Aunty Sooz's Private Backyard Pup Playground In East Pete!

Hello there. Welcome! Aunty Sooz's playground is about 1/4 acre of relatively flat grass and clover. I don't spray chemicals and choose to embrace my weeds. Also, there is a compost pile behind the shed where various critters like to burrow and lots of things to sniff! There are some toys on the white table under the pergola, but of course you can use your own. There is also a black plastic bin on the deck and a white doggy bag dispenser on the south side of the fence. My back yard is a work in progress. My yard work never seems to end. I am in the process of refinishing some wrought iron patio furniture. Hopefully, it will look better as the weather improves. For the dark winter months, I have decided to leave the holiday lights up. I also added some solar-powered ones although I'm not sure they help all that much. The previous owner left three handmade pvc hurdle obstacle poles that you can set up if you do agility training. There is a small fire pit which is the only other big obstacle for pups to zip past. In case the ground is damp, I try to keep clean towels on the table as well. There is also a dog water bowl near the back porch gate and a big metal one on the deck. I will have the hose hooked up when the weather warms. ***I ask that you book a few hours ahead so I can prep the backyard. Sometimes this app is buggy and I don't see your reservations. *** The back gate can be a little tricky if you're not familiar. It is a tight turn towards the backyard. Pups will likely go up onto the porch or in flower beds. The gate closest to the garden is a bit easier to navigate with a pup. You have to reach in between the two gate panels and pull the metal lever towards you as you push the gate open. I will try to prop it open for you and write you a personal welcome sign if there's enough time. Have fun!

What a great Sniffspot! Thank you so much for having us! Flat and exceptionally clean yard in a nice neighborhood. Since we moved 6 months ago, my two dogs do not have a fenced in yard anymore and this was a great opportunity for them to get some zoomies out without a leash! Our Cocker Spaniel is dog and human reactive and our shitzu is easily bullied by other dogs, so regular dog parks just won’t do for us! This was a great experience and we will be back:)

What a great yard in a lovely neighborhood! My dog, Millie, is a mini Houdini and I am so glad to say this yard had a lot of care taken to make it secure. It was very clean and well kept. The yard is large and the porch is shady, comfortable and inviting. We loved trying the agility equipment. A few neighbor's dogs barked at us for several minutes, but caused no problems. I recommend this sniff spot!

Great area to run dogs… Only Suggestion I’d make is to have a garbage can for any dog poop During the visit. Will definitely return!

This spot is PERFECT! So many areas to sniff around, lots of toys, shade, and water. Erin was incredibly kind and communicative before we came and answered all our questions. We don’t have a yard yet and our dachshunds are dry reactive so this was the perfect treat for them to spend an hour sniffing, running, and playing. We will be back!

This sniff spot was so much fun!! We ran and ran and ran. So many delicious new smells and places to explore! Dad hung out in the hammock while our moms hung out with us. All I can say is this place is perfect! There is a big open grass field, a nice wooded area and a fantastic stream which is all easily accessible no matter the size dog! The host, Melinda, is a pleasure and gave us a great tour of the property. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great place for their dogs to explore.

Chairs under roof to sit and watch your pup play. Conveniently located near our home and easy to find. We will definitely be back again.

Thank you so much for hosting us. This is a great spot with just enough space for a couple of active large dogs to play and run off some energy. Parking is easy to access and the yard was clean and well maintained with a secure fence and gate. We will definitely be back!

This yard was PERFECT for my little guy & his friend. He’s a bit of an escape artist so it can be hard to find a place that he can’t find a way out of. This yard was so secure & just the right size to run & play. Lots to sniff & explore & they loved the extra toys to play with. Thank you for opening your yard to us! We had a great time & will definitely be back again & again!

How do I know if a small dog park works for my dog?
Start by applying basic filters, such as fencing and distractions, to find a dog park that works for your furry friends. If your dog doesn't respond to owner commands, you can visit one of our enclosed dog park areas. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our small dog park sites where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can see any park amenities provided, including a park bench, water for dogs or water features such as kiddie pool or water hose. If your dog loves water, you can go to a park with water features, but if they don't love water, you can avoid them. We also recommend reading reviews to check for park maintenance issues and reaching out to the host with any questions. And lastly, of course, check park hours. Many of our parks are open from dawn until dusk.
