“I’m Birch! I’ve been in my home for a month and loving this home life! I’m leash reactive to dogs, but once I get introduced I love to run around and play! My parents aren’t sure how I will be with cats, but the shelter told them I’m okay with some. I’m fearful of some men, but getting much better every day!“

“My name is Birch and I’m a 7-year old Newfie mix. I’m kind of a homebody but occasionally I enjoy exploring new outdoor spaces with my Mom and little brother, Noah. My Mom adopted me when I was 6 because my first Mom got sick and she wanted to make sure that I had a super loving home to go to. I’ve been through a lot of loss so sometimes I have anxiety but my Mom totally gets it and always helps me through it. I’m 180 pounds so I’m careful to never jump on anyone or knock anything over in the house. Mom tells me every day that I’m a good boy and that she loves me very much❤️“

“I retired from racing in 2020. My last race was in March - I loved it!! I loved to run and chase "the bunny" and hang out with all my kennelmates. I especially loved the massages after a race. I always went to sleep! But then racing stopped and although all the staff hoped it would resume, it hasn't been safe for people to come watch us run. I had a very long car ride from Alabama to Maryland in June, and then met my humom in July. She gives me treats 😁 there's a millionty steps to her home but I am a champ and I'm not scared of them (anymore)! We go on lots of walks and then I get to take as many naps as I want! In the evenings, we get up on her couch (omg it's amazing, guys) and although I don't really like to snuggle, I sometimes kick her from the far end of the couch so she doesn't forget about me. I love love love to walk and sniff things, but without a fenced yard, she won't let me off leash. Something about "selective hearing on recall" blah blah blah. I'd love to come run in your yard - as long as you don't mind me chasing the squirrels! (They are THE WORST - have you seen the way they sit in trees and mock you?! Really, I'm doing you a favor!)“
