* **** PLEASE READ FULL SPOT DESCRIPTION PRIOR! Notices for new visitors: Please be mindful as walking through to our back trails. A pathway will be made as hay grows taller. - this is a working farm with animals that need tending to. You will see us out depending on the time feeding/ watering animals. Especially in extreme weather. - we are a pig rescue farm, you will see them out and about. We have 2 overly social pigs who may come say hi to you. Then go about their way. Everyone else likes to hide. We have a beautiful 80 acre farm with loads of space for furry friends and their owners to enjoy! Trails, a pond, creek, seating areas for relaxing , swings if children come along. There is truly something for everyone! *please fill in any holes your dog may dig. If your dog is a digger please visit our over grown arena which is at the very top of our driveway and has a bridge . They can dig to their hearts content in that location! We have options of fenced in spaces for our friends that prefer to be closed in, a space for climbing and digging , and open spaces to run or trails to walk! Currently back trails are not officially marked but path is clear with tire tracks. Please be mindful of trees or branches from above and below. Possible risk of tripping and falling in the paths. We can’t wait for you all to visit! And please do not hesitate to contact with any questions or if any assistance is needed!

Kelcie's 22 Acre Private Farm In West River

Unfenced
22 acres

Welcome to our private 22-acre farm in West River, Maryland. A private, quiet serene farm where your dog can sniff, explore, train, and enjoy fresh air without the stress of crowded dog parks. This space is great for dogs who need room and privacy, whether they are reactive, shy, energetic, in training, small-dog cautious, or simply happiest following their nose. Guests can enjoy open field space, short and long grass areas, wooded views, scenic farm surroundings, seasonal flowers, wildlife sightings, and fresh-air enrichment. We provide helpful amenities for both dogs and people, including dog drinking water, dog bags, trash can, hand sanitizer, chairs, table, shade/rain shelter, off-street parking, WiFi, an electric outlet, outhouse, toys, treats, parkour-style obstacles, hose access, mister, and sprinkler. Because this is our home and working farm, visiting dogs are not permitted inside our private household animal area, barns, or livestock pastures. Farm animals may be visible from a distance, but there is no hands-on interaction. Please do not allow dogs to approach, chase, bark at, or interact with resident animals or fencing. This is real farm land, so outdoor shoes are recommended. Depending on weather, guests may encounter mud, long grass, uneven ground, bugs, wildlife, and normal farm activity. We’re happy to share a quiet part of our farm with respectful guests who want a private, safe, and relaxing place for their dogs to just be dogs.

🌿 Third Eye Cottage — Private 1 Acre Field

Unfenced
1 acre

Welcome to a quiet, southwest-facing field along the edge of the woods where your pup can run, sniff, and decompress in nature. The play area spans one full acre, from the white pole/light pole back toward the white shed and ending at the brush line. It’s open, peaceful, and removed from heavy neighborhood traffic. 🐾 Good Fit For: • Dogs with solid recall • Sniff walks & decompression time • Fetch & training sessions • Pups who enjoy open space ⚠️ Please Note: This yard is unfenced. Dogs should have reliable recall and be comfortable off-leash in an open setting. Wildlife scents are present due to the wooded edge. From time to time, ATVs may pass by on the road. They are not constant, but this may not be the best space for dogs who are highly reactive to moving vehicles or who like to chase. If your dog is comfortable with occasional distant road noise, they should do great here. 💧 Amenities • Fresh water bowl provided • Trash can at the top of the driveway • Please pick up after your pet There is a porta potty on site, but it has not been serviced recently, so please plan accordingly. ⸻ Third Eye Cottage is a calm, respectful space for dogs and humans to breathe, play, and enjoy golden-hour field magic. If you have questions before booking, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help you decide if this is a good fit for your pup.

Frequently asked questions about California dog fields

What do private dog fields in California offer that public parks don't?

Private dog fields in California offer complete privacy (no other dogs), specialized environments for full-speed running and fetch, professionally maintained cleanliness, flexible 24/7 scheduling, and safe spaces for all temperaments—puppies, seniors, small dogs, reactive dogs, or any pup needing accommodations. Public dog parks in California can't guarantee any of this. With 66 options, you get predictable, controlled environments perfect for your dog's specific needs.

Can I find fully fenced private dog parks in California?

Yes! Most of California's 66 private dog parks are fully fenced. Use the "fully fenced" filter to find secure enclosures with detailed specs: height (4ft, 6ft, 8ft+), material (wood, chain-link, vinyl), and gap information. This is crucial for escape artists, puppies learning boundaries, reactive dogs needing contained space, or small dogs who might squeeze through. California listings include fencing photos so you can verify security.

When can puppies start visiting dog fields in California?

Puppies can visit California dog fields as early as 8-10 weeks with initial vaccinations, much earlier than the 16+ weeks needed for public park safety. This early, controlled socialization prevents fear and reactivity issues later. Plus, puppies can explore full-speed running and fetch without being overwhelmed or learning bad behaviors from poorly socialized adult dogs. Many California trainers specifically use dog fields for puppy development.

How do I find private dog fields near me in California?

Browse California's 66 dog fields on Sniffspot by entering your neighborhood or zip code. Filter by distance, then narrow by features: fully fenced, "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, terrain type, or size. Each California listing shows photos, reviews, exact location, and instant availability. Local favorite The AmericanK9 Dog Ranch is particularly popular among California dog owners.

Can I rent dog fields in California by the hour?

Yes! All 66 dog fields in California are available for hourly rental. Most bookings are 1-2 hours, though you can reserve longer for training or events. Book instantly through Sniffspot, arrive during your time slot, and have complete privacy. Many California dog owners rent weekly for consistent, safe exercise.

What's the difference between Sniffspot dog fields and public dog parks in California?

The biggest difference is privacy and control. Public dog parks in California mean sharing space with unknown dogs and owners. That means you can't control who shows up or how they behave. Sniffspot's 66 California dog fields give you private bookings where only your dogs are present. You choose the time, the space, and the environment. Plus, your pup enjoys full-speed running and fetch and maintained cleanliness that public parks can't guarantee.

Are there indoor dog fields in California?

Yes! California has climate-controlled indoor dog fields perfect for extreme weather, rainy days, or year-round exercise. Indoor California locations typically feature protective flooring, controlled temperatures, and enclosed environments. They're especially popular for puppy training, senior dogs, reactive dogs, or anyone wanting consistent access regardless of California weather. Filter by "indoor" to see options.

How do California dog fields help with dog training?

California trainers love dog fields because privacy eliminates distractions. Work on recall, practice long-distance recall across open space, running drills, or field sports like fetch and frisbee, reinforce obedience, socialize puppies, or address reactivity without interruptions. For reactive dogs, train without trigger-stacking. For puppies, practice skills in controlled increments. For any dog, get focused training time in an environment specifically designed for full-speed running and fetch.
