55This was my dog and I’s first ever sniffspot. We had the best time as I’m not fond of dog parks but Kylo deserves some off leash time, so we tried Mary’s. This place was AMAZING. Mary was a great host, she met me with a map of the property and a brief rundown of the place which I found to be quite useful . There are farm animals behind a fence that Kylo got to meet for the first time so that was an experience on its own, there’s a pond and trails on the property that we had to ourselves for two hours. Needless to say, we will definitely come back. Spent a little under two hours here and Kylo probably had the best nap of his life when we got home. Christina C.

55We had an amazing time, the dogs immediately wanted to play in the lake so they made sure to stay cool 😆
The trail was very clear and open so the dogs had plenty of space, it was a very relaxing walk I recommend it! Sydney A.

55We’re pretty new to Sniffspot, but this is the best spot we’ve tried so far! The location is beautiful and host is fantastic. Mary met me with a map when we arrived for easy navigation of the property and the dogs LOVED being able to run free and explore. The pond especially was a hit. Definitely recommend!Christina F.

55We will DEFINITELY be back! Beautiful property and host was so kind. Different trails, scenery, and even a pond. It was too cold for the dogs to swim today, but this would be the perfect swimming spot for a warmer day. Can’t recommend enough! Olivia K.

55Easily the best sniffspot within an hour of us. Did not take advantage of any of the addons, but there is a ton of room for pups to play and run. Lots of different “activities” like a pond, woods, and even some trails. Host was amazing and friendly. Will definitely be visiting again! Miku R.

55We have a great time at Mary's Sniff spot. First time my dogs really got to run free on a hike like that and they loved it! Mary was super friendly and made sure to step out of her home to ensure we had everything we needed and was even kind enough to let our pups meet some of her farm animals, it was through the fence, but I think my pups are grateful of that once they saw how big a cow was! hahaT&D S.

55It was a lot of fun! Very nice views where you can let your dogs run around without having to call your dogs back much and ruining their fun. The dogs seemed to enjoy it a lot! It was also very clean and well maintained Jessie L.

55Well worth the drive! Easy directions to find, well worn paths to walk along, and plenty of trails to choose from! My pup also loves to swim, so the pond was a bonus, too. It's an awesome spot for a sniffari and a nice long, quiet walk when you just need to get away from it all. Mary is also a great host and easy to communicate with. We will be back! Joanne W.

55The host is awesome, so nice and helpful. The property is awesome, too. You can walk along the trails or sit by the water. I have high prey drive dogs, so I was worried about livestock but you can easily avoid interacting with them. Great opportunity to let your dogs off leash if they have a reliable recall. So many opportunities to do different things. Will definitely com back again!Amelia W.

55We had a great time! Did a few loops through the woodsy area and got about 1.5 miles in 45 minutes.
- signs made it super easy to figure out where to park and then walk.
- we did hear a few loud “booms” (maybe gunshots) so if you have a noise sensitive pup, a long line/flexi would be a good choice at this spot!
- private property signs made it very clear how to stay within property bounds, if your dog is not reliable off leash, again definitely recommend a long line/flexi.
- it is private property but we always err on the side of caution and wear bright pink/orange during hunting season. Kelsea P.

55Mary is the best and this Sniffspot is beautiful! It’s quiet with lots of different loops/trails and well-maintained. We had no issues with livestock (you pass them shortly after leaving your car). Equally interesting for a dog that wants to zoom or meander. Highly recommend!!Chelsea D.

Frequently asked questions about Zebulon dog hiking trails
Why are private dog hiking trails better than public dog parks in Zebulon?
Private dog hiking trails in Zebulon eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Zebulon's 17 private dog hiking trails offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.
How safe are Zebulon dog hiking trails compared to public dog parks?
Zebulon dog hiking trails are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Zebulon dog hiking trails eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.
Are Zebulon dog hiking trails safe for reactive dogs?
Zebulon owners of reactive dogs choose dog hiking trails because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy natural exploration and varied terrain while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Zebulon reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.
Can anxious dogs safely use Zebulon dog hiking trails?
Yes! Zebulon dog hiking trails provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment at their own pace without stress. Many Zebulon dog hiking trails offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.
Are Zebulon dog hiking trails good for small dogs?
Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Zebulon dog hiking trails because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Zebulon avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog hiking trails eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.
Do Zebulon dog hiking trails work for senior dogs?
Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Zebulon dog hiking trails because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Zebulon dog hiking trails with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.
What do Zebulon dog owners say about dog hiking trails?
Reviews of Zebulon dog hiking trails consistently highlight: excellent privacy for all dog types, secure fencing that prevented escapes, clean and well-maintained spaces, responsive hosts, and safe environments for anxious, fearful, reactive, senior, and small dogs.
