Private fully fenced ~0.17-acre backyard in SW Portland with plenty of open grassy space for dogs to run, sniff, and explore. This spot works especially well for reactive dogs, shy dogs, or high-energy pups that need room to move without encountering other dogs. Your dog will not encounter other dogs during your visit. My dog Bo (80-lb Border Collie mix, 8 years old) can stay inside, or if your dog enjoys socializing he’s happy to join for supervised play. The yard is mostly enclosed with 6-ft wood privacy fencing and secure gates, with a small section of wire fence facing the street where dogs may occasionally see passing activity. Two side gates provide easy entry into the backyard. The space is intentionally simple and sniff-friendly with grass and minimal landscaping so dogs can run, roll, and explore naturally. A separate fenced garden area keeps dogs out of the vegetable beds. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood. A nearby backyard sometimes has ducks or chickens, which you may hear occasionally, but most neighboring yards are not visible due to the fencing. There are neighbors on the side with dogs that your pup may see arriving to the spot. Plenty of parking in front of the house. Private side yard entrance to the right of the house by the garage. Please use what you see available - pooper scooper and dog bags on the patio, toys throughout the yard, towels, hose and water station for pups, garbage bin on your way out at the side of the house.

There are various plants and some amazing (HELP YOURSELF) blackberries July-August. Please never bring any unvaccinated dog to our SS. (We regularly rescue abandoned puppies which are available for adoption.) Please monitor your dogs and clean up any messes, as we seem to find them after guests have been busy on their cellphones. Extra waste bags are available in the old milk box next to the porch steps. FEEL FREE to: -use any toys you find in the SS! -fill/empty kiddie pool to your liking -throw away damaged balls -contact us with suggestions or feedback Absolutely no digging is allowed. Please do not allow your dog to dig holes. Private areas: the house including the porch, and wrap around garden. It should always be open in summer months. Please the area east of the driveway and behind the house and have a good time exploring and playing! There are bunnies, cats and squirrels on the property so we ask that you please restrain your dog on arrival, for the first 30 seconds or so when entering the property to give those animals a chance to react to the presence of a new animal. The gently sloping hillside leads down toward Gee Creek, a small creek tucked along the property edge, creating the kind of rich, layered scent environment that dogs find endlessly fascinating. Mulch and bark pathways keep paws comfortable and the ground manageable even in wetter months. It's a great space for a game of fetch, a casual sniff session, or just letting your dog decompress off-leash in a contained setting. The varied terrain adds a little natural adventure to every visit. We also offer an on leash trail to use while on the property. A heads up: The Overlook sits adjacent to a busy road, so there is noticeable traffic noise. The 6-foot fencing keeps your dog completely safe and secure, but if your pup is sensitive to road sounds, our other space — The Meadow — may be a better fit. We make efforts to provide a safe experience for you and your pups. Please return the favor by having a profile picture! Reservations for mystery people will be cancelled. Dogs must be leashed when entering or exiting (no exceptions). Absolutely no digging or fence fighting. We added more lighting and easier entry instructions to make first time visits a breeze even at night. With that said, if you are a new guest please read instructions BEFORE you arrive. If you go to the wrong house you will not be allowed to come back. We simply cannot continue to host if this happens. Instructions are visible to you once you book. Fully fenced yard with short grass. Includes a fire pit and is very well lit at night. Great for a date night with the pups or hang by the fire with a couple friends. BYO fire wood. If you plan on having a fire, we recommend a 2 hour visit! Use hose to completely extinguish fire before you leave. Note to our guests regarding pricing: the cost per dog per hour will occasionally fluctuate depending on multiple factors like weather, how busy we we are, and the state of the grass. For example, In order to give the grass some time to recover we may increase the price to reduce foot traffic. These fluctuations are necessary to maintain a healthy and clean yard.

We live on a quiet dead-end county road. As neighbors, we are close, so please be awesome and keep your speed under 20 mph. This is the lower pasture at the G&E Ranch. It is straight behind the airplane hangar pad to the east. You'll want to park where it says Ranch Parking. Go past the turn around and our egg stand and turn left just past the G&E Ranch sign. It right off the road in front of the blue house/hangar. If there is no room there, find a spot to the south in the large parking lot in front of the garage by the basketball hoop. Access the pasture via sidewalk to the north of the house/hangar and walk through the grass to the wood double gate. We have Sniff spot signs to help guide you to the gate, hose bib, picnic table and bathroom. There are other gates that should be closed, but it is good to verify they are in fact closed. We can't have any animals on the taxiway or airport. It's possible there are farm animals in the lower pasture, but we'll try to keep them out when we have reservations. They can be herded up through the upper 12' gate pretty easily. Maybe your dog(s) can help? We have three very friendly dogs. Balto is the big lovable Bermedoodle. He can have a big bark but loves people. Amber is our medium-sized goldendoodle. She's getting older and is just a lover. Port is our small Yorkie. Everyone loves Port! They roam around the ranch, so be aware of that with your dog(s). Feel free to sit at the picnic table in the back yard. We call it the Oasis. There are frost-free hose bibs for water. Guys can pee outside. There is a bathroom in the SW corner of the hangar though. You'll access it through the exterior man door and head straight back. Near the trampoline, we will have essentials for you to use. Enjoy your stay :-)
