An additional area that is further back behind a cattle gate is available for use but unfenced at this time. If you dog loves to sniff there are lots of fox, deer and other creatures in the area to enliven your dogs nose! Easy parking available. The pool is completely fenced off from the rest off the yard. You don’t have to worry about your dog(s) accidentally falling in. Our yard is handicap accessible. There are no stairs to climb. The entrance to the backyard is a flat grassy area. The gate leading to the back yard is wide enough for a wheelchair or power chair. The yard has a slight incline, but there are no major obstacles that would prevent a wheelchair from moving around. We are located in Sykesville, MD which is about 30 mins from Baltimore and Columbia. 15 minutes from Owings Mills, Ellicott City, and Westminster.

On August 21, we lost our beloved dog, Griffin 🩶, who spent nearly 14 years enjoying this yard before losing his battle with heart cancer. He was sweet, loyal, strong-headed, and deeply loved. This yard was one of his favorite places to run, play, lounge in the sun, and make memories with our family. We miss him every day and are currently building a memorial in the back left corner of the yard in his honor. Opening our yard to other dogs has become a special way to share the space Griffin loved so much. We like to think he would have been thrilled to welcome new visitors and spend hours catching up on everyone's "smell mail." The yard sits on a half-acre lot with plenty of room for dogs of all energy levels. Whether your pup enjoys sprinting laps, playing fetch, exploring every scent, or simply relaxing in the shade, there's room to do it all. We like to keep the grass short and well-maintained, so we mow and trim regularly, typically once a week and more often during periods of heavy rainfall and rapid growth. We also do our best to stay on top of seasonal insects, bugs, and changing weather conditions to keep the yard as enjoyable as possible. Afternoons and evenings are our favorite times to enjoy the yard. By then, the morning dew has dried, and much of the yard is shaded by the tree canopy, creating a comfortable environment for both people and pets. Even after a heavy rain, the yard generally drains well and dries quickly, with very little mud. On cooler evenings, it's a peaceful place to relax, listen to the sounds of nature, and watch dogs enjoy the freedom of the open space.

We have somewhere between a third to a half acre in our backyard, fully enclosed with a 5 to 7-ft wood fence. We have shady spots, but there also aren't too many trees, so there is plenty of room to play fetch and run around. Amenities include a dog jump, a small dog tunnel, and furniture on the lower deck for you to sit down. There usually are a number of my dog's toys laying around (frisbees, balls, and ropes), which you are free to use while you are here. Please leave them in the yard on your way out though. We've had quite a bit of our stuff disappear over the years.
