Historic and scenic property with natural barriers

I own 11+ acres in West Chester (bordering Downingtown), although I’m currently offering access to the 4.5 acres that is not fully forested. The side of the property you’ll be enjoying has the mill which was built in the 1760s and converted into a home in the 1970s. This strip of land is bordered by a creek on the one side, and a millrace on the other. The millrace is where the water used to run when the mill was operating many moons ago. Both the creek and millrace have water, although the creek has proven to be much more alluring to visiting dogs. The deepest area in the creek is approximately 8ft. There is a bench there for you to sit and enjoy the view while your dog swims in the water. There is another, more private area, where your dog can get easy access to the creek water. I can provide you with a chair to enjoy this area, and will likely already have it there upon your arrival. There are steep embankments for both the creek and the millrace so it would be an effort for your dog to cross them to “escape.” At the end of my 4.5 acre property, the land comes to a peninsula where the millrace and creek meet to become one body of water. This peninsula serves as a natural barrier although my friend’s young German Shepherd did jump out into this water and after a deer on one frightful day. Fortunately, we got him home/back but I think it’s prudent for me to disclose this harrowing event for the safety of your fur baby. There is an outdoor stone patio where you and your pup(s) can relax in the shade. Here you’ll find a filled water dish for your pup(s) to enjoy and a trashcan for your dog waste. If past dog visitors are any indication of future visits, your pup(s) will likely be thirsty from all the exploring, good smells and open land to run and play. I have one of those tennis ball throwing devices that help you throw a ball super far that you’re welcome to use too. I ask that you don’t encourage your pup(s) to chase after the wildlife here, not just for their sake, but for the safety of your pup(s) too. I think the hawks might have put a dent in the small wildlife around here. You won’t see many small animals like squirrels or bunnies, although you are likely to see deer. If your dog is a young/strong “chaser” you might want to visit with a leash. You’ll also find less snuggly wildlife here like snakes and ticks. I ask that you use your best judgement in supervising your dog(s) and be sure to check them for ticks before leaving. Of course at your first visit, I’ll give you a tour of the layout with your dog leashed to ensure your comfortability with the space. I’d ask you to kindly replace the raft in the creek should your visit cause it to pop. For future consideration: I have about 7.5 more acres of land (on the other side of Harmony Hill Rd) that is forested, rather secluded, and also bordered by the creek. Here you’ll find the remnants of the dam that used to feed the mill, and some amazing water landscapes including large rocks and crystal clear water. I’m slowly trying to establish a walking trail in this area but it’s been hard keeping up with all the overgrowth. I’d be open to bartering where you would help cut back the trail overgrowth in exchange for your dog enjoying the forested area.

This was my first time booking a sniffspot for my medium-sized, nose-driven dog, and it was PERFECT. The yard was clean, and Natalie had a bag of treats, toys, and water ready for us. She also has a beautiful outdoor couch area where I chilled while my dog sniffed around (great for dogs who love to sniff). There are a couple of trees in the corner, so she also loved staring up into them looking for squirrels. The fence is in great condition and I didn't have any worries my dog would find an escape hatch. Once my dog got all of her sniffs out, there was plenty of room for fetch and zoomies. Highly highly recommend the spot!!!

What an AWESOME spot!!! A good sized yard, great for fetch, training, sniffs, hide and seek, and zoomies. Natalie is a fantastic host, very excellent at communicating and her instructions for accessing the spot were wonderful. She had a goodies for both my dog and I, toys, water bowls, and a comfy place to sit and hang out while my dog explored. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!!

Deborah was a great hostess for my pit bull Abby! My rescue is very energetic and anxious around new people. We were greeted with gracious understanding and distance which allowed Abby to settle in quickly. Deborah provided a tour of the space and was helpful in demonstrating operation of the various gates. A big bowl of cool water was available in addition to extra poop bags and a leash. The dog park was clean and provided generous space for long, full speed sprints. The fencing was strong and secure with additional fencing around the whole property. This was my biggest concern with a ninja pit bull who has escaped multiple runs and I was completely at ease. Stanley's Place stood out from the other available spaces online and exceeded every expectation. It was well worth the extra drive for the high quality dog park and quiet time in the country. Abby loved the space to run and explore...we will be returning regularly!

What a cute little spot!! Fully fenced, well maintained grass, safe and quiet. The drive through the neighborhood is gorgeous as well. Water was fresh and cold for the pups! Best part was the parking. You can drive right up to the gate and let your pups in and out with ease! Highly recommend and will definitely come back if I’m in the area again 😊

This sniff spot was our first and what a lovely way for two lab pups to have their meet and greet! The yard is very well kept and on a pretty hillside. It has three levels that make nice run patterns. We have an energetic 8 month pup so the uphill running was a great way to exude extra energy. The patio is nice and we appreciated the convenient water on a hot day. Thank you, Stephanie, for a lovely first visit! :)

This was a nice private location. Gate was secure all the way around. Stephanie left out water and even included two treats for my boys that they really enjoyed once they were tired out from running. There was some cool birds in the surrounding trees and some frogs I saw too which was neat.It might be important to note that this yard is on a bit of an incline, but my boys didn’t mind at all. Would recommend!

We had a really fun time this was a very discreet backyard that is situated on a hill which my pitbull loved. We brought our own ball but he liked the ball she left out for him better (So much exercise) I did not bring my small dog on this visit but the hill is not so big that she would have had any issues. And the fence would not have been an issue for my chihuahua but there is safe chicken wire that ensures she wouldn’t get out. A very spacious clean space with easy self access and easy parking. The little patio area was perfect and out of direct sun also the backyard was against a set of trees on the other side of the fence which also helps for really sunny days. Phantom looooved it there overall plenty of water in the dog bowl with an extra bottle of water and a Gatorade in an insulated bag that she set out on the table. She also left a snack (for me) and a treat stick for phantom which he happily enjoyed in the last stretch of our visit after he tired out. These little touches always make the difference for us because it really helps me feel like I am actually doing something special for my dogs and they really deserve that! We felt so welcomed. Thanks again for sharing your space we will be back 😊

Perfect for the dogs to run around and play. We went early morning but I imagine with all the shade it would still be nice in the afternoon.

Had my first visit here on a warm morning and it was such a treat. So much shade which is a major perk with my large, double coated dogs who don’t tolerate heat well. And the host left out two water bowls and a large insulated jug of cool water.
