I know not every dog thrives at dog parks, so I wanted to create a peaceful alternative. This space is especially loved by dogs who need a little extra room or prefer a quieter environment. The property is fenced along the two “long sides” which encourages your dog to stay nearby but with lots of roaming space. The fence is NOT fully secure. Please see the section about fencing. Near the cabin, there’s a cozy seating area where you can relax under the trees while your dog enjoys the space. We’re so happy to share this space with you and your pup! Welcome to our Sniffspot area in Sturbridge (Fiskdale) MA. We are excited to provide an off leash play space for your furry bestie. **Winter alert: Other than a path from the driveway, the Sniffspot area is not shoveled and can be VERY icy and/or snow covered!! Conveniently located close to the Massachusetts Turnpike and Rte 84. The Sniffspot area is in a quiet residential, wooded area. There is a sportsman's club a ways down the road, and if there is an event, occasionally, the range can be audible. Most dogs have been completely unbothered by it. Last minute reservations are ok, but please understand, with minimal notice, we may not have the opportunity to completely refresh the play space. Please utilize the message option for questions and updates.

Groverland

The pool is open!! Please remember - it needs to be added as an “extra” and there is a limit of 3 dogs in the pool for the longevity of our filter and pump :) Groverland is a 2 acre fenced yard so you and your furry friend(s) have plenty of room to roam. Please be sure the gate latches when you come in and when you leave. We live next to a very busy road and want to ensure everyone's safety! We have toys in a bin on the steps to the deck. Feel free to use them, but please put them back when you are done. There are poop bags and wet wipes on the toy station as well. The poop bucket is next to the gate you came in. Water dishes will be on the pavers between the pool and the house. Use of the pool is an add on, so please be sure to mark that when you make your reservations. We will provide towels, pool toys, and life jackets for your use. Please hang the towels and life jackets on the fence when you have completed your visit. We do ask that you keep barking to a minimum. I have grumpy neighbors who disapprove of the Spot :) We are open from 10am - 4pm, but will sometimes make exceptions, so feel free to ask. Now for the Debbie Downer part - as the spot has gotten more popular, we are seeing things getting damaged and, as a result, have added a few rules. If you damage something, please let us know so we can address it. Things happen, so do not worry, we just need to know so we take care of it before the next guest. Welcome to our quiet, creekside dog spot! This is a peaceful, private fenced yard located right next to the beautiful Otter Brook—perfect for dogs (and owners) who enjoy nature and water. The fenced area is approximately 5,000 sq ft and offers plenty of room for sniffing, exploring, and play. Just outside the fence, you’ll find our brook, which guests are welcome to enjoy with leashed dogs—it’s a great spot for pups who love water! What’s included: * 4 ft tall fenced yard * Chairs + picnic table for relaxing * Water bowls * Dog toys * Poop scooper * Off-street parking (driveway) Important fencing notes (please read): The fencing is basic 4 ft wire fencing. JUNE 8th UPDATE: new six foot privacy fence installed to allow for full privacy. They told me to give the fence a few days to settle and then I will be reopened with more hours. Thank you for your patience. This fenced in back yard has plenty of space for dogs to run about. The driveway is long enough that you’ll have your own private and close spot right next to the gate. Peaceful and beautiful backyard. One neighbor is visible but rarely out. Sometimes their dog is outside and will bark but then they take him in. Fenced about five feet tall.

Returning renters can use code TRAINYERDOG for a discount too 😉 To access the agility field: Please follow the driveway straight back past the detached garage and park in the grass along the fence line of the field. *This spot is first and foremost an agility field! There is equipment setup as seen in the photos pretty much all the time. You do not need to be an agility whiz to rent- if you are looking for a quiet, safely enclosed space to let your dog have some off leash time, you are more than welcome here! But do note that it is not just a flat wide open space meant for free running. If your dog has never done agility, do not force them onto any obstacle. Reward them for investigating things, but if they seem wary of something best not let them have a bad time or potentially get hurt bailing off of a higher obstacle like the a-frame or dogwalk. Please do NOT change the height of any jumps unless you know how to do so CORRECTLY! Do not attempt to move or change the height of any tunnels, the teeter, weave poles, or contact obstacles. Leave things the way you found them, and if you’re interested in learning about agility see the last slide in the photos 😉 and please no humans (children included) on or inside of ANY of the obstacles! They are not meant to bear the weight of a human, and they are expensive to replace if damaged. AKC Regulation a-frame, teeter, dogwalk, and jumps from Max200. MAD Agility channel weaves. Saloon door style tire and tunnels from Clean Run. Keep your dogs leashed for safety when entering/exiting the agility field as the rest of the property is not fully fenced. Please stay out of the neighbor’s property and out of my fenced in back yard closest to the house. It is low tech back there. There is no electricity or running water. Gates are secured with bungees for now until permanent posts & latches are installed. Please bring water, bug spray, sunscreen, proper footwear, etc. I do my best to keep the field as manicured as possible, but it is the out of doors so nothing is ever perfect! The pine trees provide lovely shade, but they do also provide pinecones and twigs. Give the space a once over to ensure there is nothing pokey on you or your dog’s path! Clean up after your dogs please! Stay safe, have fun, and happy sniffing 🐽
