Rancho Isla Vista, Views, Peaceful, Room to Roam

Unfenced
5 acres

This is a rural spot. There are no fences and no frills. The views are beautiful. We are located in a quiet canyon, just a few miles from Camarillo. We are 25 miles from Westlake Village and 46 miles from the San Fernando Valley. We offer: • individual reserved appointments for a private visit • a rustic space to enjoy on-leash or off-leash. Please, if your dog is at all aggressive, please keep on leash. • I will meet you there for your first visit. After that they will be contact-less visits. • explore approximately 40-acres of rolling hills, dirt paths, native plants, avocado orchards, and sniffing spots on our 100+ acre ranch • views of the Los Posas Valley and the Channel Islands are spectacular on a clear day • you may very well encounter wildlife, so be aware of that, especially with a small dog • dog waste bags and dog water bowls are not supplied Our guests have: • enjoyed a leisurely stroll with their dogs while enjoying the views • played with their reactive pup without the worry of other people or other dogs • snapped great photos and posted on social media • had a picnic with their pup • played fetch and did some zoomies • relaxed and enjoyed the view • quickly and easily rescheduled visits in the app • sniffed, sniffed again, and sniffed some more! I grew up on a farm and I thoroughly believe it is so important to get out of the city, enjoy wide-open spaces and let your mind relax, for both people and dogs. We hope you and your dog enjoy your time!

Judy's 5 Acre Unfenced Private Dog Park In Wrightwood

Unfenced
5 acres

Come explore the trail behind Wrightwood Place. Originally built by John Wilkins (Red Barn Opry founder) it leads to John’s cross and then up the hillside about a quarter mile to the Angeles National Forest. Moderate to difficult due to slippery hillsides, poorly marked switch backs, and fallen trees. But great views! Hazards: UNFENCED! Coyotes, rattlesnakes, cougars, and other wildlife. Sharp plants and rocks. And stuff I don’t even know about yet. There is a water spigot just below the trailhead. I’ll unlock the restrooms for you if you let me know you are coming.

Frequently asked questions about Silver Lake dog hiking trails

What do private dog hiking trails in Silver Lake offer that public parks don't?

Private dog hiking trails in Silver Lake offer complete privacy (no other dogs), specialized environments for natural exploration and varied terrain, professionally maintained cleanliness, flexible 24/7 scheduling, and safe spaces for all temperaments—puppies, seniors, small dogs, reactive dogs, or any pup needing accommodations. Public dog parks in Silver Lake can't guarantee any of this. With 7 options, you get predictable, controlled environments perfect for your dog's specific needs.

Can I find fully fenced private dog parks in Silver Lake?

Yes! Most of Silver Lake's 7 private dog parks are fully fenced. Use the "fully fenced" filter to find secure enclosures with detailed specs: height (4ft, 6ft, 8ft+), material (wood, chain-link, vinyl), and gap information. This is crucial for escape artists, puppies learning boundaries, reactive dogs needing contained space, or small dogs who might squeeze through. Silver Lake listings include fencing photos so you can verify security.

When can puppies start visiting dog hiking trails in Silver Lake?

Puppies can visit Silver Lake dog hiking trails as early as 8-10 weeks with initial vaccinations, much earlier than the 16+ weeks needed for public park safety. This early, controlled socialization prevents fear and reactivity issues later. Plus, puppies can explore natural exploration and varied terrain without being overwhelmed or learning bad behaviors from poorly socialized adult dogs. Many Silver Lake trainers specifically use dog hiking trails for puppy development.

How do I find private dog hiking trails near me in Silver Lake?

Browse Silver Lake's 7 dog hiking trails on Sniffspot by entering your neighborhood or zip code. Filter by distance, then narrow by features: fully fenced, "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, terrain type, or size. Each Silver Lake listing shows photos, reviews, exact location, and instant availability. Local favorite Antfarm LA 20 acres in sunland is particularly popular among Silver Lake dog owners.

Can I rent dog hiking trails in Silver Lake by the hour?

Yes! All 7 dog hiking trails in Silver Lake are available for hourly rental. Most bookings are 1-2 hours, though you can reserve longer for training or events. Book instantly through Sniffspot, arrive during your time slot, and have complete privacy. Many Silver Lake dog owners rent weekly for consistent, safe exercise.

What's the difference between Sniffspot dog hiking trails and public dog parks in Silver Lake?

The biggest difference is privacy and control. Public dog parks in Silver Lake mean sharing space with unknown dogs and owners. That means you can't control who shows up or how they behave. Sniffspot's 7 Silver Lake dog hiking trails give you private bookings where only your dogs are present. You choose the time, the space, and the environment. Plus, your pup enjoys natural exploration and varied terrain and maintained cleanliness that public parks can't guarantee.

Are there indoor dog hiking trails in Silver Lake?

Yes! Silver Lake has climate-controlled indoor dog hiking trails perfect for extreme weather, rainy days, or year-round exercise. Indoor Silver Lake locations typically feature protective flooring, controlled temperatures, and enclosed environments. They're especially popular for puppy training, senior dogs, reactive dogs, or anyone wanting consistent access regardless of Silver Lake weather. Filter by "indoor" to see options.

How do Silver Lake dog hiking trails help with dog training?

Silver Lake trainers love dog hiking trails because privacy eliminates distractions. Work on recall, practice trail recall in natural environments, leash manners on varied terrain, or hiking endurance building, reinforce obedience, socialize puppies, or address reactivity without interruptions. For reactive dogs, train without trigger-stacking. For puppies, practice skills in controlled increments. For any dog, get focused training time in an environment specifically designed for natural exploration and varied terrain.
