History of our Sniffspot: “Millie “ was an English cream Golden Retriever from the famous Kyon Kennels in Orangeville Ontario . She was the sweetest family dog ever, and was even an extra on the original “Pupstar “ . Millie was also an adventurer and an escape artist extraordinaire ! .In her Diva way she demanded that we fence off a few of the bigger areas on our farm so she could safely roam off leash and have friends over . Millie enjoyed her ‘personal park’ for much of her 14 years here, and asked if we could continue sharing it with other doggie friends and their people once she passes. Millie passed peacefully at the age of 14 on Aug 12 2026. Description: “Millie’s spot” is Located just off the Galloping Goose Trail in a scenic hillside area in Saseenos Sooke. We are just up from Saseenos vet and the corner property on Gladys and Ludlow Rd. We are conveniently located just steps from the Galloping Goose Ludlow road trail exit if you want to hike before or after your visit . The entrance to the farm and Millie’s spot is on Ludlow road on the left just past the Gladys turn off across from Arleigh Place . We are on approx 2 acres of tiered landscaped property that is accessible with landscape stairs with railings to and from the designated Sniffspot areas . (Caution and good mobility is required on the hilly bits. ) The off leash Sniffspot area is approx .75 of an acre and comprised of a fully fenced 50x150 foot horse riding ring with firm style sand base, and another fully fenced horse paddock and picnic sitting area. Fencing is mainly with 4-5 foot post and rail horse fencing with 3-4 foot of mesh between. Good for dogs that aren’t big climbers or jumpers, and Millie tested and approved . Also works for our sneaky Frenchie . There are flat and hilly areas for dogs to run and explore . A great work out for both humans and dogs ! Sit up in the picnic area and toss the ball or frisbee down into the riding ring for an extra energy burning hill fetch run! Raining ? Or Hot weather ? Several Tree canopies of willows and cedars will keep you cool in summer and dry during a gentle rain . We also have a small overhang area in the riding ring . Most of the footing is gravel, pea gravel or sand so mud is pretty minimal . Please do not allow dogs to dig in any areas including the sandy spots as we have horses using the spot as well. Agility ? The riding ring is a perfect venue if you want to do an agility training course! , You are welcome to bring your own equipment with the possibility to store it here if you book a series of visits in advance :) What to bring, the basics : Please Bring your own toys, poop bags and water, plus good walking shoes for the hill to and from the play areas. Pig Beach (near Port Ludlow)

A .63 acre dog sanctuary for you and your pup. The yard is well maintained with dog friendly grass and has incredible views of the Hood Canal and Puget Sound. If you're interested, there is private beach access for you and your pup to explore miles of beach (public but almost always empty). There are numerous dog toys available and a massive 6+ person, dog friendly couch (late Spring to early Fall) you can relax on and watch the canal when you need a break! Regarding the beach, there are approximately 50 steps which you will need to climb up and down to access the beach so please wear proper footwear. As this is on the Hood Canal and not a lake or a pond, tides impact the size of the beach. If you are hoping to walk endless miles of beach, the tide will need to be at 2ft or below. Anything under 4ft will give you a massive area (probably 1/2 mile or more) and almost guaranteed private area as only people with stairs can access the beach at this tide level. Though the beach is open at any point, I think the maximum height you would probably want to go is about 6.5ft. This still gives you and your dog a decent sized area to play in (approximately 500ft by 30ft or 1/2 acre). Photos 16 and 17 show the beach at 6.25ft with a very large sandy area for you and your pup to play in. Anything above 6.5 ft is not recommended as the beach just gets thinner and thinner, but you're able to try if you want. (no refunds given if you don't like what you find). With that said, a 8 ft tide still gives you approximately 20 feet x 300 feet of beach to roam so you pup still has some room to explore and 9ft is approximately 10 feet x 30 feet. You are responsible for checking out the tides before you go. Legally, I can't recommend any specific source for you to use, but you might find good information Googling "tide chart port ludlow". Regarding ADA Accessibility, my property is on a gently sloping hill. To access it, there are 2 very wide concrete steps to get to the grass. This would be doable for someone on crutches and probably ok for a regular wheelchair if you had a second person to help lower you to each step and pull you up. It's definitely not accessible to a motorized wheelchair. Sorry. Note - restroom is only available if I'm home, otherwise there is one approximately 2 miles northwest at the gas station in Port Ludlow

Circle of Life & Green Burial Sanctuary In Kingston

Fifteen acres of what dogs actually want. A two-acre pasture for a flat-out run, wooded trails that go on longer than you'd expect, gentle inclines, and long straight stretches for the dogs who like to open the throttle. The smells out here are the good stuff — rabbit, damp earth, and a hundred things your dog won't tell you about. Two horses live here and roam loose. They're calm, completely uninterested in dogs and people, and unbothered even by barking — most guests find them a lovely part of the visit. Anacortes Fully Fenced BackYard/Laurie

The backyard is a slightly sloped fenced area. You can enter through the carport through a gate you can park near the carport. But not in the alley way there is a back alley in a side alley and the front of my street which are all walkable with a dog on a leash the front of my street. You can walk completely around. The block takes about 20 minutes and it’s a nice walk if you want to use the yard and use the space to park and let your dog off the leash as well as walk your dog around Anacortes is a walkable city. You can also walk three blocks to the main street and within one more block you will be in town on commercial which is about a 34 Block St. straight north where all the restaurants and attractions are . There are two other dog parks in town as well but they are not on the main street of commercial one is off to the right on our Avenue at about eighth Street and one is off to the left on another street. I don’t frequent that dog park as much because it’s off the main street a few blocks either way there are many dogs in Anacortes and if you bring your dog to my backyard or my unfeed front yard which you can do as long as you can keep control of your dog and it doesn’t run into my neighbors yard, which we are not fenced so when I would play with my daughter‘s dog, I could stay entertaining the dog without it, running into the neighbors yard if it’s a possibility that you cannot do this then you do not want to use the front yard which there is a parking spot next to the front yard as well. The backyard is big enough to throw a ball to a medium to large size dog. My daughter‘s dog was a American bulldog and we could spend an hour playing back there. No problem. I do have a cat, but I don’t think my cat will stick around if there’s another dog around it’s an outdoor indoor cat. It’s black two years old and pretty fast if I knew you were coming and I could, I would keep the cat inside unless the cat was already outside. It’s hard to catch a cat when it’s outside either way welcome to my yard. Please have doggy bags and pick up all yard waste if you feel there is dirt around the yard waste pick up some of the dirt too. Nobody wants to step in dog poop especially if it’s from a dog that’s not yours. 🌝👌🐸

It's the luckiest yard ever.

Did that AirBnb you rented down the road not come with a fenced-in yard, and your dog is just going crazy with all that extra energy in that tiny cottage you're staying in? Fear not we have you covered! Our yard is just what you're looking for. Fenced in, grassy, fresh water and fun smells, are just what a dog need, so stop on by relax in the patio furniture, or lay in the hammock while your dog(s) run(s) off that extra energy and you finally get some peace on the vacation you deserve. The bathroom is in-house and is available upon request. We are southern hospitality folks and want to ensure that your stay, although short, as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. Come on, you're on vacation! Life should be easy! So let us help you make it easier. There is access to fresh water for your pet at the hose. Just lift the blue handle to turn it on, and don't worry, the bowl is washed after each pet visit. Poop bags are provided for your convenience, next to the table in the basket, and there are multiple trash cans on site or you can just use the large one outside the gate to avoid the smell being near you. There's a patio table which has three chairs to accommodate extra people. Four guests only, please. That means five total, including you. If you have more than this, please message, and a possible arrangement can be made depending on the situation. We have a cooler outside with chilled bottled water and snacks free for you to enjoy, and sadly, we only stock it to Five. We only ask that you please use the trash cans provided. They are lucky to have a patch of four leaf clovers on our property. When they are in bloom, you are free to take a few. Please be kind and leave some for others as they only bloom three times a year. If your dog tears up the patch, do not worry they will grow back. It is a root system, and I know where the main patch is and can bring more back here. Please do not worry. If you would like a clover that is already pressed and ready to go, please ask, and if we haven't run out in the house, we can give you one. The furniture is steamed and the yard, sprayed, monthly for fleas and mosquitos that the local wildlife tend to bring. The yard is closed off for use 3 days after it is sprayed. We apologize for the inconvenience. There are also cameras on site at the entrance to show when people come and go, but no camera is pointing at the play area. They are pointing out the parking area so we can when you check in and out. Hey, I guess you can't stop asking that nagging question. Is my car's going to be safe here? There is also another camera near the front entrance to the house, so if you need to use the restroom, you'd have to walk past it as well. Sorry, we have a barn program cat, and we have to watch him, and we use this specific camera to do so, so it will see just your legs go by. It is at an angle that it can only see Shadow come and go and nothing else. If you'd like to see Shadow and his antics, feel free to ask. He's the real treasure that came with the house. Sorry, this was such a long-winded read! Wow, right! All that just to find a spot for your dog to poop! We'll if you were looking for a sign this is the place, here is the sign you're looking for...... POOP HERE. It's chill. We have snacks, and on sunny days, there is a 7ft Victorian couch in the yard to chill on, and we don't care if your dog jumps all over it, because dogs rule here and the furniture is theres first and ours second.
