Poppy's Play Prairie: 15 acres of fun!

Partially Fenced
15 acres

🌸🌿🌱🌦️ Welcome to Spring at Poppy’s! The prairie and woods are coming alive! But spring also brings unpredictable weather, leading to changing conditions on the trails. Please come prepared for mud and uneven trails. But we can always promise excellent sniffs and adventure for your 4-legged friends no matter what! **Fostering a dog? Message for special discounts** This is our private residence. Our dogs love walking the trails, sprinting through the woods, and diving through the prairie grasses. We love offering other pups the chance to enjoy it too! The trails are mostly wooded, and there is a ravine with a small creek (often dry in the summer). There are areas of trails, woods, prairie, and mowed grass. There is a barbed-wire fence marking the property line around the property, however it is not fully-fenced. Your dog will need to know to stay close enough to you or respond to your calls. *Poop bags provided* 10% of all profit is donated to dog rescue organizations

Three plus private fully fenced in acres of running and romping in the woods.

Fully Fenced
3 acres

Come and enjoy our own private 3plus acres of wooded with some open space and trails. Fully fenced in and secure. So much space for your fur babies to run and explore. No need to stress with other dogs that may be reactive. Or maybe your pup doesn’t play well with others and prefers their own space. Our private dog park is for you. This space is amazing. It is not attached to our back yard and is a completely separate and private area. A great place for play dates with others, maybe even a picnic for the humans. Bring your snowshoes if you would like a bit of a workout yourself off trail in the deeper snow! ***2-16-26 the field is in poor conditions due to the frozen ground and warm temperatures. Please watch your footing. Early morning guest the low areas will refreeze and be crazy slippery, later guests need waterproof boots. PLEASE NOTE: Zero tolerance for smoking of ANYTHING while on our property. You may smoke in your own personal vehicle. But also, do NOT leave your dogs unattended. Fill any holes you pup digs and return toy to bin. Also, in the winter months, please be aware that their is no lighting in the field. The designated Sniffspot parking area has ample lighting but none in the field.

The "Maplewood Farm" Dog Park (5-acres!)

Fully Fenced
5 acres

Welcome to “Maplewood Farm” Dog Park -- a peaceful 5-acre nature escape in south Maplewood near Battle Creek, just minutes from I-94 & McKnight. This is still undeveloped farmland tucked into the suburbs, with rolling hills, mature trees, wooded trails, open field space, wildlife sightings and scents (ton of bunnies!), and a very different feel from a typical backyard spot. Dogs get room to run, sniff, explore, and decompress away from crowded dog parks. For history buffs, the property also has the only standing barn in Maplewood, built in 1896, still in its original form and in use. It’s also an escape for hoomans, not just our beloved pets -- a quiet place to breathe, be alone with nature, bring family for a simple picnic, or just sit under the trees while your pup explores. Peaceful and private, a nature oasis in the middle of the Twin Cities. There’s even an apple tree, which adds to the old farm feel. The main fenced play area is approx. 60 ft x 100 ft and is great for off-leash play, fetch, zoomies, tug with the spring pole, and burning off energy. There is also a (self serve) water-play area with a splash pad and overhead sprinkler/mister, plus a sprayer if you want to rinse or bathe your pup on the grass. Because this is a full 5-acre property -- roughly the feel of an entire city block -- I strongly recommend booking at least 1.5 hours if you want time to enjoy both the fenced play area and the slower sniff-walk loop around the rest of the property. I promise your pup(s) will be tired out by the time you leave. A good visit usually starts in the fenced area, then continues with a long-leash sniff walk through the rest of the property. Follow the back gate into the wooded trail system, head toward the back cul-de-sac area, loop back toward the house and barn (you may hear my dogs bark), then continue through the mature forest trail. I’ve also installed a runner trolley system along the block-long trail for semi-free roaming, giving dogs a safe, guided way to sniff and explore under the trees. From there, you can circle back toward the open field. Signs are posted to help guide you. Just outside the fenced area, I’ve added a cozy campfire seating area overlooking the dog park and much of the property. In summertime, I highly recommend booking around 7-9pm for a sunset and campfire experience. The seating area is partly shaded by trees, includes a clean hammock, and is a peaceful way to wind down the day with your best friend in the world. Evening guests who book 1.5+ hours are welcome to use the campfire area at no extra cost when conditions allow. This is a natural, dog-friendly space, not a suburban yard. Dogs are welcome to explore, climb on log and wood chip piles, chew or pull on tree branches, sniff around, and enjoy the property in whatever way feels safe and appropriate to you. I’m not precious about the landscape here. My priority is your pup having a good, safe visit. The spot is open pretty much anytime, from early morning to late evening, so you can book around your dog’s energy level, the weather, or your own schedule. Mornings and early evenings are usually great for active dogs, especially during warmer weather. Afternoons can still be enjoyable with shade, water play, and wooded trails for slower sniff walks. Early evenings are one of my favorite times here, especially for the sunset/campfire experience mentioned above. If I’m home, I may briefly welcome first-time visitors once your dog is safely in the fenced area. If you prefer a no-contact visit, just message me ahead of time and I won’t greet you. As a dog lover and builder, I’m always improving the space and adding more dog-friendly features. I just opened this spot in May 2026 and welcome your feedback! 🐾 🐾 Valeng and paw friends 🐾 🐾

Angela's 0.5 Acre Fully Fenced Private Dog Park In Arden Hills

Fully Fenced
0.5 acres

Our backyard is a half acre of fully fenced fun! Conveniently located and ample parking. Tons of room to run and sniff! Half of the backyard is grass. The other half is a mix of pollinators and weeds awaiting my picking. It was all buckthorn when we bought the house in 2021 😬 I use natural methods to control weeds by hand picking, cardboard and tarps for smothering patches of weeds as I work on slowly planting the “wild area.” The cardboard is pretty ugly, but it’s very effective in killing invasive weeds. So far I’ve planted more than 150 varieties of perennials 🌻 I haven’t verified that all the plants are dog-safe so please take precautions by preventing your dog from eating the plants. Humans, please try to take care to not trample the perennials in the wild area ❤️

Frequently asked questions about Rockford dog fields

What do private dog fields in Rockford offer that public parks don't?

Private dog fields in Rockford offer complete privacy (no other dogs), specialized environments for full-speed running and fetch, professionally maintained cleanliness, flexible 24/7 scheduling, and safe spaces for all temperaments—puppies, seniors, small dogs, reactive dogs, or any pup needing accommodations. Public dog parks in Rockford can't guarantee any of this. With 87 options, you get predictable, controlled environments perfect for your dog's specific needs.

Can I find fully fenced private dog parks in Rockford?

Yes! Most of Rockford's 87 private dog parks are fully fenced. Use the "fully fenced" filter to find secure enclosures with detailed specs: height (4ft, 6ft, 8ft+), material (wood, chain-link, vinyl), and gap information. This is crucial for escape artists, puppies learning boundaries, reactive dogs needing contained space, or small dogs who might squeeze through. Rockford listings include fencing photos so you can verify security.

When can puppies start visiting dog fields in Rockford?

Puppies can visit Rockford dog fields as early as 8-10 weeks with initial vaccinations, much earlier than the 16+ weeks needed for public park safety. This early, controlled socialization prevents fear and reactivity issues later. Plus, puppies can explore full-speed running and fetch without being overwhelmed or learning bad behaviors from poorly socialized adult dogs. Many Rockford trainers specifically use dog fields for puppy development.

How do I find private dog fields near me in Rockford?

Browse Rockford's 87 dog fields on Sniffspot by entering your neighborhood or zip code. Filter by distance, then narrow by features: fully fenced, "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, terrain type, or size. Each Rockford listing shows photos, reviews, exact location, and instant availability. Local favorite Three plus private fully fenced in acres of running and romping in the woods. is particularly popular among Rockford dog owners.

Can I rent dog fields in Rockford by the hour?

Yes! All 87 dog fields in Rockford are available for hourly rental. Most bookings are 1-2 hours, though you can reserve longer for training or events. Book instantly through Sniffspot, arrive during your time slot, and have complete privacy. Many Rockford dog owners rent weekly for consistent, safe exercise.

What's the difference between Sniffspot dog fields and public dog parks in Rockford?

The biggest difference is privacy and control. Public dog parks in Rockford mean sharing space with unknown dogs and owners. That means you can't control who shows up or how they behave. Sniffspot's 87 Rockford dog fields give you private bookings where only your dogs are present. You choose the time, the space, and the environment. Plus, your pup enjoys full-speed running and fetch and maintained cleanliness that public parks can't guarantee.

Are there indoor dog fields in Rockford?

Yes! Rockford has climate-controlled indoor dog fields perfect for extreme weather, rainy days, or year-round exercise. Indoor Rockford locations typically feature protective flooring, controlled temperatures, and enclosed environments. They're especially popular for puppy training, senior dogs, reactive dogs, or anyone wanting consistent access regardless of Rockford weather. Filter by "indoor" to see options.

How do Rockford dog fields help with dog training?

Rockford trainers love dog fields because privacy eliminates distractions. Work on recall, practice long-distance recall across open space, running drills, or field sports like fetch and frisbee, reinforce obedience, socialize puppies, or address reactivity without interruptions. For reactive dogs, train without trigger-stacking. For puppies, practice skills in controlled increments. For any dog, get focused training time in an environment specifically designed for full-speed running and fetch.
