Rent safe and private dog hiking trails hosted by locals in Martinsburg, West Virginia

We have 3 fenced in areas ranging in size along with basic agility equipment and short trails. There is a total of 10 acres that include fenced in areas and trails! We are a training facility that specializes in patrol, protection and odor detection dogs. We also offer basic obedience and behavior modification.

Welcome to Greek Lake Acres! We are located in Stephens City and we have 23 acres in total. About 5 acres are open grassy fields with an acre sized pond for swimming in the middle, surrounded by wooded complete with a few trails. Feel free to message me after booking for directions- GPS can sometimes try to take you through Lake Fredrick and you can NOT get to us from there. The lake is "swim at your own risk" as we do not have a life guard on duty. The water edge slopes so you can come out with ease. There is NO FISHING permitted in the pond. Again, there is no lifeguard on duty, dogs swim at the responsibility/risk of their owner Picnic tables are available near the waters edge and also in the trees next to the pond for shade. On the picnic table we have some floating toys for retrieving and also some sanitary bags if you need any. We are pesticide and fertilizer free, so please make sure you have tick/flea preventative because ticks love the woods! We are not fenced in, so recall is very important. The neighbors do have dogs, some wander so friendliness is important. We have chickens to live in their coop, who will remain safe in their coop during your visit. The property does have an abundance of wild life, including but not limited to deer, turkey, geese, ducks, squirrels and fox, but they do not stay around humans or dogs. There is a hose to wash off and drink from. (On the house next to the camper) Parking is on the lake side driveway near the green sign (see photos) Please note we are often outside enjoying our property as well. If you look at the photos, we typically stay in the “red X” area. If we have guests, our dogs are secured in the house. We can’t wait to see you!

Peaceful area located at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain in MD’s Agricultural Reserve. Owned/operated by former Cape May, NJ PD ACI (Animal Cruelty Investigator). Many maintained trails. Spectacular views!

This field was once used for pony cart races. As such, there is .3 mile grass track for walking laps. There terrain in the center of the field is bowl shaped because it used to be an artificial lake. A beautiful creek borders the edge of the field. The depth varies, but most areas are only 1-4 feet deep. A lightly wooded area borders the opposite end from the entrance. Tucked away in the back corner is a little island accessible by a fallen tree.

Raven Rocks Retreat, which is nestled on top of the Blue Ridge Mountains just off of Rt 7, is a peaceful escape for your dog to enjoy and explore. We have 7+ acres of land that includes a hiking trail in our woods and large grassy areas around the house. 🌲 The trail that circles our property through the woods, starts just off the side of our big yard area. It's indicated by small arrows pointing the way to the trail and also on the trail. You should only follow the arrows in the direction they are pointing, which will be right turns the whole way. We do have neighbors that have their own trails, so please be respectful and do not go on their land. They also may occasionally be walking their own trails, so we ask that you keep your dog on the leash through the trails only. They do not have to be on the leash on or near our grassy lawn areas. 🛑 You may occasionally see wildlife in the woods so please beware and understand you are accepting all risks when you make a reservation with us. We have a 30 acre tree farm located at the base of Sugarloaf Mt., away from roads, houses and people. Very secluded, with a 1/2 acre spring fed pond for swimming as well as groomed trails for sniffing, hiking and training. We are also a Lab Rescue foster family for young puppies and help train for their next fur-ever homes. Our place can also accommodate for upland and waterfowl training. We are as well associated with Buckeystown, Poolsville and Peachtree Veterinary hospitals.

We have 10 mostly wooded acres on the side of Braddock Mountain (right off Highway 70) at the end of a private road. There are also some open grassy areas around the house. 🌲 There is an unmaintained trail through the woods just beyond the driveway, indicated by a brown ‘Trail’ sign. PLEASE NOTE: The property overall is on a steep hill so it is best for those looking for a little more adventure. 🛑 We do not have any pets. You may occasionally see wildlife in the woods though so please beware and understand you are accepting all risks when you make a reservation with us. FULL DISCLOSURE: At times, we block our Sniffspot calendar to allow hunting on the property so there is always a possibility of finding animal remnants. ☝️ We approach Sniffspot as a ‘set it and forget it’ operation. Our goal is to share unused space with the community because we no longer have pets. We do not actively invest time and money into ‘perfecting’ our Spot or creating additional offerings like you may see with other Spots. 📧 You will receive a message from us a few hours before your visit with Wifi and other information. 🌎 We accept last minute bookings but please know that we travel often so you may visit at a time when we’ve been away and the grass may be longer than usual, or the garbage more full than usual. Come for our glorious sunrises on the creek and sunsets in the fields or just to enjoy the day exploring the fields and creek. The dog area starts past the broken black fence behind the house and goes down through the fields and into the woods. I would appreciate it if you would kindly please keep the dogs leashes and wait until you are past the broken fence to allow your dog to do any business. To get to the creek, go past the broken fence and keep going down the hill to the back tree line. I have included a map in the pictures. And then just keep walking; it’s about five minutes from the house to the trailhead. We have set out fluorescent yellow markers on the trees on the back tree line as you approach the trail. We also put up a blue sign that says “To The Creek” at the trail head. Once in the woods, walk down the steep hill and take the trail to the right at the bottom of the hill. You will see a red barn. That trail will take you out to a spot where your dog can splash around and I’ve cut a few trails to explore back there. Avoid the crowds at Great Falls park - 10 minute walk/hike to the Potomac River! Or walk down the road and see the horses at the barn. Access to water from the spigot on the back of the house.

20 acres of fenced and partially fenced, lots of wooded areas, 2 creeks, explore from ridge to ridge and to the back year round creek. Not too big or deep, but a nice place to cool off and wade around after a great walk. Lots of wildlife to possibly see, an old barn and a lean too full of smells. There's an old road the length of the property and a meadowed valley as well. Wifi and we'll water available.

We are located on 36 acres. About 5 acres are open space and there is a section that is fenced for pets to run free and play safely. Rest is woods with trails.

We have a wooded section with paths and an open area for running. It is not fenced, so dogs will need to be trained to come when called. I would ask that you stay on the trail as we do have neighbors and some of the woods belong to them. The front of the house is fenced, the visiting dogs will not enter this area.
