55I LOVED buddy’s retreat. The hosts Abi & Morgan made me feel so welcome. Did you know this spot has a TORTOISE named freya? You can pay to feed her, she’s a cool gal, my dog was very impressed with the space and got to enjoy the little kiddie pool they have. My dog Beau is not very sociable with other dogs so having Freya on site satiated his social need without overwhelming him. The space is super neat and very welcoming. I got to just hang out in the shade while Beau did his thing. I even had a really nice chat with Morgan which was a nice touch as well. If you need a lowkey area near Georgetown or pooler I’d reccomend Buddy’s retreat. We live in a high traffic area where it isn’t safe for my boy to roam so this was a life saver. Thanks again y’all. 55Buddy’s Retreat is a hidden gem that we will visit again and again. We found a delightful combination of open space, secure fencing and thoughtful amenities. The cleanliness of the spot is impressive, with well-maintained grounds and no signs of litter or waste. My pup and I had a great time, playing tug of war with the provided toys, drinking water from the water bowl and (wink) and from the kiddie pool and even got some training in. Thank you to our host Morgan and we look forward to our next visit. Bruno B.

55My golden retriever puppy had SO much fun here. The yard had plenty of space for his zoomies, and the provided pool was his favorite part! Thanks Morgan for being a great host! She gave the option of having the tortoise put away in her enclosure or roaming the yard. She roamed the yard munching on grass without a care in the world while we were there. Super cool!Mackenzie T.

55Such a nice area for your dog to explore while visiting and staying in downtown Savannah. It’s about a 10-15 minute drive from downtown, depending on traffic. It was nice to have a place where dogs can be off leash and run. Betsy G.

55Great spot! Super tall and secure fence, and good size yard for zoomies. Joi provided water bowls and allowed us to use the hose to fill them. I recommend this spot if you’re looking for a place downtown. Evelyn T.

FAQ about our Savannah dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 97% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Savannah area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 58 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 12 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
