The "Maplewood Farm" Dog Park (5-acres!)

Fully Fenced
5 acres

Welcome to the “Maplewood Farm” Dog Park -- a peaceful 5-acre nature escape in south Maplewood near Battle Creek, just minutes from I-94 and McKnight. Set among rolling hills, mature trees, wooded trails, open field space, and natural wildlife, this spot gives dogs a private place to run, sniff, explore, and decompress away from crowded dog parks. For history buffs, the property also has a barn built in 1896 that, to my knowledge, is the only standing barn in Maplewood still in its original form. The main fenced play area is approx. 60 ft x 100 ft and is great for off-leash play, fetch, tug with the spring pole, and burning off energy. I also recently added a water-play area inside the fenced area with a kiddie pool and sprinklers. You can even rinse or bathe your pup on the grass with the sprayer -- just bring your own shampoo. For a good visit, I recommend spending the first part of your time in the fenced area, then leashing your pup for a slower sniff walk around the rest of the property. From the fenced area, you can follow the small back gate into the wooded trail system, loop toward the campfire area and barn, then continue north through the more mature trees before circling back toward the open field. Signs are posted to help guide you. My favorite spot is the open field, where young aspen trees whisper on windy days and the evening sunset can be beautiful. Best times to visit: Mornings and early evenings are usually best for active dogs, especially during warmer weather. Afternoons can get hot, but the water-play area is available, and the shaded wooded trails are nice for slower sniff walks. Around 8pm, you can often enjoy a quiet sunset with a hammock nearby -- a peaceful way for both dogs and humans to wind down. Some guests also come after sundown for highly reactive dogs who need extra stillness, and LED collars make them fun to watch across the yard. As a dog lover and builder, I’m always improving the space with more enrichment features and amenities. This spot is especially great for dogs who need space and privacy, working breeds with energy to burn, training practice, or owners who simply want a quiet place where their dog can be a dog. Future upgrades include agility-style features, more shade, a comfy campfire area, and possibly a quick-rinse dog bath booth. I usually like to briefly greet new visitors, especially to help orient you to the property on your first visit. That said, I also understand that some dogs need complete space and some guests prefer privacy. If you have a highly reactive dog or would rather have a no-contact visit, please message me at least a day ahead of time and I’ll stay inside. I opened this Sniffspot in May 2026 and welcome feedback as I keep improving the space for dogs and their people. 🐾 🐾 Valeng and friends 🐾 🐾

Poppy's Play Prairie: 15 acres of fun!

Partially Fenced
15 acres

🌸🌿🌱🌦️ Welcome to Spring at Poppy’s! The prairie and woods are coming alive! But spring also brings unpredictable weather, leading to changing conditions on the trails. Please come prepared for mud and uneven trails. But we can always promise excellent sniffs and adventure for your 4-legged friends no matter what! **Fostering a dog? Message for special discounts** This is our private residence. Our dogs love walking the trails, sprinting through the woods, and diving through the prairie grasses. We love offering other pups the chance to enjoy it too! The trails are mostly wooded, and there is a ravine with a small creek (often dry in the summer). There are areas of trails, woods, prairie, and mowed grass. There is a barbed-wire fence marking the property line around the property, however it is not fully-fenced. Your dog will need to know to stay close enough to you or respond to your calls. *Poop bags provided* 10% of all profit is donated to dog rescue organizations

Kay's 10 Acre Partially Fenced Private Dog Park In Corcoran

Partially Fenced
10 acres

Plan is to open site by June 30, 2026. Front area will have a securely fenced area, as well as adjacent grassy unfenced area. Upon following the driveway to behind the residence, there is another less securely fenced area. This area exits to a pond area and another bigger grassy area. At the point that the path crosses over the creek, a sign posted will request dogs to be leashed beyond that point, both for safety and for the purpose of avoiding intruding upon the neighbor’s property. Various walking paths will be cleared through the small woods, after which walkers may double back and complete their trek in the area around the barn and residence. There will be a small picnic area outside of the front fully fenced private dog park area.

What amenities do Rockford dog hiking trails typically include?

Rockford dog hiking trails feature amenities designed for natural exploration and varied terrain: wooded trails, open meadows, and varied natural terrain, secure fencing options, water stations, waste disposal, and often extras like toys, shade structures, or parking. Unlike public parks with generic setups, Rockford hosts customize their spaces. Browse 16 listings to compare—from bare essentials to luxury amenities perfect for your dog's needs.

How much does it cost to use Rockford dog hiking trails?

Sniffspot runs on a membership model with monthly and annual plans that include credits toward Rockford dog park bookings. Members get discounted rates at participating Rockford spots, and new users can start with a 7-day free trial. There are no surprise booking fee. Your credits cover the reservation. Browse Rockford dog hiking trails listings to see individual spot pricing, and check your membership dashboard to see how many credits you have available.

How clean are private dog hiking trails in Rockford compared to public parks?

Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in Rockford see dozens of dogs daily with sporadic city maintenance. Private dog hiking trails have dedicated hosts who maintain their own spaces—cleanliness directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many Rockford hosts provide fresh poop bags, sanitized water stations, and regular grounds cleaning. With only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal.

Can I book Rockford dog hiking trails on short notice?

Usually yes! Many Rockford dog hiking trails offer same-day or next-day availability with instant booking. Unlike public parks that might be crowded unpredictably, Rockford private dog hiking trails let you reserve exactly when needed: early morning before work, midday breaks, evening exercise. Real-time availability shows on each listing—perfect for last-minute training or when routines get disrupted.

What's the best time to visit dog hiking trails in Rockford?

Any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks in Rockford that are crowded during peak hours (mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't worry about timing. Book when it fits YOUR schedule—midday when it's quiet, dawn for cool weather, late evening for convenience. Many Rockford dog hiking trails have lighting for after-dark visits. This flexibility is perfect for shift workers or dogs with special needs.

Do Rockford dog hiking trails allow multiple dogs?

Yes! Most Rockford dog hiking trails welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings), but generally you can bring your whole pack. This is perfect for multi-dog households in Rockford where some dogs are selective—they can play together privately without outside interference. Great for sibling bonding or families with mixed ages/temperaments.

Can I use Rockford dog hiking trails for special events?

Many Rockford dog hiking trails welcome doggy birthday parties, training workshops, breed meetups, or group playdates. Private bookings mean your event won't be interrupted. Coordinate with Rockford hosts about capacity, amenities (parking, shade, water), and any restrictions. Some even provide party extras. Check individual Rockford dog hiking trail listings for event policies.

How do Rockford dog hiking trails accommodate dogs with special needs?

Rockford dog hiking trails are excellent for special needs dogs because you can filter for specific requirements: flat terrain for mobility issues, secure fencing for blind/deaf dogs, quiet locations for anxious dogs, small spaces for seniors, or maximum privacy for reactive dogs. Read reviews from other Rockford special-needs dog owners, and contact hosts with questions. The private setting means you can adapt the experience to your dog's unique requirements.
