The Training Yard The Training Yard is a 60’ x 30’ fenced yard with a Dog Tuff ™ grass surface. This is a unique grass designed with dogs and drought tolerance in mind. The Training Yard is a place for your focused training. You can also use this area as a cool down area after playing in the field. And of course, this is a great yard for my guests with smaller paw prints. Please be mindful that you may want to roll in this grass with your dogs as I do with mine, so please spend time in the field area to potty your dogs before entering the Training Yard. The “Extras” The Spot and the Training Yard are included with your reservation. Some may take training to a competitive level, so I also have available as “Extras” a complete set of AKC Rally signs and equipment, AKC Obedience jumps, and some practice equipment for your Agility training. REACTION NOTICE: I share a 300-foot fence line with the neighbor to the west and have installed privacy screening to minimize distractions. The neighbor has dozens of loose chickens, and the dogs do not bother them. Dogs may bark with curiosity, which is normal and okay, but they often stop once they realize the chickens do not react. Also, the neighbor has a dog that infrequently, though on random occasion has access to this shared fence line. Please consider this if your dog is very highly reactive.

The wood chips around the play ground did blow away to Kansas I’m guessing. The yard has concrete edging to protect your pups paws from the sharp metal edging that is out there. Plenty of shade on the deck or under the tree, water bowl for the pups, and hoping to get the little pool set up soon too. There are some Russian Olive Trees on the South side of the Park that provide wonderful shade, as well as a cottonwood near the North side, providing even more shade. There is also a table, chairs, and an outlet if you would like to work remote while here. This spot is inclusive and safe for marginalized people, including queer, trans, and BIPOC folks! This spot does have physical access challenges for people with disabilities - please message me for more information if needed. Some important notes about the spot: -Access is on a dirt road. High clearance is not needed but in winter, you should have winter tires / 4wd / AWD or backup chains. -You will probably not have cell service here. Please ask for the WiFi before arriving to the area if you will need it. I also recommend downloading Google Maps for offline use. -Terrain is uneven, please watch your step. -There are dog toys throughout the yard. -The silver trash can is for dog poop. You will find dog bags on the fence next to it. -You can’t see any other houses from the fenced area. -You may encounter wildlife (moose, deer, etc)… typically outside of the fence but possible they could jump inside. -You should typically not see any other dog or human. You might hear a dog barking in the distance or occasionally my dog barking from inside. You might see me walking around inside my home through the windows. There is a small chance my neighbors will ride their horses behind the fenced area but this is not common and they usually move through quickly. -If you need towels, please ask ahead of time. -Please, no digging in the area with short grass near the house, near any fence lines or near the solar array or well head. Do not enter the solar array or well head enclosure. -Access on the property is limited to the fenced area.
