A small private horse farm that directly backs up to a state park. Fields, woods, and creek on property. Dogs must stay out of the horse pasture (some horses may chase them). I have a friendly foxhound on site, although she stays in the house unless I'm walking her. She does love other dogs to play with however!

Spacious Half Acre Off-Leash Retreat

Home to 3 dogs (Griffin 🩶 13.8 years old, Mellow 🖤 11 years old, and Lionel 🤎 5 years old) who know a good sniffing spot when they see one! On August 21, we lost our beloved dog, Griffin 🩶, who spent nearly 14 years enjoying this yard before losing his battle with heart cancer. He was sweet, loyal, strong-headed, and deeply loved. This yard was one of his favorite places to run, play, lounge in the sun, and make memories with our family. We miss him every day and are currently building a memorial in the back left corner of the yard in his honor. Opening our yard to other dogs has become a special way to share the space Griffin loved so much. We like to think he would have been thrilled to welcome new visitors and spend hours catching up on everyone's "smell mail." The yard sits on a half-acre lot with plenty of room for dogs of all energy levels. Whether your pup enjoys sprinting laps, playing fetch, exploring every scent, or simply relaxing in the shade, there's room to do it all. We like to keep the grass short and well-maintained, so we mow and trim regularly, typically once a week and more often during periods of heavy rainfall and rapid growth. We also do our best to stay on top of seasonal insects, bugs, and changing weather conditions to keep the yard as enjoyable as possible. Afternoons and evenings are our favorite times to enjoy the yard. By then, the morning dew has dried, and much of the yard is shaded by the tree canopy, creating a comfortable environment for both people and pets. Even after a heavy rain, the yard generally drains well and dries quickly, with very little mud. On cooler evenings, it's a peaceful place to relax, listen to the sounds of nature, and watch dogs enjoy the freedom of the open space.

A good half mile from Route 234 (Dumfries Road) in the Woodbine Woods region of the Manassas historic District, the lot has over a quarter acre of open yard, light but old growth woods and a small stream just past the woodline. The forest offers deer, squirrels, foxes and a wide variety of birds (I believe i saw a mated pair of Kestrels). Some neighbors have dogs (there are two cats in my house that live in the windows to watch the outside world) and there is a highly qualified professional Dog Trainer in the area (details available on request).

Large enclosed backyard in Falls Church

We have somewhere between a third to a half acre in our backyard, fully enclosed with a 5 to 7-ft wood fence. We have shady spots, but there also aren't too many trees, so there is plenty of room to play fetch and run around. Amenities include a dog jump, a small dog tunnel, and furniture on the lower deck for you to sit down. There usually are a number of my dog's toys laying around (frisbees, balls, and ropes), which you are free to use while you are here. Please leave them in the yard on your way out though. We've had quite a bit of our stuff disappear over the years.

I’m Nick, and I’ve cared for dogs my entire life, including large working breeds, senior dogs, puppies, and dogs with medical needs. Through Lu’s Doggy Watch, my home-style boarding and daycare service, I’ve learned how much each dog’s personality and routine matter. I bring that same thoughtful, welcoming approach to sharing our yard with the Sniffspot community. Lu’s Doggy Watch was inspired by my Doberman, Eero Lucas ("Big Lu"), who passed away unexpectedly due to DCM. After losing him, the house felt far too quiet. Welcoming dogs back into this space became a way to honor him—and sharing the yard gives more dogs and their people a chance to make happy memories here. During your visit, enjoy dog drinking water, toys, waste bags, a trash can, seating, and rain shelter/sun shade. Birds and squirrels may visit the yard, and other dogs may sometimes be heard or seen nearby. The fence is 4 feet tall at its lowest point, so please consider your dog’s jumping ability and check the enclosure before letting them off leash. Reptar told me to welcome you and your dogs to enjoy his fully-fenced backyard with private lake access. He offers shade for our guests, both from the trees and a movable pop up tent. He also has a dog-kiddie pool for them to splash around in or rinse off after their dip in the lake. He provide outside toys, doggie waste bags, treats, towels and drinking water for you and our furry guests. He offers a 25 yard leash you can use when your dog is swimming if you are worried about their recall in the water. Swimming is at the discretion of the owner/booker, and we have no ability to control lake conditions. Welcome to sync your phone to our Bose speaker to listen to your own music or just enjoy the sounds of nature. This is a great area, a farm secluded in the middle of Manassas. There is a large field on the side of the house that is mowed and maintained. Behind the field there is a wooded area that you can also explore with a small fence that will show you the boundary. There are some trails maintained and mowed throughout the wooded area as well. We are adjacent to the 234 bypass but a line of trees shield you from the sight of cars. There are no domestic animals here anymore but the fields are still here and beautiful. There is plenty of room for you and your dog to run around and enjoy some peace, quiet, and freedom!! You can throw your Frisbee or ball as far as you want! There is a covered little seating area and a hose for freshwater or if you need to hose down some feet. There is a trash can available and easy parking. I hope you enjoy this area as much as we do it's a beautiful place and we want to share it.

Our space offers fun for dogs of all ages! We have lots of items to desensitize your pup and allow them to explore in a safe place (swing set, jungle gym, table, chairs) Warm month mornings are typically full sun, while afternoons offer partial shaded areas to cool off after a long day. Other amenities include table with umbrella and chairs, dog toys, shaded dog shack, pooper scooper, poop bags, water bowl, water hose, small dog pool, and agility equipment. We don’t typically use pesticides because we don’t want to harm pollinators, so we offer bug sprays and personal repellents. Our yard is backed up to a wooded area, so it’s frequented by an array at wildlife at times. You likely won’t see them during your visit, but we have seen squirrels, birds, rabbits, deer, frogs, groundhog, and a fox/bats at night (while yard is empty).

Rascal's 1-Acre Resort in North Potomac, MD

Parking is in front of the property on the grass, in front of the mailbox. Walk back to the right side of property and wnter through the door. Once you enter the property, you can let your fur baby or babies off leash to explore. In the daytime, your fur baby has about 1 acre of land to explore. Scents of dogs, squirrels, bunnies and even a neighborhood fox are in the air. There are two white benches to sit on which can be moved. One side has large trees that provide a lot of shade on hot days. There is a covered pergola for you to stand or sit on the two rocking chairs, which is wonderful when it rains. There is also a covered back porch to stand in case of rain. There is a beautiful pond with koi and goldfish, the water is safe for dogs but we also leave clean bowls out that can be filled with 2 available garden hoses. There is a bucket of chuck-it balls on top of a bench near the Trashcan. For clean up there is a Trashcan and pooper scooper or you may use your own bags. In the night-time, we have torch lamps around the property as well lighted collars or lights to attach to a collar. This will make it easy to see your pup when he or she gets close to the fence. Larger friends love catching a frisbee, fetch, chasing the squirrels on the fence, running around the yard, or taking a dip in the outdoor pond. One of his friends just loves to gallop like a horse around the property or chase squirrels on the fence. The newest edition is the treadmill (small to medium dogs only) for use especially on rainy or snowy days. Treadmill for large dogs coming next year! Water bowl and water provided upon request. We are pretty flexible - let us know what we could do to make your next visit more enjoyable for your pup.
