhere on the property. Cigarettes could damage our turf (extremely expensive to fix) and poison dogs.

Aunty Sooz's Private Backyard Pup Playground In East Pete!

Hello there. Welcome! Aunty Sooz's playground is about 1/4 acre of relatively flat grass and clover. I don't spray chemicals and choose to embrace my weeds. Also, there is a compost pile behind the shed where various critters like to burrow and lots of things to sniff! There are some toys on the white table under the pergola, but of course you can use your own. There is also a black plastic bin on the deck and a white doggy bag dispenser on the south side of the fence. My back yard is a work in progress. My yard work never seems to end. I am in the process of refinishing some wrought iron patio furniture. Hopefully, it will look better as the weather improves. For the dark winter months, I have decided to leave the holiday lights up. I also added some solar-powered ones although I'm not sure they help all that much. The previous owner left three handmade pvc hurdle obstacle poles that you can set up if you do agility training. There is a small fire pit which is the only other big obstacle for pups to zip past. In case the ground is damp, I try to keep clean towels on the table as well. There is also a dog water bowl near the back porch gate and a big metal one on the deck. I will have the hose hooked up when the weather warms. ***I ask that you book a few hours ahead so I can prep the backyard. Sometimes this app is buggy and I don't see your reservations. *** The back gate can be a little tricky if you're not familiar. It is a tight turn towards the backyard. Pups will likely go up onto the porch or in flower beds. The gate closest to the garden is a bit easier to navigate with a pup. You have to reach in between the two gate panels and pull the metal lever towards you as you push the gate open. I will try to prop it open for you and write you a personal welcome sign if there's enough time. Have fun!

Nice yard- convenient parking in the lot next door. Yard most paved, so watch the hot days. My pups- this was their first experience in a while off leash and they had a blast sniffing!

Carrie put a lot of thought into this. I have no yard, so we loved being off leash. The pool, toys, treats, and water were appreciated. We'll be back!

Easy access, comfortable seating, little swimming pool, and secure fence. Host had good communication. The area is a little small for using my chuck-it ball launcher. So I just threw the ball with my hand, so as not to go over the fence.

This place is absolutely amazing! I have two bagels and they spent the entire time sniffing around and even then they still didn’t get to explore the entire property because it’s so large and it’s beautiful. There’s so many spots for them to smell if I’m going to take them back I think I need to book a 3 hour session because that’s how wonderful and big this place is! If you love your dog, you will bring them here. Or to her other property, which includes a pond. The entire property is clean, very well organized. She’s a wonderful person and I have never seen anything like this available for dogs before. It’s absolutely amazing!

Just wonderful .... best Sniffspot my boy Charlie and I have been to! Kathy's communication and organization are outstanding and I appreciate that she makes safety a priority. The huge area is lush and serene, with so many different kinds of walking/running/sniffing opportunities. Charlie is 12 and usually sticks fairly close to me at a Sniffspot, but at the Acres, he was like, "See ya, mom" and off he went, big smile on his face the whole time. Despite being worn out from his adventures on a warm day, he looked at me in dismay when he realized it was time to go. Oh, and it was nice to find a poop bag receptacle midway through our walk, so I didn't have to carry a bag all the way to the exit. Thank you, Kathy ... we'll be back and we'll try out the Pond spot as well!

Blaze had a great time exploring all the scents around the property. Blaze and his friend Stella enjoyed running around all the trees and bushes. What a great experience on a Sunday morning. I would recommend giving the Acres a try, Your dog will have a great time. It was a nice walk around for our humans as well. Looking forward to giving the pond a try next time out.

This is the perfect place to let two high energy GSP’s just run off leash without any worry. It is very clean and well maintained. You have a nice trail that leads you to your spot. Kathy is quick to get back to you if you have any questions or need anything. I will come back, we’ll worth it.

Best Sniffspot I’ve been to. Even better now with improvements to the parking area. You can’t beat it because of the size. The fence is very secure so that i don’t have to worry about my dog even when she has run out of sight. It’s very peaceful and has lots of trees, so plenty of shade.

Awesome place as usual. Spacious and clean. Some holes, but no big deal. A smaller dog like the one who came with us (less than 15#) might be able to fit through the gate on the side if interested, but she did not. I liked the new sign for in use/open.
