Tail Waggers private dog park

Your attendance has allowed us to continue development of our Disney Land for dogs and being a contributor to the Portland Humane Society. Toward that end this is what we have to offer at present with more to come. Two main walking trails, with two offshoot trail loops at present. Signage is there at each to help you in and out of each. Each has a selection of walking sticks at the trailhead, should you choose to use them. Appropriate good grip footwear is recommended especially during our monsoon season. Trail one, the shorter of the two, is about 25 minutes give or take, and takes a degree of dexterity more than trail too. Trail two contains two loops trails that take 30 to 45 minutes there and back to the parking area. The trail has two rest areas to sit with umbrellas to keep the rain off when needed. Trail 2, loop two has large Vern plant areas like you may have seen in the Jurassic Park movies. There are (2) Two parking areas, one much larger for up to 25 cars to accommodate larger group events. The 2nd is at the top of the hill b4 you go down into valley were you will see a sign letting you know that if your early you can park there till your designated reservation time. At the bottom you will find a porta potty for your convenience with a lighted pathway after the sun has set. For your convenience you will find seven Poop Depots with bag dispensers throughout the park. A guest ( Mark) donated a fire hydrant as a much appreciated pee station for many pups. There are two water play areas. The preferable one is now down by our inlet water pipes. Its a shallow pool area feed by spring water, so there is no concern about algae. We call it the pup self wash area because it’s only belly deep and is an absolute favorite of the pups to play in. It’s also proved to help pups who might be afraid or timid of playing in water to investigate it a little more. The other is the larger man-made pond area. This at one time was a large beautiful pond, that we had invested a large amount of money to development a Doggie Dock Dive. We had also a selection of small watercraft to help acclimate pups to being on the water with a parent. It included a selection of different size lifejackets for parents and pups. Floatable toys for retrieval were nearby. All that however became unusable because our neighbor who controls the water level with a dam did not like us having a private dog park and said if we didn’t shut it down he would just empty the pond, which he ultimately did and mow as a result has become a mud flat. We have a solution that will bring the level back up and have set up a Go Fund Me to help us with that expense. Any donation would receive a gift certificate to show our appreciation. They can use it for their own use or it can be given to a non Sniff Spot member to use at our park for various functions. Our Muddy Paw Spa has multiple cleaning brushes, paw wash cups, a spray hose and the more favorite is a water spray wash glove that sprays water out of the palm of the glove. This is an important option especially during our monsoon season to clean pups and shoes before getting into the car. Included, are multiple towels to dry off your pup, and a close line to hang the wet towels on to dry off. In the area where you see all the picnic tables, you will see a Doggie Dig Box filled with beach sand for those pups who have the need to just dig. Near to that is an upright 50 Pd “Tug of War” that big pups love. Next is a childrens play area to play in and on. We installed a tetherball for the children, but soon learned that the pups love playing with it, who would have guessed? Down from the children’s play area is a comprehensive agility course with all the obstacles that you would see on the YouTube obstacle course events. Love seeing the pups racing around that. Multiple toy stations. If on your visit, you would like to donate unused toys for other pups to enjoy that would certainly be appreciated. A long mowed area above the pond for long distance ball and frisbee retrieval. They’re also a few frisbee catchers there to practice frisbee throwing accuracy. Long, medium range and putter frisbees are provided. A 10 x 10 doggy dig sandbox for those pups to enjoy digging. A tug-of-war for those pups will enjoy a good tug. The picnic area has been expanded to accommodate pup, birthday parties, pup, groups, and family gatherings. For those bringing young children, a swingset. Solar lighting around trees, parking area and the porta potty will help to illuminate these areas when darkness falls. There are water dispensers with water bowls. There is another area being developed presently that will become an urban agility course.

Please reserve your time a minimum of an hour ahead of time. We are a working farm and can't always be checking the app. We have logging roads and fields open to dog owners. Enjoy our scenic 120-acre farm with your puppies. Please feel free to leave a review. The landscape is unmanicured and slightly wild with quail, rabbits, and deer frequenting the area daily. A new forest has been planted, and the baby trees we ask to be left at peace to grow. We might be out working somewhere else on the farm and hope to see the blackberries slowly diminish, making this place more hospitable every year.

Nehemiah lane dog farm

Unfenced
30 acres

The property includes 30 unfenced acres of tall grass, trees, and quiet trails. The main trail makes up the perimeter of the property. It is 1 mile long and you will need to traverse underneath the bridge to Accsess the second half. There is limited access to the Yamhill River on both sides of the bridge. Some areas will be swampy during the winter and spring, especially in the lower sections. Please be aware of common forest hazards such as blackberry bushes, poison oak, nettles, and the occasional downed tree. There are no homes, restrooms or residents on the property only neighbors and a small garden area. You are welcome to explore both sides of the bridge. While there are "No Trespassing" signs posted near it, they are only intended to discourage the local homeless community. During the summer and fall, feel free to enjoy the fruit growing throughout the property most of which is at the far NW end of the grass road near the entrance. Deer and a variety of birds also call this place home and are best left undisturbed. You will find a couple of chairs and a small table set out for you to enjoy a quiet moment or watch the sunset. Please be respectful of our neighbors and remember to pick up after yourself and your dogs. Much of the property is being reforested in partnership with the USDA. / NRCS and is intentionally wild. If you bring kids feel free to use the swings at your own risk. Have a great time, Joshua

Private Forest Trails with Warm Water Dog Wash – 5 Acres

Unfenced
5 acres

About Us & Bentley We live on 7 forested acres near Banks/Hillsboro with our heeler mix, Bentley, who loves greeting new pups. We are conviently located just off hwy 26, 15 min from 185th and Intel. We opened up our trails so other dogs can enjoy the same space he does. Happy to chat about your pup's needs before you visit! About the Space Explore 5 acres of well-maintained forest trails winding through hilly, wooded terrain — the kind of place where the light filters through the canopy and your pup can really run and frolic to their heart's content. The trails loop extensively, giving dogs plenty of ground to cover without ever feeling repetitive — lots of turns, dips, and rises to keep a curious nose busy. Amenities: -Hot water spigot to rinse muddy paws. Shampoo provided for post-hike washes — please check the ingredients, and feel free to bring your own if your pup has sensitive skin -Cozy forest seating for a quiet moment on the trail -Table and chairs at the entrance for check-in -Doggie bags and dog cookies provided -The restroom may not always be available but our house is located 5 min from both the town of Banks and the town of North Plains. -Conveniently located off Hwy 26. 15 min from Intel, Costco and 185th. Trail Terrain These trails are a genuine workout — we use them for exercise ourselves. Expect rolling hills and climbs, with short flat stretches in between. Prefer something easier? Stick to the center trail, which stays mostly flat. Plan for at least 20 minutes for a full loop at a relaxed pace. House Rules Dogs must stay leashed until you reach the off-leash sign before the trails begin. Our property line is marked with pink ribbon — please stay on our side and don't let your pup cross it. Property is not fenced. Off-leash dogs should have solid recall, especially near the road. Terrain is hilly with uneven forest footing — solid shoes recommended (though we've done it in flip flops). Please clean up after your pup — waste bags provided, or bring your own. You can leave the bags on the trails and we will dispose of them. Stay on marked trails and out of garden beds, greenhouse, and planted areas. No access to the hot tub area. No smoking or open flames.

55A pleasant spot. The hike/trails + pond combo was nice. The 20-25 min ish hike has some elevation and gets the blood pumping a bit… but then I got to rest in chairs by the pond after while my pup explored! She loved the pond. There was some wildlife she was interested in so keep an eye out. Also, it is sure to be muddy in the winter! Overall, a simple spot with few amenities and best for dogs with recall bc of the lack of fence (and def need leashes on side with horses), but I had a great experience as is. Beautiful area!

55We had such a great time today! This SniffSpot is fantastic — a pond, trails, agility equipment, water features and so much more. The thoughtful design, variety of play areas, and overall cleanliness really stood out. We’ll definitely be back to explore more! A quick note: some areas are muddy and a bit slippery. I was glad I wore rain boots and brought a towel for Kali. She had an absolute blast splashing through the mud and water, and she was definitely dirty (in the best way!) afterward.

55We had the best time! I knew the place looked familiar since it’s right next to another popular Sniffspot (they share a massive pond, which isn’t an issue at all). I had always wondered what was on the other side! I’m so happy the host decided to open up their land for us to use! We loved the trail, which loops around. My dog had a blast swimming in the pond and rolling in the mud afterwards. We also went up the hill / field for the amazing view. We’ll be back plenty!

55We just visited a second time and our water retriever did not want to leave! We have now hiked both trails in wet/rainy conditions and you really need to have the right shoes on and be able to hike on an incline that may work your glutes to enjoy the trails. While they're improving the trails under the wet/rainy conditions, they already have some hand rails installed, wood/plank stairways, and even offer hiking/walking sticks at the beginning of trail #1. Trail #2 had some umbrellas available mid-trail. Again, very muddy + wet leaves + inclines, but worth it when trying to get your dogs to bond off leash or doing some recall practice.

We managed to sneak in just enough time to explore part of trail 2, will have to be back to go on the whole thing and Trail 1. It is muddy in spots with the rain so make sure to wear appropriate shoes.

55I think the hosts have thought of everything! We had a great time and will definitely be booking here again in the future. My dog loved the trails, and I really appreciate the care put into railings and bridges for the none four legged folks. I think I will still need a hiking stick next time, as some spots were very slippery. I, however, am not very steady on my feet these days. The agility equipment is impressive and I like the thought put into it compared to other spots I've been to. Instead of just having it out, it's set into a nice clear course. The dog rinse spot was also great with good traction for the pups, and a soft sprayer, that still has enough power to get the mud off.

55This is a great new spot! My dogs had lots of fun running along the trail. It took about 20 mins to do the full loop with both dogs at a moderate pace (those with dogs who like to mosey and sniff more would probably take longer). Definitely a good idea to leash up your dogs along the property line if there's any concern for them straying, it would have been easy for even my larger dog to get under it. I will mention, as can be normal for the area, that there was some target practice going on in the neighborhood. Luckily, though, even my gun shy dog was not bothered by it, so perhaps a sign that the sound was far enough away to not be an issue for most pups!

Frequently asked questions about Molalla dog hiking trails

What do private dog hiking trails in Molalla offer that public parks don't?

Private dog hiking trails in Molalla offer complete privacy (no other dogs), specialized environments for natural exploration and varied terrain, professionally maintained cleanliness, flexible 24/7 scheduling, and safe spaces for all temperaments—puppies, seniors, small dogs, reactive dogs, or any pup needing accommodations. Public dog parks in Molalla can't guarantee any of this. With 23 options, you get predictable, controlled environments perfect for your dog's specific needs.

Can I find fully fenced private dog parks in Molalla?

Yes! Most of Molalla's 23 private dog parks are fully fenced. Use the "fully fenced" filter to find secure enclosures with detailed specs: height (4ft, 6ft, 8ft+), material (wood, chain-link, vinyl), and gap information. This is crucial for escape artists, puppies learning boundaries, reactive dogs needing contained space, or small dogs who might squeeze through. Molalla listings include fencing photos so you can verify security.

When can puppies start visiting dog hiking trails in Molalla?

Puppies can visit Molalla dog hiking trails as early as 8-10 weeks with initial vaccinations, much earlier than the 16+ weeks needed for public park safety. This early, controlled socialization prevents fear and reactivity issues later. Plus, puppies can explore natural exploration and varied terrain without being overwhelmed or learning bad behaviors from poorly socialized adult dogs. Many Molalla trainers specifically use dog hiking trails for puppy development.

How do I find private dog hiking trails near me in Molalla?

Browse Molalla's 23 dog hiking trails on Sniffspot by entering your neighborhood or zip code. Filter by distance, then narrow by features: fully fenced, "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, terrain type, or size. Each Molalla listing shows photos, reviews, exact location, and instant availability. Local favorite Sauvie Island, Riverfront, Field, 40 Acres, swing on River is particularly popular among Molalla dog owners.

Can I rent dog hiking trails in Molalla by the hour?

Yes! All 23 dog hiking trails in Molalla are available for hourly rental. Most bookings are 1-2 hours, though you can reserve longer for training or events. Book instantly through Sniffspot, arrive during your time slot, and have complete privacy. Many Molalla dog owners rent weekly for consistent, safe exercise.

What's the difference between Sniffspot dog hiking trails and public dog parks in Molalla?

The biggest difference is privacy and control. Public dog parks in Molalla mean sharing space with unknown dogs and owners. That means you can't control who shows up or how they behave. Sniffspot's 23 Molalla dog hiking trails give you private bookings where only your dogs are present. You choose the time, the space, and the environment. Plus, your pup enjoys natural exploration and varied terrain and maintained cleanliness that public parks can't guarantee.

Are there indoor dog hiking trails in Molalla?

Yes! Molalla has climate-controlled indoor dog hiking trails perfect for extreme weather, rainy days, or year-round exercise. Indoor Molalla locations typically feature protective flooring, controlled temperatures, and enclosed environments. They're especially popular for puppy training, senior dogs, reactive dogs, or anyone wanting consistent access regardless of Molalla weather. Filter by "indoor" to see options.

How do Molalla dog hiking trails help with dog training?

Molalla trainers love dog hiking trails because privacy eliminates distractions. Work on recall, practice trail recall in natural environments, leash manners on varied terrain, or hiking endurance building, reinforce obedience, socialize puppies, or address reactivity without interruptions. For reactive dogs, train without trigger-stacking. For puppies, practice skills in controlled increments. For any dog, get focused training time in an environment specifically designed for natural exploration and varied terrain.
