• “Hi. I’m Billy! I am a German Shepherd/ Husky/ Rottweiler mix, and am seven years old. I don’t play a lot, and tend to keep to myself. I am very chatty but also very submissive. My favourite things are chewing on frozen treats, going swimming, and napping.“

• “I’m told I’m the very best boy and everyone calls me a “gentle giant,” whatever that means. As an Akita, my origins are in Japan, but I’m born and bred Manitoba. Mom rescued me in 2022 when I was one year old and left out in the vast open prairies in the middle of February. It was -30 and I stayed out there for at least a week (I don’t really know how to use a calendar, so I can’t say for sure). I’m a winter dog, but since I was still a big puppy, I had no idea how to be on my own and make a den. It was very scary and I slept in the snow which made a boo boo on my belly - they called it frostbite. They said they thought I was a wolf when they spotted me. They tried to get me but the snow was so deep and I was so scared so I just ran from them. Mom says I was very lucky because some nice rescue people went through a lot of effort to get me to safety. They set up a trap with food inside and watched for me on a camera. It didn’t take long because I was soooo hungry that my ribs were showing. I was very scared but a very good boy when I met all the new people and the vet. Then they sent me into the city to my foster mom. But I was such a good boy, she decided to keep me forever!! Mom could see I liked to play a lot, so about a year later, she told me I was getting a sister!! She came all the way from Texas and was also left behind by someone. Then Mom found her and she came to live with us. I love her so much and we have a lot of fun playing together. We are so excited to sniff around and play in your space!“
