Pig Beach (near Port Ludlow)

Fully Fenced
0.63 acres

A .63 acre dog sanctuary for you and your pup. The yard is well maintained with dog friendly grass and has incredible views of the Hood Canal and Puget Sound. If you're interested, there is private beach access for you and your pup to explore miles of beach (public but almost always empty). There are numerous dog toys available and a massive 6+ person, dog friendly couch (late Spring to early Fall) you can relax on and watch the canal when you need a break! Regarding the beach, there are approximately 50 steps which you will need to climb up and down to access the beach so please wear proper footwear. As this is on the Hood Canal and not a lake or a pond, tides impact the size of the beach. If you are hoping to walk endless miles of beach, the tide will need to be at 2ft or below. Anything under 4ft will give you a massive area (probably 1/2 mile or more) and almost guaranteed private area as only people with stairs can access the beach at this tide level. Though the beach is open at any point, I think the maximum height you would probably want to go is about 6.5ft. This still gives you and your dog a decent sized area to play in (approximately 500ft by 30ft or 1/2 acre). Photos 16 and 17 show the beach at 6.25ft with a very large sandy area for you and your pup to play in. Anything above 6.5 ft is not recommended as the beach just gets thinner and thinner, but you're able to try if you want. (no refunds given if you don't like what you find). With that said, a 8 ft tide still gives you approximately 20 feet x 300 feet of beach to roam so you pup still has some room to explore and 9ft is approximately 10 feet x 30 feet. You are responsible for checking out the tides before you go. Legally, I can't recommend any specific source for you to use, but you might find good information Googling "tide chart port ludlow". Regarding ADA Accessibility, my property is on a gently sloping hill. To access it, there are 2 very wide concrete steps to get to the grass. This would be doable for someone on crutches and probably ok for a regular wheelchair if you had a second person to help lower you to each step and pull you up. It's definitely not accessible to a motorized wheelchair. Sorry. Note - restroom is only available if I'm home, otherwise there is one approximately 2 miles northwest at the gas station in Port Ludlow

Camp Dilly Dally Doggie Park In Buckley

Partially Fenced
5 acres

We offer five acres of partially mowed fields and a natural wooded area. There is a small spring-fed pond and access to South Prairie Creek. Since the creek has a variable current, it may be best for larger dogs. The pond is ideal for smaller dogs who aren't strong swimmers. Trails began as deer/elk trails but have been improved. There are some small logs and rocks to step over so sturdy shoes are recommended. We make a constant effort tosubdue the blackberries but you may encounter vine strong-willed vines. The leaves that cover the trails in the fall may be a little slippery, so take care. Please avoid the dead tree area. There is a shed with supplies where you park.

Frequently asked questions about Port Orchard dog beaches

Why are private dog beaches better than public dog parks in Port Orchard?

Private dog beaches in Port Orchard eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Port Orchard's 10 private dog beaches offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.

How safe are Port Orchard dog beaches compared to public dog parks?

Port Orchard dog beaches are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Port Orchard dog beaches eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.

Are Port Orchard dog beaches safe for reactive dogs?

Port Orchard owners of reactive dogs choose dog beaches because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy swimming and beach activities while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Port Orchard reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.

Can anxious dogs safely use Port Orchard dog beaches?

Yes! Port Orchard dog beaches provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a waterfront area where dogs can swim, play in sand, and enjoy beach activities off-leash at their own pace without stress. Many Port Orchard dog beaches offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.

Are Port Orchard dog beaches good for small dogs?

Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Port Orchard dog beaches because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Port Orchard avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog beaches eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.

Do Port Orchard dog beaches work for senior dogs?

Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Port Orchard dog beaches because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Port Orchard dog beaches with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.

What do Port Orchard dog owners say about dog beaches?

Reviews of Port Orchard dog beaches consistently highlight: excellent privacy for all dog types, secure fencing that prevented escapes, clean and well-maintained spaces, responsive hosts, and safe environments for anxious, fearful, reactive, senior, and small dogs. Local favorite Ashley's 25 Acre Partially Fenced Private Dog Park In Duvall is particularly praised in Port Orchard. Read reviews to see real experiences from Port Orchard dog owners with similar needs.

How clean and maintained are Port Orchard dog beaches?

Port Orchard hosts maintain their own dog beaches and take pride in providing excellent experiences. All guests must have vaccinated dogs (or titers). Many Port Orchard hosts provide poop bags, trash cans, and regular cleaning. Reviews highlight maintenance quality—browse Port Orchard dog beach listings to see real feedback about cleanliness and upkeep.
