Taylor pond is a 5 acre pond located in the heart of Poway. The amenities include a grass yard and yard in the back filled with wood chips and a eucalyptus grove as well of course as the pond. Keep in mind when you bring your dog we turn to work in the yard and also rent out a building in the back to Airbnb. So please make sure your dog is friendly with people.

Welcome! We are a small family and we are very excited to meet you(r dogs)! 😆 We have two of our own, Mango and Toshi. Our pups will be in the backyard or the house while your babies play to prevent any spooks. Let us know if your pup enjoys playing with others! We might be able to accommodate that depending on your pup's temperament. We provide all of the basic amenities you'd expect from a dog park, including seating, bags, and trash. Please feel free to bring your own though! There is a long covered porch in case of sudden rain or inclement weather, and we keep snacks, water, and other goodies there! Please take one while you visit :) I am a horticulturalist and so our yard will always be blooming with something and full of wildlife! Please do keep your pups out of the raised flower bed as not all items have been checked for toxicity (in progress!). When we have extra produce or cut flowers, you'll see them in baskets on the porch. We do have multiple bird feeders on the property and we kindly ask that you prevent your pups from chasing as best as you can. Things happen and pups can be stubborn, so we get it if it happens sometimes! Park on one of two of our paved driveways, in the gravel, or on the street. If you require any special accomodations, please contact me before booking. Special accomodations may include: removing certain snacks or toys, allergy requests, extra seating, extension cords, small table, etc. Our property is not fully handicap accessible, unfortunately, but we do have a large area paved for those with mobility issues. Please be able to walk/move across up to 20 feet in case your pet requires your assistance on the lawn. We are always taking suggestions for ways to improve! Ranch also has 3 1/2 mile 25ft wide trail for walking your dog as well as other trails around the property with great views of the surrounding mountains And fields. We also kindly request that you maintain a distance of at least 5 feet from our neighbor's fence, located at the top end of the property. The Sniffspot venue is a 3 acre fully fenced area that you and your dog will have unsupervised, exclusive use of for the time that you have booked. There, you will find fresh filtered (RO) water for your canine companions, an abundance of toys, Chuckit balls and launchers, including guest supplies and other listed amenities. The entire farm is 36 fenced acres. For anyone interested, I will gladly provide supervised walks around the entire property for additional psychological enrichment at no additional cost. Note: Palmhill is a working organic farm. There may be an occasional worker sighting, but absolutely no reason for any employee to ever interact with a guest or their dogs. My interests lie in offering an affordable, stress-free, large, safe, clean, offleash venue for guests and their canine companions. Thanks to an awesome group of guests who have been with us since first opening the venue, this has been a very rewarding experience. However, there have been, a few guests who have not been doing a very good job of cleaning up after their own dogs which makes it very unpleasant for the guests who come in to the venue next. I have many visitors who pick up dog droppings of other people's dogs and don't say a word, and also return toys and balls to the recepticles, but they shouldn't have to! I actually had a guest say to me once, "Oh, I thought you had people to do that!" No, everyone is responsible for cleaning up after themselves before they leave the field. That's how we keep the venue tidy and affordable! I don't think that's an unreasonable expectation. I've had to post a list of reminders at the venue, (thank you, Michele) which I feel terrible about because they're not relevant for the MAJOROTY of Palmhill's guests. It's just a handful of mostly newer guests who aren't being very team friendly. I've met some awesome people and even more so awesome dogs, but sorry to say, if you don't play fair, you will be asked not to come back to this venue. Everyone is welcome including, large groups, highly reactive dogs, special needs dogs- dogs with anxiety, physical handicaps, previous dog park trauma dogs, etc. We love them all and will do our best to make everyone feel welcome! Welcome to our fully fenced area! We have lots of shade under the tree and patio. There is street parking available and side gate access. Access to sprinklers is available as well. There is no visibility to the neighbors’ backyards or into our house, so you’ll have privacy. There is a good sized digging area available in the back corner by the tree- where there is dirt and leaves instead of grass. Honey is our pup and she loves her yard filled with bunnies. They are very good at hiding but they are there! I honestly doubt you will see them. :) Honey loves to leap off the tallest hill and also chase the lizards. She loves to sniff every area and play fetch. She spends all her free time down there and we want to share with some other dogs! The area is fully fenced and has the essentials, shade, drinking water, hose access to cool off, chairs for the grown ups and fetching toys. Come check out Honey Bunny Land! Do you love hiking or walking your pup in a natural setting with loads of smells and places to explore?! Then you’ll love our yard- with extra big boulders for the whole family to enjoy climbing or places to rest and listen to the sounds of nature. A few “heads up” about our spot: - the path to get to backyard is a bit steep. 👟Perhaps plan to wear appropriate footwear🙃 -like most places in San Diego there’s a possibility of snakes and we did have a recent sighting, so please use caution - the fencing on bottom right of yard is a different material, but still secure without any ways for pups to get out, but it can at times shift with weather and may be more possibilities for a pup to go under (I try and check often)🌿 - on the bottom left of the yard their are fire stick succulents🌱 on my neighbors property-the sap of these plants are toxic, so best to stay away! -lastly, if you are planning to come on a weekend morning- our neighbors typically play pickle ball at this time which can be a bit noisy and a distraction to some pups- they’re usually done by 11am. After opening the gate under the JP LONGSTOCK RANCH sign, and shutting it behind your vehicle- you can park next to the shed and let your dog run free in the very secure and spacious ranch hillside. The spot consists of 3 acres fully fenced with a shed and picnic table offering a rustic ranch experience with views of the huge almost 100 year old historical barn where the Buffalo Soldiers once kept their horses. Now used as a breeding and riding ranch, you will likely see the unique leopard spotted Appaloosa X Friesian horses in their paddocks or turned out enjoying kicking up their heels (sometimes with their babies) in the nearby arena. The shed has electrity, free Wi-Fi, privacy, drinking water for you and your companion(s), fire pit, colorful picnic bench, couch, chairs, and table stocked with puzzles and old school games. The area is large and wide open for your pups to play and run with some large trees, a kiddy pool and horse shoe pit. Enjoy the spectacular desert mountain views surrounding the rustic charming ranch. We offer rock painting, using our metal detector to discover old treasures left by the soldiers, tours of the barn and meeting the horses all at a small additional cost if you choose to add some extra entertainment. If not, just enjoy your time with your pet(s) and make yourself at home. The vibe here is very laid back, clean and welcoming. We can cater to almost any requests so please let us know what you would like your experiences here to be like or any special events or instructions to give you the most quality out of your time at the ranch. Come run and play on 10 acres! We have a large lawn, many flat and hiking trails with beautiful views! We have a pond that your fur babies and jump and swim in. There are many mature oak trees. It’s so peaceful for you too! You’ll get exercise, enjoy nature, wildlife, farm animals and good old vitamin D! (Sunshine☀️) There are benches for resting and bowls of water and hoses for the dogs.
