Poppy's Play Prairie: 15 acres of fun!

Partially Fenced
15 acres

☀️🌻🕶️🐶🐾Welcome to Summer at Poppy’s! The prairie is in full bloom, the woods are covered and cool. No matter the season we can always promise excellent sniffs and adventure for your 4-legged friends no matter what! **Fostering a dog? Message for special discounts** This is our private residence. Our dogs love walking the trails, sprinting through the woods, and diving through the prairie grasses. We love offering other pups the chance to enjoy it too! The trails are mostly wooded, and there is a ravine with a small creek (often dry in the summer). There are areas of trails, woods, prairie, and mowed grass. There is a barbed-wire fence marking the property line around the property, however it is not fully-fenced. Your dog will need to know to stay close enough to you or respond to your calls. *Poop bags provided* 10% of all profit is donated to dog rescue organizations

Maplewood Farm Dog Retreat | 5-Acre Nature Escape

Fully Fenced
5 acres

Welcome to Maplewood Farm Dog Retreat -- a peaceful 5-acre nature escape in south Maplewood near Battle Creek, just minutes from I-94 & McKnight. This is still undeveloped farmland tucked into the suburbs, with rolling hills, mature trees, wooded trails, open field space, wildlife sightings and scents (ton of bunnies!), and a very different feel from a typical backyard spot. Dogs get room to run, sniff, explore, and decompress away from crowded dog parks. For history buffs, the property also has the only standing barn in Maplewood, built in 1896, still in its original form and in use. It’s also an escape for hoomans -- a quiet place to breathe, be alone with nature, bring family for a simple picnic, or just sit under the trees while your pup explores. Peaceful and private, but still only minutes from St. Paul. Think of it as a little respite from busy life. There’s even an apple tree, which adds to the old farm feel. You can book this spot two ways: Quick 30-min visits are great for dogs who just need to burn energy fast. The fenced play area is easy to access near the street, and parking is right next to the gate, so it’s quick to get in, let your pup run, play fetch, do zoomies, and head out. For 30-min visits, please use the fenced play area only. Water play is not included, and I usually won’t come out to greet you so you can make the most of your time. For the full Maplewood Farm experience, I recommend booking 1-2 hours. That gives you time to enjoy the fenced play area plus a slower long-leash walk around the block-long property, full of wildlife scents, wooded trails, scenic views, open field space, nooks and crannies, and peaceful places to take in nature. The main fenced play area is approx. 60 ft x 100 ft and is great for off-leash play, fetch, zoomies, tug with the spring pole, and burning off energy. For longer visits, there is also a self-serve water-play area with a splash pad and overhead sprinkler/mister, plus a sprayer if you want to rinse or bathe your pup on the grass. For longer visits, a good route usually starts in the fenced area, then continues through the back gate into the wooded trail system. You can loop toward the house and barn (you may hear my dogs bark), continue through the mature forest trail, use the runner trolley system for semi-free roaming, then circle back toward the open field. Signs are posted to help guide you. This is a natural, dog-friendly space, not a suburban yard. Dogs are welcome to explore, climb on log and wood chip piles, chew or pull on tree branches, sniff around, dig in appropriate natural areas, and enjoy the property in whatever way feels safe and appropriate to you. I’m not precious about the landscape here, esp since the property may be developed next year. While it’s still here, I want our furry friends to have it and enjoy it. Foster dogs and dogs with physical or sensory challenges are welcome to visit for a steep discount -- I’d love for them to enjoy this space too, just message me before booking. Since I live and work on-site, the spot is open pretty much anytime, from early morning to late evening, so you can book around your dog’s energy, the weather, or your own schedule. I recently installed LED night lights so pups can still burn energy after sundown, with bug spray/defogger available. (Campfire use available, please msg me.) Night use does not bother me -- the house is set farther back from the play area, so normal dog play is totally fine. Great for pup parents who work odd hours, or anyone who wants a relaxed, undistracted evening visit. As a dog lover and builder, I pay attention to how pups actually use the space and make small improvements as I go. Feedback is always welcome!! 🐾 🐾 Valeng and paw friends 🐾 🐾

Angela's 0.5 Acre Fully Fenced Private Dog Park In Arden Hills

Fully Fenced
0.5 acres

Our backyard is a half acre of fully fenced fun! Conveniently located and ample parking. Tons of room to run and sniff! Half of the backyard is grass. The other half is a mix of pollinators and weeds awaiting my picking. It was all buckthorn when we bought the house in 2021 😬 I use natural methods to control weeds by hand picking, cardboard and tarps for smothering patches of weeds as I work on slowly planting the “wild area.” The cardboard is pretty ugly, but it’s very effective in killing invasive weeds. So far I’ve planted more than 150 varieties of perennials 🌻 I haven’t verified that all the plants are dog-safe so please take precautions by preventing your dog from eating the plants. Humans, please try to take care to not trample the perennials in the wild area ❤️

Fully Fenced
3 acres

Come and enjoy our own private 3plus acres of wooded with some open space and trails. Fully fenced in and secure. So much space for your fur babies to run and explore. No need to stress with other dogs that may be reactive. Or maybe your pup doesn’t play well with others and prefers their own space. Our private dog park is for you. This space is amazing. It is not attached to our back yard and is a completely separate and private area. A great place for play dates with others, maybe even a picnic for the humans. Bring your snowshoes if you would like a bit of a workout yourself off trail in the deeper snow! ***2-16-26 the field is in poor conditions due to the frozen ground and warm temperatures. Please watch your footing. Early morning guest the low areas will refreeze and be crazy slippery, later guests need waterproof boots. PLEASE NOTE: Zero tolerance for smoking of ANYTHING while on our property. You may smoke in your own personal vehicle. But also, do NOT leave your dogs unattended. Fill any holes you pup digs and return toy to bin. Also, in the winter months, please be aware that their is no lighting in the field. The designated Sniffspot parking area has ample lighting but none in the field.

Important Property Facts: As this place is our home and a home for our animals we ask that guests please do not allow their dogs to harass our resident animals. We ask that guest dogs not be allowed to potty on anything man made (fences are the exception!). Don’t worry, there are dozens of trees and shrubs for plenty of potty spots! Because our cats free range the property we cannot guarantee your dog will not encounter a cat but the cats are dog savvy and generally shy around strangers. We have 2 fully enclosed fenced areas but our yards are not suitable (YET!) for dogs that are a flight risk as the main fences in our largest fully fenced pasture has had years of horses and goats leaning on the fence causing sagging in some spots down to about 2 1/2 feet in some areas. We do have a few bigger pieces of agility equipment in our personal yard which we ask guests not to use without permission. The large livestock gates do have slats that dogs can squeeze through as well. We are working at this time to create a solution for this! We do have one fence area with small mesh that would be suitable for smaller dogs. Please pick up after your dog. We know it can be hard in some of the tall grasses but we appreciate your effort to help keep our spaces as clean as possible for other guests! Also, our pastures are shared with horses for a few months out of the year. When horses are present manure will be present so we can help you avoid these areas if that is a concern! Lastly, we know we have a few Burrs around so if you spot any please let us know as we do try to pull them. We hope your dog loves our space as much as we do!

Frequently asked questions about Mound dog fields

Why are private dog fields better than public dog parks in Mound?

Private dog fields in Mound eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Mound's 90 private dog fields offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.

How safe are Mound dog fields compared to public dog parks?

Mound dog fields are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Mound dog fields eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.

Are Mound dog fields safe for reactive dogs?

Mound owners of reactive dogs choose dog fields because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy full-speed running and fetch while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Mound reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.

Can anxious dogs safely use Mound dog fields?

Many small dog owners in Mound avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog fields eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.

Do Mound dog fields work for senior dogs?

Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Mound dog fields because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs.
