A .63 acre dog sanctuary for you and your pup. The yard is well maintained with dog friendly grass and has incredible views of the Hood Canal and Puget Sound. If you're interested, there is private beach access for you and your pup to explore miles of beach (public but almost always empty). There are numerous dog toys available and a massive 6+ person, dog friendly couch you can relax on and watch the canal when you need a break! Regarding the beach, there are approximately 50 steps which you will need to climb up and down to access the beach so please wear proper footwear. As this is on the Hood Canal and not a lake or a pond, tides impact the size of the beach. If you are hoping to walk endless miles of beach, the tide will need to be at 2ft or below. Anything under 4ft will give you a massive area (probably 1/2 mile or more) and almost guaranteed private area as only people with stairs can access the beach at this tide level. Though the beach is open at any point, I think the maximum height you would probably want to go is about 6.5ft. This still gives you and your dog a decent sized area to play in (approximately 500ft by 30ft or 1/2 acre). Photos 16 and 17 show the beach at 6.25ft with a very large sandy area for you and your pup to play in. Anything above 6.5 ft is not recommended as the beach just gets thinner and thinner, but you're able to try if you want. (no refunds given if you don't like what you find). You are responsible for checking out the tides before you go. Legally, I can't recommend any specific source for you to use, but you might find good information Googling "tide chart port ludlow". Regarding ADA Accessibility, my property is on a gently sloping hill. To access it, there are 2 very wide concrete steps to get to the grass. This would be doable for someone on crutches and probably ok for a regular wheelchair if you had a second person to help lower you to each step and pull you up. It's definitely not accessible to a motorized wheelchair. Sorry.

We have almost an acre fenced yard by the Silverdale dog park. We own three dogs. Two labs and one Jack Russell. There will be lots of smells in our yard. We have water access, a kitty pool you can fill on the hot days, a table so you can bring lunch while your pups play and some toys for your pup to play with. Our dogs are always locked up and away from the windows and doors during your visit.

GETTING HERE 9420 West Saanich Rd - This is the first driveway north of Ardmore golf course on the west side of West Saanich. - Drive up the long driveway, take the sudden left turn at the farmhouse, and straight ahead another 3 metres is the SniffSpot meadow -Park there (you'll see a chalkboard sign) - The meadow is on your left THE MEADOW - this is a fully-fenced 1/2 acre with 5ft tall fences resting a few inches off the ground. It is secure for small dogs. - it is a shady spot with dappled sunlight, full of deciduous ornamental trees, wild mint, and grasses - there is a flock of chickens next to the dog meadow, visible but protected by fencing AMENITIES - water and a dog bowl are at the front of the gate. Use the spigot and hose to fill the bowl as needed - an electric outlet is here as well for charging devices - garbage is in the “pan-insula” bin clearly marked at the entrance to the meadow. Put dog waste in the garbage bin, not the compost bin.

Space includes a small wooded area within the fenced area. Bathroom available on site in the smaller barn. SMOKE FREE ZONE. Pick up after dogs, garbage bin provided. There are a few seniors visiting with mobility issues which is taken into consideration when there is poop left behind. You can always message me and let me know a general area and I can try to run out and pick it up between the next visit. There are some small gaps in the fence, so this is a great spot for large and medium sized dogs. Not a spot recommended for small dogs or severely reactive. Please keep dogs leashed until it is your time slot and are in the designated area and keep in mind you may pass another dog owner with their dog on a leash leaving or entering the spot. IF YOU CAN NOT CONTROL YOUR DOG ON A LEASH WHEN PASSING ANOTHER DOG PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS SPOT. Lots of seniors visit this spot and they may need some extra time to walk to their cars. For the most part spacing between guests has been good. Please read the essential rules the website has suggested in order to keep this a fun and safe place for dogs. Guests can be blocked from booking again if they do not respect the space or who are rude to me. Please check the spot descriptions for all details regarding animals on the property. I offer dog walks, small-group boarding, and pet sitting services. When I’m not boarding any pups, I’d love to open my yard and patio space for other pups to enjoy. I live in a quiet neighbourhood, however there is some construction going on in the lot behind my home! There is a large bedrock that runs along one side of the backyard, which makes for some great exploring. There is a blackberry grove next to my yard which is frequented by various wildlife, so there is always lots to smell back there. Please note there is a significant set of stairs you need to go down to reach the lawn area from the patio. The yard is surrounded by 6ft fences, and there is one section that is steep rock - this could potentially be climbed by a VERY determined pup so please keep that in mind. I’m happy to do what I can to make your time here as safe & fun as possible, so please feel free to reach out with your queries & I’ll try my best to accommodate!

I am converting it into a place for very small dogs to have a safe space to be off leash in a grassy spot with a cover so they are safe from pray birds. It will also be a space where people with adventure cats are free to book, so there will some cat climbing trees. For a cat, please message for details, you will have to book through the Swimply App, as sniff spot is only designed for dog visitors. My vision for this encloser is to have hay grass, a couple of young cedar trees that can be transplanted later when they are getting too big for the enclosure. Some logs/ stumps... trying to recreate a mini forest inside the space. With shade and chairs for humans to sit and relax. I will be adding some agility equipment for small dogs or cats to practice jumping through hoops and doing adorable stuff.

I am a dog mom and my dog passed away of a stroke in Feb. This will be therapy for me and the pets who come with their people. My dog was dog reactive and still loved to go places, so we will be adding water features, chairs, mowing, etc. in the near future, so check back soon!
