Hello fellow pet parents! We have a total of three lush green acres available for your beloved pet friends to explore. The space is fully-fenced. Our fence is a 3.5 foot high cattle fence with wire mesh. The entrance to our spot is a large metal swing gate. The spot has cut short-grass. There are lots of deer among other animals in the area so your dog can have their own sniffing adventure! No need to worry if your dog is reactive because these animals usually keep their distance. We have digging areas and poop bags. We also have some wood planks that could possibly be used for agility jumps (See pictures). You can enjoy a chill hangout at the picnic table, or just relax on the lawn chairs while watching your pup. Enjoy a cup of coffee, soft drink or h2o while your lovely pet is enjoying their free time. Wet wipes, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, paper towels and a trash can will be provided as well. The area is quite tranquil; you can enjoy birds chirping or even meditate. Portable lawn chairs are also accessible. It’s a perfect place to take some time off from daily life struggles and relax; both for you and your furry friend! Shady spots are available during any time of the day if you don’t like to be under the sun. We would love to see your furry friends enjoying our yard. Please feel free to share their pictures at the spot! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out!

We had a really fun time this was a very discreet backyard that is situated on a hill which my pitbull loved. We brought our own ball but he liked the ball she left out for him better (So much exercise) I did not bring my small dog on this visit but the hill is not so big that she would have had any issues. And the fence would not have been an issue for my chihuahua but there is safe chicken wire that ensures she wouldn’t get out. A very spacious clean space with easy self access and easy parking. The little patio area was perfect and out of direct sun also the backyard was against a set of trees on the other side of the fence which also helps for really sunny days. Phantom looooved it there overall plenty of water in the dog bowl with an extra bottle of water and a Gatorade in an insulated bag that she set out on the table. She also left a snack (for me) and a treat stick for phantom which he happily enjoyed in the last stretch of our visit after he tired out. These little touches always make the difference for us because it really helps me feel like I am actually doing something special for my dogs and they really deserve that! We felt so welcomed. Thanks again for sharing your space we will be back 😊

This was a nice private location. Gate was secure all the way around. Stephanie left out water and even included two treats for my boys that they really enjoyed once they were tired out from running. There was some cool birds in the surrounding trees and some frogs I saw too which was neat.It might be important to note that this yard is on a bit of an incline, but my boys didn’t mind at all. Would recommend!

This sniff spot was our first and what a lovely way for two lab pups to have their meet and greet! The yard is very well kept and on a pretty hillside. It has three levels that make nice run patterns. We have an energetic 8 month pup so the uphill running was a great way to exude extra energy. The patio is nice and we appreciated the convenient water on a hot day. Thank you, Stephanie, for a lovely first visit! :)

What a cute little spot!! Fully fenced, well maintained grass, safe and quiet. The drive through the neighborhood is gorgeous as well. Water was fresh and cold for the pups! Best part was the parking. You can drive right up to the gate and let your pups in and out with ease! Highly recommend and will definitely come back if I’m in the area again 😊

Gracious host. Beautiful shaded yard. Was worried it was too hot a day, but because of the shade, it felt very comfortable. My dogs loved sniffing around the wooded lot. Host had water out for the dogs which they used. Although I do live 20 miles away, I will come back as often as I can.

Had my first visit here on a warm morning and it was such a treat. So much shade which is a major perk with my large, double coated dogs who don’t tolerate heat well. And the host left out two water bowls and a large insulated jug of cool water.

Perfect for the dogs to run around and play. We went early morning but I imagine with all the shade it would still be nice in the afternoon.

My dog and I live in an apartment complex, which is why I try and visit Sarah’s property weekly. A buddy of mine (former neighbor) has a female dog, same age as mine, and they were inseparable playing on the tennis courts in my complex until they moved away last year. My boy was heartbroken. We get together once every few months at the farm. I can’t articulate just how good for their psyches it is to reunite. They run WILD on such a huge expanse of open fields. Non-stop, full out sprinting. You just can’t replicate it. Sarah’s property has been a godsend for us going in 2 years.

We had a great time here today. Lots of space to explore and access to a pond! It was very snowy and wet for us, but the dogs enjoyed it. Hoping to go back when there’s less snow on the ground and it’s easier to navigate the woods. Overall, a great spot!

FAQ about our Bel Air dog parks

Are dog parks safe for my dog?

Public dog parks can be a great way for your dog to socialize and exercise, but just like any public space, there is a potential for some risks. It's important to research the dog park before you go, as not all parks are created equal. For example, some may have inadequate fencing or have areas that can be dangerous for your pup. However, in general, public dog parks are safe as long as you take the necessary precautions. You should always supervise your dog and be aware of their interactions with other dogs. Additionally, make sure your dog is up to date on all vaccinations to protect them from potential diseases. Bel Air, MD can get quite hot in the summer, so be sure to bring plenty of water to keep your dog hydrated.

Private dog parks, where only one booking is allowed at a time, can be an excellent option for owners who want to avoid unpredictable dog interactions. With no other dogs around, you can be sure that your pet is safe. These types of parks may offer indoor, outdoor or swimming options, depending on the facility. They can be especially helpful for dogs that may have anxiety or fear of other dogs, or for those that need more individual attention. Because there is typically only one booking at a time, the park can be customized to meet the needs of your individual dog. This can also be a great opportunity for one-on-one training with your pup. In Bel Air, MD, a private dog park with indoor options can be especially helpful during the hot summer months.

What are the benefits of taking my dog to a dog park?

Public Dog Parks:

It provides an opportunity for dogs to learn to communicate with other dogs and to develop social skills. Moreover, dog parks offer a safe and secure environment for dogs to exercise and play. Dogs can run and play off-leash in a secure space without the risk of getting lost or hit by a car. Additionally, dog parks are a great place for owners to meet and socialize with other dog owners. It's a great place to make friends and to network with people who share the same interests. In Bel Air, MD, where the weather can get really hot in the summer, public dog parks can provide a shaded area for dogs to relax and cool down.

Private Dog Parks:
Private dog parks offer a different set of benefits for dogs and their owners. With private dog parks, dogs can have the entire space to themselves, without the risk of encountering other unpredictable dogs. This provides a great opportunity for owners to bond with their dogs and to have some quality one-on-one time with them. Additionally, private dog parks offer more flexibility in terms of scheduling and can be booked for exclusive use. This allows owners to control the environment and to ensure that their dogs are safe and secure. Private dog parks in Bel Air, MD can provide indoor or outdoor options, which can be especially beneficial during extreme weather conditions. Some private dog parks even offer swimming options, which can be a great way for dogs to cool down and to get some low-impact exercise.

How can I prepare my dog for a visit to the dog park?

Public dog parks can be a great place for dogs to socialize, exercise, and have fun, but it's important to prepare your dog for a visit. Before heading to the park, make sure your dog is up-to-date on all necessary vaccinations and is wearing appropriate identification tags. Start by taking your dog on regular walks to help them build up their stamina and get used to walking on a leash. Once your dog is comfortable on a leash, try taking them to a smaller, quieter dog park to help them get used to being around other dogs. When you feel your dog is ready for a bigger park, bring plenty of water, a leash, and some treats to encourage good behavior. Always keep an eye on your dog and be prepared to leave if your dog seems uncomfortable or if there are any aggressive dogs at the park.

Private dog parks offer a more controlled environment for dogs to play and exercise. To prepare your dog for a visit to a private dog park, start by familiarizing them with the car ride to the park location. Once you arrive, take your dog around the park on a leash to help them get used to the sights and smells. Next, introduce your dog to the play area, keeping them on a leash until they are comfortable. Once your dog seems relaxed, let them off the leash and supervise them closely. Encourage your dog to play and have fun, but be prepared to intervene if necessary. Bring plenty of water and some toys to help keep your dog entertained. If your dog shows any signs of aggression towards other dogs, it may be best to avoid private dog parks altogether. Remember, always prioritize your dog's safety and well-being when visiting any dog park.

What should I bring with me when visiting a dog park?

If you're heading to a private dog park in Bel Air, MD, the items you'll need to bring will depend on the specific amenities available. If the park has an indoor area, consider bringing a toy or two that you and your dog can play with indoors. Since private dog parks only allow one booking at a time, you won't need to worry about unpredictable dog interactions. However, it's still a good idea to bring waste bags to clean up after your pup and plenty of water to keep them hydrated.

When booking a private dog park, be sure to ask about their policies and what amenities they offer so you can choose the best option for your dog's needs.

How often should I take my dog to the dog park for socialization and exercise?

It's important to remember that every dog is unique and will have different exercise and socialization requirements. Public dog parks can be a great way to socialize your dog and give them a chance to burn off some energy. However, it's important to consider the weather in Bel Air, MD, especially during the hot summer months. If it's particularly hot outside, it may be best to limit your dog's time at the park or avoid going altogether. In general, taking your dog to a public dog park a few times a week can be a great way to help them stay active and social.

Private dog parks can offer a different experience for you and your dog. With no other dogs around, you have the freedom to let your dog run and play without worrying about unpredictable dog interactions. Private dog parks may also offer additional amenities, such as indoor or outdoor options, or even swimming pools. While the cost of booking a private dog park may be higher than going to a public park, the added peace of mind can be worth it for some owners. Ultimately, the decision of how often to take your dog to a private dog park depends on your individual dog's needs and your preferences as an owner.
