This was a wonderful wooded area. Plenty room for the dogs to run off energy and use those noses. It’s a perfect trail, if done twice takes about an hour. I have a dog that is very excitable and it can translate to sometimes barking at other dogs or taking a bit of time for her to get used to another dog. 55A lovely spot, mostly fenced in. Has beautiful trees and vegetation for your pup to explore. The terrain is a bit hilly and uneven, with no discernible trail, but it made it more fun and challenging for my dog to practice his Tracking in. There are a lot of blackberry bushes and logs, sticks and other growth to watch for as the description states. We did practice some Parkour around the down trees. Host was extremely helpful and communicative about the visit. We worked on recall and other training. Front area and yard by the road is flatter and good for playing with the ball. There were ducks out front and some chickens visible from another yard, possibly neighbors? My pup did okay with them with distraction. He did bark at the host’s child who was out playing in a separate fenced in area. You can hear a neighbor’s dog barking out front for those who have sound sensitive dogs. 55As long as you go into this knowing what you’re booking, it’s a great spot. There are unfenced areas, but the property is large so it wasn’t a problem for my dog. Wear good walking shoes, as a lot of the ground has light ground cover that can be itchy/prickly. the grassy area is on the road side, and is a bit of a hill, but is a great large space. Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 88% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Touchet area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 16 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 2 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby.
