“Hi Everyone! I’m Scotch. I was given that name at the rescue and my pawrents thought it fit me well so they kept it. I’m kind of embarrassed because people think the name is short for butterscotch (because of my fur color) but it’s really the liquor kind. I find the world to be a bit of a scary place, and I’m still learning that strangers and other dogs aren’t out to get me. My favorite things to do are sunbathe, chew bully sticks, cuddle with my pawrents, and sniff EVERYTHING. I especially enjoy tracking scents of the other furry critters outside. I got so close to one, I think a black and white thing, and it sprayed me in the face. Mom and dad weren’t very happy with me cause I stunk up the house for a bit. They said it was a skunk, so for now, skunks aren’t my friend. I think I’ll keep my circle small and stick to my pawrents for now.“

“Food is my favorite. I like all snacks, vegetables, and fruits. I also love squeaky toys and stuffed animals and unwrapping presents. Grabbing my humans’ cardboard boxes and running to my bed to shred them is also a fun game. I love to zoomy in the house and throw my full body weight against my dad when I pivot to zoomy in the other direction. I’m a sensitive guy and love humans. I never learned how to be friends with new dogs. Seeing new dogs makes me flip a switch — the hair stands up on my back, my muscles tense, and I get very growly. Sometimes that means I want to play and sometimes I’m aggressive, so we don’t interact with new dogs much. My humans call me a sweet little mashed potato, which sums up my personality most of the time.“
