55This was our first visit to the Mini Forest and this place is really wonderful. It is a large forested area with some large walking paths as well as some smaller trails scattered about. Just after you cross over the bridge there is a lovely little picnic area where we had lunch. The creek is close by there if you want to go down the hill a bit to it. Then we climbed up the hill - you will want some good walking shoes - to some open meadows and additional trails. There are also some outbuildings scattered about and some places to sit. The is a mix of open area and tall shaded tree areas so will be good in the summer. Property is fenced but we saw a few areas that a determined dog could go under. Because the property is large and wooded, if off leash, best to have a good recall. Property was easy to find and parking spot was labeled. If coming from the south, go through Granite Falls as property is closer to there than Arlington. Host Grace met us in the driveway and was very friendly and engaging. She respected that Kai doesn't like to meet people he doesn't know. We wereonly here for an hour for our first visit but we will plan for 2 hours for next time. Great place to bring a picnic and enjoy the surroundings. There is a lot to explore in this peaceful wooded setting!June M.

55My two dogs, toddler and I had a great time! The land is well manicured so it’s clear where to go without disturbing the forest feel and the trees offer plenty of shade (which was much appreciated by this 8 months pregnant mama!). The hills were a bit much for my older dog but any agile pup ought to have a grand time! (And my old lady had a great time too, she just had a little trouble towards the end navigating the terrain). The creek is lovely and the boundaries of the property are very clear. Lovely host! We can’t wait to go back and explore again. Mollyrose D.

55Grace was such a welcoming host and her property was wonderful. My two dogs had a blast running around through the forest-like terrain, and I had a great time not worrying about them running off or having any distractions, as we were totally alone and it was fully fenced in, aside from the entrance that leads back towards her house - but it’s easily far enough that the dogs wouldn’t go that way. It was muddy in spots and there was some tall grass depending on which way you go, so wearing some sort of boots is recommended. My dogs were exhausted, and we will definitely be back! Bella R.

55Really cool spot! This was our first time here. Grace is super sweet and greeted us on our arrival. After you pull into the driveway, parking is straight ahead behind a small shed/barn and clearly marked with a Sniffspot sign. You will walk through a gate to a small pasture...there are some goats and a horse but they are totally secured behind fencing and my Cooper barely glanced at them. The Sniffspot starts at the creek crossing and it's fully fenced! Really nice big area of grass and hilly terrain, we really loved it. Very peaceful and lots of trees. There is an outhouse in the family campground when you first enter the Sniffspot so that is really nice for people like myself who drive from over an hour away. We felt completely relaxed and happy and really enjoyed walking through the woodsy setting. We will definitely be back. Thanks Grace!! Susan D.

55OMG! my german shepherd, Maverick enjoyed the place so much! it was worth the drive from Des Moines. I should have booked 2 hours as 1 hour went by too quickly, not enough time to leisurely check out the rest of the lovely ‘mini forest’. Next time I will pack a nice lunch with me as the picnic area looks very inviting. The gracious host, Grace said that her siblings & their families would camp here almost every year in the past. I enjoyed the hike, i needed it. i loved the sounds of the creek, the birds, the trees & the calmness, peaceful, serene feeling up the hill. I also enjoyed sitting on the porch on one of the tiny cabins, while Mavey sniffs around and sat on my feet later on to rest. I will definitely come back, don’t know when yet, but i will.Susan C.

55Dog and Human both loved it here! We booked two hours, during which time Dog did some happy zoomies, chased sticks, and climbed partway up a tree in a vain attempt to catch some critter in the branches. Human was just along for the ride and to serve as the stick-thrower. We made sure to save some time for playing in the creek at the end of our hike. Grace, the host, couldn't have been nicer. It's a great spot!Barbara L.

55What an amazing Sniffspot! Lots and lots of free space for the pups to sniff and play. Property is so nicely maintained and bonus that it is all fenced in. Host was amazing and super nice. We will definitely be back. They do have goats but our pups could care less ( we however loved them!) Nice private retreat for the doggies. Thanks for having us! Leslie D.

55Stunning sniffspot! My foster pup is a bit reactive and decided it was more fun to bark at the neighbors, so we cut our visit short. We did get a few good minutes in the lake!
Danielle and her husband are so sweet and great communicators. They have sweet extra touches like toys, water, towels, treats, etc…

55We loved visiting Allison’s Ok Corral! It’s a beautiful country neighborhood and property. We visited on a warm day and the shelter was great for little water and rest breaks. We loved seeing the horses come out of their corrals! It’s a working horse farm so there is activity which doesn’t bother us, as Naia is a puppy so I feel like it was an added bonus for socialization and normalizing some distractions with farm life! We will visit again!Crystal H.

55Our only complaint here has been a lack of water, and I've just resorted to bringing my own which wasn't a big deal. Lately, the host has been leaving clean water bottles for us to use, which is truky fantastic! But I swear this is the best Sniffspot in the area for location, price, and lot size. We don't regret getting a membership at all! Definitely worth checking out :)Jenny P.

55Very nice big field for the dogs to run and play. It is not publicly marked on the road so you are turning into someone's driveway. They do have a "parking" sign so I figured I was in the right place and then in the distance I saw a sign on a gate that said "Dogs". My only comment would be maybe a little Sniffspot sign at the road just so you don't feel strange entering the driveway, or maybe that's just me. Overall, a very lovely outing with my dogs. They are all now passed out. We will go back!Nicole B.

55I took my dog and friend's dog and they had a blast. I appreciate the host messaging me before I headed over to inform me that there's no water and we'll have to bring our own (not an issue but it was good to know so I brought extra due to it being 75 degree outside) and that people sometimes can get lost due to the navigation apps bringing them to the wrong location. I had no issues getting there using apple maps.
It's big, fully fenced, it's not flat which is good so my dogs can be worn out while running up and down. We'll be back. Jon T.

FAQ about our New Westminster small dog parks
Are small dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks are much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by park users so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 93% of reviews on Sniffspot visits are 5 stars.
How can I find small dog parks in New Westminster?
There are 50 small dog parks in the New Westminster area. The most popular small dog park is . You can browse all of our small dog parks here.
How do I know if a small dog park works for my dog?
Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing and distractions, to find a dog park that works for your furry friends. If your dog doesn't respond to owner commands, you can visit one of our enclosed dog park areas. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our small dog park sites where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can see any park amenities provided, including a park bench, water for dogs or water features such as kiddie pool or water hose. If your dog loves water, you can go to a park with water features, but if they don't love water, you can avoid them. We also recommend reading reviews to check for park maintenance issues and reaching out to the host with any questions. And lastly, of course, check park hours. Many of our parks are open from dawn until dusk.
What are the requirements to bring my dog to a Sniffspot park?
We require that all dogs have basic vaccinations or equivalent titers. We do not allow dogs with a bite history. We require that owners sign our waiver and agree to follow our safety rules. We also require that pet owners follow safety protocols around water features.
Will there be other dogs at the Sniffspot park at the same time as me?
Sniffspot only allows one booking at a time and any host dogs are required to be kept away from the spot during visits. We also enforce 30 min time buffers between bookings.
If you are planning an amazing small dog park party, each Sniffspot park has their own rules regarding special events. Many parks allow doggie birthday parties, training, water parties and other event types. Event organizers need to be responsible for their guests and event organizers should coordinate with the host regarding their fun party. Make sure the park has amenities you need for your party, such as a park with lots of picnic tables with park benches.
