River Camp Dog Park Fort Wayne

We have decided to reduce the hours of our sniffspot for the summer due to the influx of camping and pool reservations, meaning there are more people on our property at all times. If you would like to visit our sniffspot this summer, we are happy to open on a case by case situation! Just message me! We look forward to re-opening in the fall! Your dogs will have a blast running around River Camp Dogpark, located on Southside Fort Wayne. We have a large meadow, and woods with more than 1/2 mile of maintained trails. The woods run right up to the St Marys River behind us, and there is a creek that borders the side of our property. When the river level is low, there is a rocky beach so your dogs can swim! Plenty of squirrels to chase! Walk or drive straight back on the white gravel driveway to the woods, and that driveway leads directly to the trails in the woods, and to the St Mary's River. There is a large meadow in front of the woods to run around in as well! There is a restroom with flush toilet available at the pool (April-October), and in the winter there is a portapotty in the woods. Next to the porta-potty is a water dispenser for handwashing and doggie drinks (disposable dog bowls in the mailbox there, if those are out there are more by the tiki bar) Doggie Supplies (poop bags, dog bowls, milk bones, bug spray etc) are available in a green bin with beige lid at the tiki bar near the pool Follow us on Instagram at Rivercamp_dogpark_fw Facebook: River Camp Fort Wayne, LLC

Nice spot! Very accommodating to a last minute request. Someone inside the house greeted us towards the end of our visit and offered my dogs water. We will definitely be back!

Loved this backyard! Very tall fence for safety and privacy. Had a great set of patio furniture to sit and relax as my dog ran around

Had a great time! Very nice spot, just a few things to note if you book here. Their neighbors have Alpacas and if your dog doesn't have good recall I guarantee they will run over as soon as they notice them. Ours perked up on the other side of the pond but luckily for us it wasn't a problem. Second is that they have some MAJOR holes at the edge of the pond that if you don't scope out ahead of time and stay vigilant about looking for you will trip. I'm talking knee deep, so for sure something to keep in mind or someone will get injured. Other than that it's a very nice spot your dog will enjoy!

FAQ about our New Haven dog parks

Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 100% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the New Haven area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 25 fully fenced dog parks in the area.
