Welcome to 5 acres of completely secluded, wide-open natural terrain designed for dogs who love to run, hunt, sniff, and work! Nestled directly alongside quiet nature preserves, our property offers incredible privacy and a peaceful escape from suburban distractions. This is not a manicured suburban backyard. Instead, you will find a beautiful, rustic slice of natural country fields featuring tall seasonal grasses, thick brush, and mature trees. It is the ultimate environment for off-leash scent work, long-line recall training, gun dog or sporting breed fundamentals, or just letting a high-energy pup sprint across massive distances without the stress of a public park. To make your visit comfortable, we maintain a wide, freshly mowed walking path that loops entirely through the 5 acres, giving handlers a clean trail to walk while their dogs explore the cover alongside them. The Layout & Safety Details Acreage: 5 full acres of natural, rustic field. Fencing: UNFENCED. This spot is wide open. It is ideal for working breeds, dogs with highly reliable recall, or handlers utilizing training lines. Terrain: Natural, unmowed country field with a mowed walking loop. Please wear sturdy outdoor footwear! Because it is a natural area, we highly recommend up-to-date tick prevention for your pups. Privacy & Homestead Disclosures Total Isolation During Bookings: Your reservation is 100% private. We promise that the 5-acre field will be entirely free of other people and animals for the duration of your visit. Arrival Visibility: Because this is an active homestead, there is a chance you may briefly see us outside taking care of property chores when you first pull into the driveway. However, we will head inside or stay completely clear of the field once you arrive so you can enjoy total privacy. Acoustics: While we have no close or visible neighbors, sound can carry in the country, and you may occasionally hear a neighborhood dog barking in the far distance. Our Animals: For the complete safety and focus of your dogs, our poultry flock is kept completely secure and locked away in their enclosed run during all active bookings. We have chickens who spend there time around the chicken coop in the front by our home which is not visible from the trail. The neighbors home at the top of the hill is visible a bit. Welcome! We are working hard to make our peaceful, quiet 12 acres into a beautiful park. You are welcome at any time, day or night, to walk, run, bike, ski or snowshoe with your dogs. We no longer have any pets-- no more dogs, horses, chickens, or other livestock. We are often visited by deer and groundhogs. Although we have 12 acres, the house and barn are in the middle of it, so you may see the house from many areas during your visit. Usually, we are working inside or we are away and we keep most of the curtains closed. We may use the driveway or receive a delivery. Future plans include clearing the West trails, planting more evergreens, and making an indoor play space in the barn. Our park will continue to improve -- it is a work in progress! Enjoy a beautiful walk on a network of trails that traverse rolling hills in and out of the forest. At the back of the property, you will enjoy some of the best and most private scenery in Oakland County. As summer turns to fall there are a lot fewer bugs and beautiful color changes. Some trees are changing already. Please stay on the cleared paths on the West side and South portion of the property due to work being done on other sections. There are wooden arrow signs that help you navigate to the back of the property and back to the parking area. Thank you. (We are currently expanding and connecting the trails, as well as clearing the views to the lake and river, so watch for some nice additions in the future.)

🌳 🌲 Welcome to Wynshire Woods! 🌲🌳 We feel so blessed to call this property our home, and we’d love for others to experience the beautiful nature we get to enjoy each day. Our 49-acre property is nestled in the woods, 1/4 mile off the road, with parking near our metal barn at the bottom of the driveway. Wynshire Woods has over a mile of trails through the hills and trees, with fallen trees to sniff, hills to climb, ravines to explore, and plenty of nature along the way. There are two trail options: Long Trail: About 1 mile | 40–60 minutes Short Trail: About 1/3–1/2 mile | Around 25 minutes We hope your dog(s) enjoy all the sights, sounds, and smells throughout the woods! We have wild turkey, deer, and plenty of other woodland critters to sniff out and explore. Hopefully they head home tired, satisfied, and happy. 🐾 A NOTE ABOUT LEASHES + OUR FARM ANIMALS: Our property is completely unfenced, and we have horses, goats, barn cats, and free-range chickens near our home and farmyard. Dogs must be leashed or on a long line on the trails near the house and farmyard, as outlined on the trail map. Part of the trail also passes by our fenced goat area where our chickens also free range, so please keep dogs under control through this section. On the long trail, once you are past the house and before you enter the trail leading to the farm area, dogs with reliable off-leash recall are welcome to explore off leash. Please leash them again before heading down the trail that passes the farm area. Please do not allow dogs to enter any of our farm or animal areas. Any dog that chases, injures, or causes significant distress to our animals may result in a fine. OUR DOGS: We have four dogs who are contained by an invisible fence and do not have access to the trails or woods. As long as your dog stays outside of their designated area near our home, there should be no interaction with our dogs while you’re enjoying the property. 🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸 HUNTING SEASON: OCTOBER 1–DECEMBER 31 Wynshire Woods will be closed on weekends from October 1 through December 31 for hunting. Any additional hunting days will also be blocked off and unavailable to book. Because there are neighboring properties where people hunt, all dogs must remain leashed during hunting season, even in the areas where off-leash dogs are normally permitted. We have two orange dog vests that hang in the hay barn/hut near the parking area for you to use while walking. You may want to wear an orange hat or other blaze orange yourself as well. And just to be clear: No one will be hunting on our property on days the trails are open. I just want to be extra cautious since there are neighboring fields and woods where people may be hunting. 😁

This is privately owned land in Chelsea and will allow you to take your dog for a run in a mowed area with sections of long grass and also for a run through the woods. The wooded area has a significant amount of wetland that the doggies love to get filthy in so bring towels if you expect your dogs to run in the woods. You may see deer and other wild animals on the property. This is an awesome spot to take your pupper out in the wilds for a truly unique dog park experience. My puppers have a blast whenever we bring them out - and so does my 15 year old son. Please be careful on the wooded path as there are a lot of trip hazards in the form of dead trees and logs.

Lovely 150 year old decommissioned farm that has been rewilding for 40 years. It has been held as a private wildlife refuge and has been farm and garden chemical free for many years. Trails wind through meadows, woods, and across frozen marsh in the wintertime. Encounter deer, turkey, crane, friendly crows, songbirds, raptors, a wide variety of wildflowers and trees. Also the occasional bunny, fox, coyote, raccoon squirrels and chipmunks pass through. In sheltering spots like my wood chip pile, I have seen snakes and salamanders. In season there are berries and fruit from wild apple and pear trees scattered along the trails. Note that this is a natural area resulting from the rewilding process and not a groomed and open park-like setting. But the trails are wide and mowed regularly for ease of walking. In the woods be prepared to navigate the occasional sticks and branches that may be on the path as typical of a natural woodlot. Wear sturdy walking shoes. This is an exciting place for dogs to sniff around! Looking forward to your visit!
