Beautiful scenic spot just outside of Staunton! This mostly level space offers lots of options for your fur family. An acre of fully fenced in yard, an additional acre of open field (fenced on 2 sides only) with large trees, and a shallow river access that’s great for swimming and playing! The fenced in portion of yard also has kids play equipment available, rocking chairs, and a porch swing. A small picnic table with umbrella is also available for use. We do have neighbors, but because we sit further back than other houses, our yard offers a lot of privacy with woods and a field surrounding us. We often have squirrels, birds, rabbits, deer, turkeys, and geese roaming around! Your pets will enjoy the space to run, river access, and unlimited water! And you will enjoy the beautiful views and shade trees! ****NOTICE***** THE CREEK ACCESS WILL CONTINUE TO BE AVAILABLE, HOWEVER, THE WEED AND GRASS MAINTENANCE WILL CEASE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO OWNER INJURY. Property has about an acre fenced in and over 4 un fenced. The fenced in portion is near impossible to escape as there is wiring across it as well. You are free to use the unfenced portion as well, just let us know before hand, stay on our property and pick up after your fur baby.

Easy parking and access. Info for guests: Leash not required. Some fencing in back may be down. Use your best judgement. Clean up not required. Driving Instructions: When going up drive way stay to right. Continue towards barn. Look for red metal gate. Stop and park at red gate. Please do not drive past gate. Walk through gate. Go any direction from there. But... For most direct trail to creek walk to end of riding arena. On far side of arena there is a double gate. Trail is just past this gate. Follow this trail into woods. Creek is at bottom of hill. Once at creek multiple trails intersect near creek. There is also a trail on other side of creek that will weave back around. Trails are somewhat rugged. Watch for fallen debris from trees, ruts in ground caused by flooding, exposed roots are trip hazards. Watch your step.

I have 6 acres directly on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River. Great spot for small mouth fishing. Pictures taken are when the river was very low but regardless it’s still a pretty good spot to go out in the water. Also available to drop in or hop out for kayaking. Secure & Picturesque Landscape: Our 4-foot tall welded wire fencing and gate provide a secure environment, even for small dogs. While digging is welcome, we kindly request that pups avoid digging near the fence line to maintain its integrity for all visitors. The Haven boasts a natural landscape with some uneven ground (please exercise caution) and grass maintained at 2-3 inches. There are no nighttime lights, so please plan accordingly. The property is surrounded by forest on three sides, while the remaining side offers scenic views of an adjacent field that should be enjoyed only as part of the view. Embracing Nature & Neighbors: You’ll often see local wildlife such as deer, squirrels, rabbits, turkeys, turtles, and various birds. Our own dogs will be indoors during your visit, but our neighbors are accustomed to our vocal pups and some have their own who may "chat back" if your dogs are talkative! Alto Road for 100 yards then turning left. Please walk your dogs around the gate to access the backyard. $10 per hour for first dog plus $5 per hour for each additional dog.

Beautiful isolated 13-acre spot in the country. There is a clear, well-maintained marked trail through the woods to an area with springs, a creek, and a watershed. Moving on down the 1/4 mile driveway past the house is a path down to the Tye River that has a nice-sized riverbank (beach) for romping and water splashing. Swimming dogs can venture onto the rocks to explore the river. Those who want to exercise can hike up/down the stream, climb big rocks, and other obstacles. This highly wooded area has lots to explore “off path” and on path, so you can never experience everything in one visit. This is heaven for dogs and for those who prefer a challenging exploration vs a standard field or yard to explore. The walk to the creek/springs/watershed is a beautiful, relatively easy walk. The river walk, while there is a trail, is pretty steep and rocky, and it's a good workout to get back up. Join us at Bear’s Creek for an adventure your dog will thank you for! Rules for the river: Low tide, all are welcome. High tide, swimmers only, or dogs with excellent recall. Raging River, closed to all. If you're most interested in the river and you know we have had a lot of rain, you can message me prior to booking for river status.
